Abstract

The agriculture sector is one of the leading sectors that plays an important role in supporting the county’s economy. However, the main problems in the agricultural sector today are the decline in land area and quality of human resources, limited fasilities such as farmer capital, equipment and technology support and agricultural institutions. The aims of this study was to determine the role of farmer groups and farmer members in the application of tecnological innovations in farming. The research method used is descriptive qualitative using a likert scale to analyze the role of groups and members of farmers. Members and administrator’s group were used as our research sample. The results showed that the roles of farmer groups were grouped into three categories, they were very instrumental in providing services, playing a role in the field of business, and palying a role in assiting agricultural technology innovation. Meanwhile, the role of members in the application of agricultural technology is quite instrumental.

Abstract

The rose flower, as a commodity widely cultivated in Musuk District, possesses great potential to boost both regional and local economies. Despite the significant potential of rose flowers, it has not yet been optimized by the community and government. The lack of community knowledge regarding the existing potential is one of the factors contributing to the suboptimal production of these rose flowers. The aim of this research is to identify the potential of rose flowers and analyze strategies for developing the existing rose flower potential in Musuk District. The method used in this research is a descriptive qualitative approach. Informant selection technique utilized snowball sampling. SWOT analysis was the analytical method employed to determine the condition of the rose flower potential and to formulate strategies for its development and economic improvement. The SWOT analysis results indicate that the rose flower potential is in Quadrant V, suggesting that the rose flower is in a stable condition but lacks a strong competitive advantage. Strategies to optimize the rose flower potential include diversifying rose flower products, expanding the market, and conducting replanting to rejuvenate old rose plants to increase production. Efforts to enhance the economy through rose flower potential involve product diversification into items like rose chips, rose tea, rose syrup, and rose water.

Abstract

Sampah rumah tangga masih menjadi isu utama dalam pengelolaan lingkungan, salah satunya dipicu oleh rendahnya kesadaran masyarakat dalam melakukan pemilahan serta pemanfaatan sampah. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dirancang untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat, sekaligus mendorong perbaikan kondisi ekonomi dan sosial melalui penerapan pemanfaatan sampah berbasis pemberdayaan di Desa Baturetno, Kabupaten Bantul. Metode yang digunakan meliputi penyuluhan pemilahan sampah, pelatihan pengolahan sampah organik melalui budidaya maggot (Black Soldier Fly), pelatihan daur ulang sampah anorganik menjadi produk ecobrick, implementasi program, serta pendampingan keberlanjutan. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan menunjukkan terjadinya peningkatan kesadaran yang diikuti dengan perubahan perilaku masyarakat dalam pengelolaan sampah. Selain itu, masyarakat mampu mengolah sampah organik secara mandiri dan menghasilkan maggot yang memiliki nilai ekonomi. Dampak ekonomi yang diperoleh berupa tambahan pendapatan sebesar Rp35.000 per bulan serta penghematan biaya pengelolaan sampah sebesar Rp50.000 per bulan, sehingga total peningkatan ekonomi mencapai Rp85.000 per bulan. Pemanfaatan sampah anorganik melalui ecobrick juga menghasilkan produk bernilai guna yang berpotensi dikembangkan menjadi usaha kreatif. Secara keseluruhan, program ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan pemberdayaan masyarakat mampu meningkatkan kemandirian, kesejahteraan, serta mendukung pengelolaan lingkungan yang berkelanjutan.
