Abstract

The establishment of the Bantarsari village library is one of the objectives of the Community Partnership Program entitled PKM, an Information Technology-Based Enterprise Crystal GuavaVillage in Bantarsari Village, Rancabungur, Bogor, West Java. The purpose of establishing a village library is to improve the quality of human resources by providing printed and electronic information sources that are managed by the library by utilizing information technology. The method of implementing community service activities involves three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation that supports the Smart village concept. In the preparation phase which includes an analysis of the needs of the village library and procurement of collections following the information needs of the Bantarsari village community. Furthermore, at the implementation stage in the form of training on the management and utilization of information technology-based village libraries for village officials and some community members. At the evaluation stage, the service activity is in the form of monitoring community service activities and evaluating indicators of the achievement of activities. The results of the community service activities besides the availability of a physical library that provides sources of information according to the needs of the villagers are also available a school library management application based on the SchILS (School Integrated Library System) in which there is already a collection of electronic school books from the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia from elementary school level, middle, and high school. The system can be accessed free of charge by all Bantarsari villagers through mobile or computer media using the village intranet network.

Abstract

The use of information and communication technology (ICT) in libraries is mandated by Law No. 43 of 2007 on Libraries. Unfortunately, many school libraries find it difficult to carry out this mandate. The SMK Bina Pangudi Luhur Library is one of them. Revitalizing the SMK Bina Pangudi Luhur Library aims to provide information access and library services based on information and communication technology (ICT). This community service activity method is carried out in three stages, preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The preparation stage was carried out by analyzing the needs of the SMK Bina Pangudi Luhur Library. The implementation stage includes installing computer hardware and software, online and offline training, and data entry for the collection of the SMK Bina Pangudi Luhur Library. The evaluation phase includes evaluation and mentoring activities. The result of this community service activity is the availability of an automated library management system based on the School Integrated Library System and Barcode System. This activity has also succeeded in adding to the availability of digital information sources in electronic school books and electronic folklore books that can be accessed through devices at the SMK Bina Pangudi Luhur Library. Teachers and employees also gained new knowledge about library management based on the School Integrated Library System and Barcode System. It can be a provision for running library operations by utilizing information and communication technology (ICT).

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to measure and analyze usability evaluation on the SLiMS Version 8 Akasia work page interface using the Nilsen's Attributes of Usability questionnaire method which consists of 5 indicators, namely Learnibility (easy to learn), Efficiency (efficient), Memorability (easy to remember), Error (failure), and Satisfaction (satisfaction). This type of research is descriptive with a quantitative approach. The limit of this study only discusses the usability level of the SLiMS 8 Akasia back office interface, not only on other interface pages in the SLiMS Version 8 Akasia application. The samples chosen were staff or librarians who were accustomed to using the SLiMS Version 8 Akasia application to support their daily work. The results of tabulation and analysis of respondent data stated their agreement on each indicator statement of Learnibility, Efficiency, Memorability, and Satisfaction. Meanwhile, respondents stated that the answer was neutral on the Error indicator
