Abstract

In this research will be discussed on macroeconomic indicators and financial system stability in Indonesia in period 2000Q1 - 2011Q4. For it will be examined whether there is influence of various macroeconomic indicators in the sample period as well as structural changes to financial system stability in Indonesia. This study uses Error Correction Model. Tests conducted in this study is a data stationary test, cointegration test, test methods Error Correction Model, using a stability test of Recursive Residual Cumulative Sum (CUSUM) and CUSUM of Squares Test (CUSUMQ). To explain the phenomenon of structural changes, were estimated using a dummy variable, during the global crisis in 2008-2009. From the results of these estimates produce a significant effect in the long term the macroeconomic variables on financial system stability in Indonesia although there are some macroeconomic variables the number of foreign debt, the money supply, and the stock price index  which does not have a significant impact on the short term.

Abstract

In this study, the authors will analyze several financial ratios included in the bank health assessment indicators and are used to analyze the relationship between these ratios and the market share of banking in Indonesia. This research was conducted at BUKU IV bank using quarterly data from the 2009 to 2019 period obtained by the authors from the published reports of these banks. The author sees the importance and obligation for stakeholders, including regulators and the public to see market share information as a monitoring and awareness tool for the BUKU IV bank. That the BUKU IV bank has a major influence in realizing a healthy banking system, strong and efficient, as a company capable of influencing economic development in Indonesia (agent of development), has a major reputation risk to maintain stakeholder trust (agent of trust), and as a tool measure to see the satisfaction of banking services to the public (agent of services). The results of research using the Random Effect model showed that the Gross NPL variable, Net NPL had a negative and insignificant effect on the market share of BUKU IV in Indonesia. The variables of non-performing productive assets and non-productive assets with problems on total productive assets and non-productive assets have a significant negative effect on the market share of BUKU IV in Indonesia. The variables ROA, NIM, OEOI, KPMM, CKPN, problematic productive assets on total productive assets have a significant positive effect on the market share of BUKU IV in Indonesia. The CASA variable has a positive and insignificant effect on the market share of BUKU IV in Indonesia.

Abstract

The Economic crisis has impacted the disruption of the stability of a country's financial system, including ASEAN countries. In Indonesia, there is a Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK) whose duties are to coordinate monitoring and maintaining financial system stability. KSSK has the authority to set the criteria and indicators for assessing financial system stability conditions concerning the financial system's stability. The second authority is to evaluate the condition of financial system stability based on input from each member of the Financial System Stability Committee, along with supporting data and information. As an economic area with history, ASEAN countries certainly have a relationship, either strong or weak. This study conducted calculations of the financial stability index (Aggregate Financial Stability Index) built from the Morris framework (2010) consisting of sub-index Financial Development Index, Financial Vulnerability Index, Financial Soundness Index, World Economic Climate Index. The calculation results showed that in ASEAN 6, there were fluctuations in financial stability, and there were variations in the correlation of financial stability. Therefore, improving the financial stability in Indonesia needs to consider the existence of financial stability in other countries.

Abstract

Problems with data processing and analysis capabilities often hinder lecturers and students in producing research work. Likewise, employees in the financial sector perform data processing in order to support their tasks, namely being able to analyze data into strategic information for the company. The problem solving is carried out by the Master of Applied Economics Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia, Jakarta, by organizing a Quantitative and Qualitative Data Analysis Workshop for students, lecturers,  and financial practitioners. The activity starts from July 19 to August 19, 2022. Learning media is held online through Zoom Meetings. The participants of this activity are lecturers and students from various institutions/universities throughout Indonesia, from the University of North Sumatra to the University of Ottow Geissler Papua, as well as from practitioners of financial institutions. The number of applicants for this Data Analysis Training is 558 participants.  Workshop material is an introduction to regression analysis & multivariate modeling (data stationarity,ARDL, ECM, cointegration), univariate modeling (ARMA / ARIMA), Volatility modeling (GARCH), Logistics Regression Analysis, VAR, Panel Data Analysis, data analysis with R Studio, Multivariate statistical analysis (PCA, Discriminant, Cluster Analysis) and path analysis (Path Analysis). Based on the evaluation of the participants, this workshop is very useful for them and it is hoped that there will be a follow-up workshop

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the influence of CSR on CVs, analyze the influence of profitability on and analyze the influence of profitability as a moderation variable on the relationship between CSR and CV. This study used a data analysis panel of 9 issuer companies in the SRI-Kehati index from 2010 to 2020. In this study, partial CSR could not influence the CV. The results showed that when interacting with CSR, ROE will affect the relationship between CSR and CV significantly and positively. In other words, it can also be concluded that profitability (ROE) can moderate the relationship between CSR and CV. Thus, CSR does not directly affect the CV; other supporting factors such as ROE are needed to influence CSR to affect the CV.

Abstract

Expansionary Fiscal Policy in the form of Deficit Fiscal is still being debated due to differences in views regarding the effect of budget deficits. The Ricardian Equivalence disciple argues that Deficit Fiscal Policy has a neutral impact on consumption. In contrast, Non-Ricardians (Keynesian and Neoclassical) argue that Budget Deficit Policy affects Private Consumption. Government policies affect private consumption through deficit fiscal policies such as budget deficits, government spending, taxes, and government debt. This study analyzes the effect of the fiscal deficit on consumption and observes the existence of the Ricardian Equivalence View in Indonesia. The estimation model used is the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) through IRF and VD testing with time series data from 1980-2018. The results showed that the Budget Deficit Policy had a significant positive effect on private consumption, where the Fiscal Deficit shock was responded positively by Private Consumption. So that the Ricardian view does not apply in Indonesia and is more inclined to the Keynesian view. The positive response continues in the long term permanently, where 58.42% of the variation in the formation of the Private Consumption indicator (in period 10), is a Budget Deficit.

Abstract

The increase in CO2 emissions has led to a rise in global temperatures. The rising CO2 emissions in ASEAN need further examination concerning the variables influencing this increase. This study aims to test and obtain empirical evidence on the determinants of CO2 emissions in six ASEAN countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam) during the period 2000–2021. The factors considered in this study include Economic Growth (GGDP), Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), Total Population (POP), Fossil Energy Consumption (EF), and Renewable Energy Consumption (GET). This research employs panel data regression using both time series and cross-sectional data. The Chow and Hausman tests were conducted to determine the appropriate model, and the fixed-effect model was selected as the best fit. This research demonstrates that GET has an insignificant relationship with CO2 emissions, whereas GGDP, FDI, POP, and EF have significant relationships with CO2 emissions. In conclusion, considering all the independent variables in this study that affect CO2 emissions, future efforts should focus on finding ways to control these variables to reduce CO2 emissions.

Abstract

The banking industry in Indonesia is one of the backbones of the economy which has an intermediation function, namely channeling funds collected from the public in the form of savings and distributing loans or credits to the real business sector in efforts to develop businesses. This research aims to determine the effect of credit risk as measured by Non Performing Loans (NPL), interest rate risk as measured by Net Interest Margin (NIM) and liquidity risk as measured by Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) on profitability as measured by Return On Assets (ROA) and Return On Equity (ROE) of banking, especially Bank Group Based on Core Capital (KBMI) 4 in Indonesia before the Covid-19 pandemic (quarterly period 2015-2019) and during the Covid-19 pandemic (quarterly period 2020-2022). The data analysis method used in this research uses panel data analysis, Random Effect Model (REM) using the Eviews version 12 statistical program. The results of the analysis in this study show that credit risk as measured by NPL has a significant positive influence on profitability as measured by ROA, interest rate risk as measured by NIM has a significant positive influence on profitability as measured by ROA, liquidity risk as measured by LDR has an insignificant influence. on profitability as measured by ROA and during the 2020-2022 Covid-19 pandemic, changes in profitability as measured by ROA had an insignificant influence, credit risk as measured by NPL had a significant positive influence, interest rate risk as measured by NIM had an influence which is not significantly negative, liquidity risk as measured by LDR has a significantly positive effect. Then credit risk as measured by NPL has an insignificant positive effect on profitability as measured by ROE, interest rate risk as measured by NIM has a significant positive effect on profitability as measured by ROE, liquidity risk as measured by LDR has a significant positive effect on profitability as measured with ROE and during the 2020-2022 Covid-19 pandemic, profitability as measured by ROE had an insignificant influence. Keywords: NPL, NIM, LDR, ROA, ROE, KBMI, Covid-19 pandemic, credit risk, interest rate risk, liquidity risk.
