Abstract

This study explores the relationship between computational thinking and Polya's problem-solving in mathematics learning. This research is a library research study. The research stages consist of collecting data through books, national journals, and international journals, reducing data, presenting data, and making conclusions. This study is important to do because computational thinking and problem-solving are skills that are very crucial and needed in the era of society 5.0. Both abilities are very important to be developed in learning mathematics, especially in elementary school. Even so, there is little attention to developing computational thinking skills in mathematics learning. Computational thinking and Polya's problem-solving are two interrelated things. In computational thinking, problem understanding occurs in abstraction, decomposition, algorithmic thinking, evaluation, and generalization. The problem-solving planning process occurs in abstraction and decomposition. The implementation of the solution plan occurs in algorithmic thinking and evaluation. Meanwhile, a re-examination occurs in the evaluation and generalization aspects.

Abstract

Kesulitan mahasiswa magister pendidikan dasar dalam memperoleh referensi berupa buku yang sesuai dengan RPS mata kuliah Konsep Dasar Matematika SD mengakibatkan proses pembelajaran tidak terlaksana secara maksimal. Maka dari itu, dilakukan penelitian dengan tujuan mengembangkan buku ajar Konsep Dasar Matematika SD yang valid dan praktis. Penelitian berjenis Research and Development (R&D) ini menggunakan model Borg & Gall yang terdiri dari delapan tahap yang meliputi pencarian potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data awal, desain buku ajar, validasi desain, perbaikan buku ajar, uji coba buku ajar, perbaikan buku ajar, dan uji coba pemakaian. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, uji validasi buku ajar memperoleh persentase sebesar 91% (sangat valid). Sementara itu, pada uji kepraktisan memperoleh persentase sebesar 92,7% (sangat praktis). Persentase tersebut mengalami peningkatan pada uji coba pemakaian dengan perolehan persentase sebesar 93,5% dengan kriteria sangat praktis. Maka dari itu, buku ajar Konsep Dasar Matematika SD terbukti valid dan praktis. The difficulty felt by master students of basic education in obtaining book references that are by the RPS for the Primary School Mathematics Concepts course resulted in the learning process not being carried out optimally. Therefore, the study was carried out to develop a valid and practical Primary School Mathematics Concepts textbook. This Research and Development (R&D) type study uses the Borg & Gall model which consists of eight stages that include searching for potentials and problems, collecting initial data, textbook design, design validation, textbook repair, textbook testing, textbook repair, and trial use. Based on the research results, the textbook validation test obtained a percentage of 91% with very valid criteria. Meanwhile, the practicality test obtained a percentage of 92.7% with very practical criteria. This percentage has increased in trial use, with a percentage of 93.5% with very practical criteria. Therefore, the Primary School Mathematics Concepts textbook proved to be valid and practical.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 mempunyai dampak besar terhadap pembelajaran matematika di sekolah dasar. Adapun dampaknya yaitu siswa kesulitan memahami materi matematika, guru kesulitan menjelaskan materi matematika kepada siswa, kurangnya penggunaan media pembelajaran matematika berbasis online, dan sebagian besar media pembelajaran berbasis online membutuhkan fasilitas jaringan yang memadai dan membutuhkan biaya yang tidak sedikit. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk membantu meningkatkan pemahaman matematika sekolah dasar melalui aplikasi GeoGebra. Guru diberikan informasi terkait penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis online dengan bantuan aplikasi GeoGebra sehingga dapat mempermudah proses pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode pendekatan fungsional, pelatihan, dan pendampingan. Pada awal pengabdian, kurang dari 10% guru yang mengetahui tentang aplikasi GeoGebra, namun setelah dilakukan pendampingan dan monitoring evaluasi menunjukkan hasil yang signifikan dan mencapai 92%. Para guru sangat antusias dan semangat dalam mengimplementasikan aplikasi GeoGebra dalam pembelajaran sesuai dengan materi dan tingkatan kelas yang diajarkan. The Covid-19 pandemic has had a major impact on learning mathematics in primary schools. The impact is that students have difficulty understanding mathematics material, teachers have difficulty explaining mathematics material to students, lack of use of online-based mathematics learning media, and most online-based learning media require adequate network facilities and cost a lot of money. Therefore, this service activity aims to help improve primary school mathematics understanding through the GeoGebra application. Teachers are given information regarding the use of online-based learning media with the help of the GeoGebra application so that it can facilitate the learning process. The method used is the method of functional approach, training, and mentoring. At the beginning of the service, less than 10% of teachers knew about the GeoGebra application, but after mentoring and monitoring evaluations showed significant results and reached 92%. The teachers were very enthusiastic and passionate about implementing the GeoGebra application in learning according to the material and class level being taught.
