Based on hypothesis testing using multiple regression analysis, the results showed that gratitude and social comparison simultaneously had a significant correlation with body image, with a correlation coefficient of 0.192 and a significance value of 0.000 (p <0.05). Then partially, gratitude had a positive correlation with body image, with a correlation coefficient of 0.425 with a significance value of 0.001 (p <0.05). Abstract

Terrorism is a constant phenomenon. However, the pattern and style of terrorism have changed considerably since 2010. This paper uses a case-study approach to explore the factors that lead individuals to join terrorist groups today. Analysts have long focused on three factors that drove individuals to join terrorist groups: "needs, narratives, and networks," commonly referred to as the 3N. This paper identifies two more: norms and new media (2N). Now recruitment often occurs through social media. Besides that, this study found that people who adhere to good norms are vulnerable to being affected by terrorism. The results of this study indicate that not all terrorists have bad personalities. The results of this study inform the community that the internalization of values is accomplished not only by teaching goodness but also by directing goodness. In addition, this research has implications for enhancing the digital literacy abilities of the community.

Abstract

Research examining the psychological condition of congregants during the practice of dhikr and its impact on inner peace remains relatively limited. Objective: This article aims to explain the process through which inner peace is formed among members of the Annisa Dhikr Assembly (Majelis zikir Annisa) in Matesih, Karanganyar, Central Java, Indonesia. Method: This study employs a qualitative approach using a phenomenological method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and participant observation and were analyzed to capture the congregants’ subjective experiences while engaging in dhikr practices. Results: The findings indicate that congregants’ experiences of inner peace are dynamic and shaped by several key dimensions, including physiological, psychological, spiritual, and social support aspects. The interaction among these dimensions contributes significantly to the emergence of feelings of calmness and inner tranquility. In addition, inner peace is influenced by contextual factors such as the presence of the dhikr leader, the leader’s vocal intonation during the dhikr recitation, the style of delivery, and the congregants’ level of understanding of the meaning and practice of dhikr. Conclusion: These findings suggest that dhikr functions not merely as a religious ritual, but also as a psychospiritual experience that plays an important role in fostering inner peace among congregants.

Abstract

Research is a form of effort to achieve truth. Research is divided into several methods, namely qualitative, quantitative, and mixed method. Each of these research methods includes several research techniques, one of which is experimental research. Experimental research including quantitative research methods. Broadly speaking, experimental research is divided into pre-experiment, quasi experiment, and true experiment. Many studies still use a one-group design. This study aims to assess the feasibility of one group design using a literature study. The result is that the experimental design of one group is considered less suitable for use in research due to several factors, namely the minimal number of groups, no control group, not random, and low validity.

Abstract

Happiness is one of the factors that support mental health. However, not all theories of happiness are cross-culturally applicable. This condition causes happiness scales that use Western theories to be less relevant to groups of individuals with certain cultures and beliefs. Therefore, this study aims to develop a happiness scale from Al-Ghazali's concept (sa'ādah scale) in the context of Indonesian Muslim adolescents. After all items were validated by six raters (content validity coefficients ranged from 0.792 to 0.958), the sa'ādah scale was tested on 303 Muslim adolescents (female=170, male=133) in Central Java and Yogyakarta (Mage=20.759, SDage=1.383). The assumptions of unidimensionality and local independence were met. Of the total 32 items, one item was eliminated because the MNSQ outfit score was greater than 1.50. The point-to-measure correlation of the remaining 31 items was greater than 0.30 with satisfactory PSR and ISR. In addition, the correlation between the sa'ādah scale and the Tathmainn al-Qulūb Scale (TQS) (r=0.498; p<0.01) and the gratitude scale (r=0.909; p<0.01) was satisfactory. Thus, the sa'ādah scale was found to be of good quality. This sa'ādah scale can be used for research and measurement in efforts to achieve mental health among Muslim adolescents in Indonesia.

Abstract

This paper aims to reveal the inner peace dynamics of followers of the Naqshbandiyya-Khālidiyya Order. It employs a qualitative approach with the phenomenological method and in-depth analysis to describe the followers' inner peace dynamics. Interviews and observations have been carried out to collect data. Data reduction, presentation, conclusion drawing, and verification are employed. This study reveals that reaching inner peace dynamics needs problem-solving. The second step is making the decision. The third step is finding the solution to solve the problems to find the right strategy for a particular situation. The fourth step is being patient by emotional restraint. The last step is embracing faith and self-efficacy in dealing with problems. Faith is obtained from dhikr as it will lead to remembering God. The stages and aspects of inner peace are different from Mujib and Mudzakkir's theory. In addition, this study found that internalizing the value of murshid and self-approach to God positively impact inner peace.Contribution: This article contributes to a new finding about the stages of achieving mental peace. So, everyone can seek peace of mind through these various stages. In addition, the Ṭarīqa can also optimize its role because the murshid is considered necessary for increasing peace of mind.
