Abstract

Fennel plants are plants that have various traditional properties, such as facilitating breast milk or lactagogum. The aim of this research was to give ethanol extract of fennel fruit to increase the level of the hormone prolactin in lactating mice, so that the milk produced was increased. Subjects consisted of 12 postpartum female rats, divided into 1 control group (1% CMC Na) and 3 treatment groups (doses of 100, 500 and 1000 mg / Kg BW). Fennel fruit extract was given orally for each group for 14 days, after the treatment of blood samples were taken and centrifuged, the serum was read by Elisa Reader. The data obtained were analyzed using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, one-way ANAVA and Tukey's Multiple Comparison (post hoc test). Fennel fruit extract given from a dose of 100; 500 and 1000 mg / kg BW can significantly increase levels of the hormone prolactin (p 0.05) in nursing mice, respectively by 42.11; 44.26 and 43.83 ng / mL compared to controls (32.64 ng/mL).

Abstract

ABSTRAKPropolis adalah zat yang terdiri dari campuran resin, serbuk sari dan lilin tanaman yang dikumpulkan oleh lebah madu. Selain itu propolis mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder seperti flavonoid yang berpotensi sebagai antioksidan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya potensi antioksidan dari ekstrak etanol propolis. Uji kualitatif aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak etanol propolis dilakukan menggunakan pereaksi DPPH (2.2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi perubahan warna larutan DPPH dari unggu menjadi kuning pada ekstrak etanol propolis panen 6 bulan dan 1 tahun. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak etanol propolis panen 6 bulan dan 1 tahun memiliki potensi sebagai antioksidan.Kata kunci : Antioksidan; Propolis; DPPH.ABSTRACTPropolis is a substance consisting of a mixture of resin, pollen, and plant wax collected by honeybees. In addition, propolis contains secondary metabolite compounds such as flavonoids that have the potential as antioxidants. This research was conducted to know the potential or potential antioxidants of propolis ethanol extract. A qualitative test of antioxidant activity of propolis ethanol extract was conducted using DPPH reagents (2.2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl). The results showed that there was a discoloration of DPPH solution from Purple to yellow in propolis ethanol extract harvested 6 months and 1 year. Based on these results can be concluded that propolis ethanol extract harvest 6 months and 1 year has the potential as an antioxidant.Keywords : Antioxidant; Propolis; DPPH

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has the most plant biodiversity in the world, so that students and the government can take advantage of this biodiversity in preventing or adding complementary therapies to a disease. This utilization effort can increase the socio-economic level of Indonesian students. This service is carried out to be a solution to provide information and understanding to vocational students about the use, efficacy and safety of medicinal plants to assist the treatment process by utilizing the use of traditional medicinal plants, which schools only receive this information. So that vocational school graduates can later open their own business in the development of traditional medicines by knowing in advance the benefits, properties and safety of these traditional medicines. The method used in this service is through providing information on medicinal plants that are used as a preventive and promotive effort in treating existing diseases. This service is carried out to provide benefits, efficacy and safety to students of SMK Putra Bangsa Salatiga. Students get information about how to use medicinal plants in their environment so that they can be used if they have graduated or not

Abstract

Kelurahan Cacaban adalah mitra dalamProgram Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) yang merupakan salah satu RT yang terdapat di Kelurahan Cacaban di Kota Magelang, dimana lingkungan disekitar RT 03 RW 09 merupakan lingkungan perkampungan padat huni ditengah Kota Magelang. Kendala dalam pengabdian ini masih kurang kesadaran warga tentang potensi sampah organik dan anorganik serta pengetahuan warga dalam pemilahaan sampah organik dan anorganik di lingkungan setempat. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran warga RT 03 RW 09 Kelurahan Cacaban, sehingga dapat memilah dan mengelola sampah organik daan anorganik. Pemateri menggunakan metode presentasi dalam memberikan informasi tentang konsep pemilahan sampah organik dan anorganik secara interaktif kepada warga RT 03 RW 09. Materi yang dipresentasikan merupakan tentang perbedaan sampah organik dan anorganik serta bagaimana cara memanfaatkan sampah tersebut berdasrkan jenis sampah dan hasil pengelolaan sampah organik. Hasil kegiatan berupa pemaparan materi tentang sampah organik dan anorganik, serta pelatihan pemilahan sampah organik dan anorganik. Berdasarkan kegiatan yang sudah dilakukan para warga mampu untuk memilah sampah sesuai dengan jenisnya apabila seluruh kendala dapat diatasi.
