Abstract

The implementation of educational policies in education as during emergency period of the Corona virus disease (Covid-19) includes home and online learning, which requires the use of supporting technology such as cellphones, computers, and tablets. The increasing number of hours spent on laptops or cellphones will have a variety of consequences, one of which is musculoskeletal issues. According to direct interviews, 3 out of 5 respondents had muscle issues after attending online lectures on a laptop or smartphone. The goal of this descriptive research was to describe the description of musculoskeletal symptoms caused by the usage of laptops or cellphones among students in the HKK StikesI study program's 2019 class. Time and place From April to November 2021, this study was conducted at STIKesI Padang with a population of 90 students from the 2019 HKK study program. A total sampling method was used to collect data using a Nordic Body Map questionnaire that was sent via an internet form. According to the results, 12.2 percent of respondents had moderate to severe musculoskeletal symptoms. Students with musculoskeletal difficulties should take a break after online learning and stretch their muscles to avoid uncomfortable learning positions and settings when studying online.Keyworlds: Learning online (SFH), Laptop, Musculoskeletal System (MsDs).

Abstract

One of the things that influences behavior is perception. If workers' perceptions of workplace hazards/risks are low, they are more likely to engage in risky behavior and cause workplace accidents. The goal of this study is to examine if there is a link between worker perception and risky behavior among high-altitude workers working on the Kerinci Merangin Hydroelectric Power Plant development project. A cross sectional research design used in this study, which uses quantitative approaches. From April to August 2021, this study was conducted in the Kerinci Merangin Hydro hydropower project, which has a population of 65 persons. The total sampling approach was selected in this research. SPSS software is used to process the data. According to the data, 58.5 % of workers at heights have a positive perception, whereas 41.5 % have a negative perception. When it comes to the unsafe action variable, 53.8 % of workers at heights are acting safely, while the remaining 46.2 % are acting unsafely. The bivariate test resulted in a p-value of 0.026, indicating that there is a significant relationship between perception and unsafe action.Keywords: Perception, Unsafe Action, and Worker at Height.

Abstract

Officially, community-managed gold mining activities are not permitted by the government, either at the provincial or district levels. One of the most troubling problems for the community around the Unlicensed Gold Mining (PETI) location is the use of toxic hazardous materials (B3), namely; mercury (Hg). The purpose of this study was to determine the description of knowledge and attitudes of unlicensed gold mining workers (PETI) regarding water pollution in the Batang Hari River in Nagari Pintin Kayu, Koto Parik Gadang District, Ateh, South Solok Regency. The design of this research is descriptive. This research was conducted in Nagari Pintin Kayu, Koto Parik Gadang Diateh District, South Solok Regency, which was conducted in October 2020, the population in this study were all Unlicensed Gold Mining (PETI) workers in Nagari Pintin Kayu, totaling 48 people. All populations were used as research subjects with total sampling technique. Questionnaire measuring instruments and univariate data analysis were presented in the form of frequency distribution tables and percentages. The results of the study were more than half of the 29 people (60.4%) had low knowledge about water pollution of the Batang Hari River and more than half of the 26 people (54.2%) had a negative attitude about water pollution of the Batang Hari River. Nagari Pintin Kayu, Koto Parik Gadang District, Ateh, South Solok Regency, to raise awareness about river water pollution due to illegal gold mining.

Abstract

Maintenance is an activity to maintain factory equipment facilities, make repairs or adjustments / replacements needed so that there is a satisfactory production operating condition in accordance with what is planned. The maintenance department is in charge of maintaining the machines and other tools related to the production process. The purpose of this research is to see the description of unsafe action on the workers of the Maintenance Division of PT. Semen Padang Dumai Factory Unit. The design of this study uses descriptive quantitative methods, namely describing or describing the unsafe action of the maintenance workers at PT. Semen Padang Dumai Factory Unit Riau Province. The sample used in this study is total sampling, totaling 19 respondents. The results of this study indicate as many as 63.15% of the Maintenance Division workers have done unsafe action. Among them are lifting weights with awkward body positions such as lifting in a stooped position, joking with colleagues at work, and having repaired work equipment that is currently operating.
