Abstract

This study is aimed at analyzing the instructional desgin for the teaching of English at SMP Muhammadiyah I Kartasura 2013 academic year. In this research, there are nine components of instructional design investigated, namely: (1) learning objective, (2) syllabus, (3) roles of instructional material, (4) classroom procedure, (5) classroom technique, (6) teacher’s role, (7) learner’s role, (8) media, and (9) evaluation model. The type of the study is descriptive qualitative especially naturalistic approach. In this research, the data are devired from event, informant, and field note. There are three techniques of collecting data, namely: observation, interview, and document. The techniques of analyzing data are collecting data, data reduction, data display, and verification conclusion. The result of the study, such as: (1) The general objective is to deveop students’ individual knowledge, character, skill for independent life and sustainable education. The specific learning objective is to develop students’ communicative competence with four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing; (2) The type of syllabus is notion functional syllabus; (3) the roles of instructional materials are as a resource for presentation materials, for learner practice, and for stimulation of classroom activities; (4) the classroom procedure used are Engagement, Exploration, Explanation, Elaboration and Evaluation and Genre Based Approach; (5) the teacher’s role are facilitator, organizer, manager, assessor, planner and motivator; (6) the media used in teaching learning process is used textbook and picture as printed media, video and images showed by using LCD.

Abstract

This research aims at finding out the kinds of addressing terms manuscript and the reasons of using addressing terms used in Tangled Movie Manuscript. The type of this research is a descriptive qualitative research which takes a document oriented as the method of collecting data. By this method, the researchers uses Tangled movie manuscript as the data source, and the data taken are the expressions which contain addressing terms. The rate of addressing terms use first name is the biggest. Theresult of the research shows that there are five kinds namely, addressing using name (fist name, full name, and last name), addressing using intimacy, (3) addressing using kinship, (4) addressing using respect, and (5) addressing using mockery. Thestudy find seven reasons of addressing terms used in Tangled movie manuscript were showing solidarity, intimacy, mockery, power, respectful, and anger.

Abstract

Edmodo is one of educational technologies that aims at providing teachers with tools to help them communicate with their students and parents. It can be used to help students to raise their motivation in learning English especially in reading ability. This research aims to identify the potentials and challenges of using Edmodo on reading ability. This research used qualitative descriptive design. This research is paper based research. The researcher carried out the information about Edmodo tools then discussed with the research before. The researcher focus on the benefit of using edmodo in teaching learning process. The writer carries out a qualitative research inthis research. The result of the research shown that Edmodo can be engage effectively to create inovative blended-learning. First, Edmodo is a useful and helpful tool to teach and to learm English ability particularly in reading ability. Second, Edmodo helps teachers to control and maintain their students’ learning process. Third, Edmodoprovides the overview and transparancy of students’ progress and achievement. Fourth, Edmodo provides a feature for the students to build good communication with theirteacher.

Abstract

This study is aimed at analyzing the learning strategies used by male and female students in developing English at Sahid University of Surakarta. This study is a qualitative research in the type of case study. Seventh grade students participated as the respondent to fill the questionnaire and ten students (5 male and 5 female) as the respondents of the interview. The qualitative data are obtained from the result of questionnaire, interview and classroom observation and the document. The data collected of interview and observations are presented in the form of tables. Source and technique triangulations are used to get the trustworthiness of this data. Furthermore, Flowchart Model proposed by Miles and Huberman is applied in this study. The result of the study , such as (1) The male and female students use all kind of strategies in the different frequency (1) The female students tend to use all type of the strategies more frequently than the male students.

Abstract

An autonomous learning emphasizes learners’ responsibility in their own learning process. Nonetheless, it does not mean that learners’ learn by themselves without teacher’s guidance. Thus, teachers must understand the concept of autonomous learning, their own competence, and their approaches to develop learners’ autonomous learner. The objectives of this study are to identify the teacher’s perception about autonomous learning and the teacher’s approaches to develop autonomous learning for the learners. The participants of this study are an English lecturer and students at the second semester of 2017/2018 academic year. A case study is applied in this qualitative research. The qualitative data are obtained from interview and observation.The findings show that (1) the teacher agrees that autonomous learning will give positive impact to the learners’ learning process as long as they consistent to read up, realize that learning is for their need and can collaborate with the teacher during teaching learning process. It is because autonomous learning is not the only one factor that influences the learners’ intelligence. It is one of learners’ ways in their learning process. Hence, the teacher is still needed to help learners in learning process. (2) The teacher mostly uses teacher-based approach and learner-based approach as his approach to develop the learners’ autonomous learning. It happens because between the teacher and the learners are interdependent each other. Furthermore, the teacher needs to be more closed to the learners so he can motivate themintrinsically. (3) The teacher realizes that he must teach, educate, and motivate the students. It is line with the concept of 2013 curriculum, i.e. the shift of teacher-centeredness to students-centeredness. The main teacher’s responsibility is in supporting students become actively involved in teaching learning process. Thus, in developing students’ autonomous learning, the teacher cannot only function as the source of knowledge for his students anymore.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan, menganalisa serta menelaah secara mendalam kepemimpinan kyai untuk melakukan perubahan  pondok pesantren  dengan melihat konsep perubahan pondok pesantren Ta’mirul Islam Surakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif phenomenology. Pendekatan ini dipilih karena dalam penelitian ini peneliti akan mendiskripsian secara rinci serta mendalam mengenai gambaran kondisi yang sebenarnya terjadi di lapangan. Data kualitatif diperoleh dari hasil wawancara, observasi kelas dan dokumen.  Sumber dan teknik triangulations digunakan untuk mendapatkan kepercayaan dari data ini. Selanjutnya, Flowchart Model yang diusulkan oleh Miles dan Huberman diterapkan dalam hasil study. Hasil penelitian, maka ditemukan bahwa: (1). Dalam penelitian ini peneliti menemukan konsep kepemimpinan kyai dalam melakukan perubahan di situs pondok pesantren Al-Muayyad dan Ta’mirul Islam Surakarta meliputi beberapa hal yaitu; Pembaharuan visi dan misi, perubahan kurikulum, Perubahan Isi/subtansi, perubahan metode pendidikan, perubahan kelembagaan dan perubahan tenaga pengajar/ustadz dan ustadzah. Temuan formal pada penelitian ini adalah Kyai dalam melakukan perubahan pada model pondok pesantren yang meliputi; changing structure (kelembagaan, kurikulum, subtansi), changing technology (perubahan metode pendidikan, sarana dan prasarana), changing people (visi-misi dan tenaga pendidikan).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan serta menganalisa secara detail konsep manajemen dan pembaharuan yang dilakukan kyai pada Pondok Pesantren Al Muayyad Surakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian studi kasus pada pondok pesantren Al-Muayyad Surakarta. Pendekatan ini dipilih karena dalam penelitian ini peneliti akan mendiskripsian secara rinci serta mendalam yang khusus menganalisa gambaran kondisi yang sebenarnya terjadi di Pondok pesantren Al-Muayyad Surakarta. Data kualitatif diperoleh dari hasil wawancara, observasi kelas dan dokumen. Penulis menggunakan Sumber dan teknik triangulations digunakan untuk mendapatkan tingkat validitas yang tinggi dari data ini. Selanjutnya, dalam teknik menganalisa data, Penulis menggunakan Interakif Model yang diusulkan oleh Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian, maka ditemukan bahwa: (1). Dalam penelitian ini peneliti menemukan konsep kepemimpinan kyai dalam melakukan perubahan di situs pondok pesantren Al-Muayyad meliputi beberapa hal yaitu; 1. Perubahan visi dan misi, 2. Perubahan kurikulum; berasal dari lokal pondok, kemenag, kemendiknas, melakukan pembelajaran bahasa asing, dan ilmu komputer, 3. Perubahan isi/Subtansi; pembahasan ilmu agama dengan kurikulum gontor, bahasa Asing, pelajaran agama, materi umum, bahasa inggris dkk, 3. Perubahan metode pendidikan; terdapat sistem sekolah formal berjenjang, hafalan, musyawarah, ceramah, system modern, study banding, seminar, penggunaan media, hafalan, demonstrasi, ekperimen, 4.Perubahan sarana dan prasarana; modern, memiliki laboratorium, komputer, LCD, 5.Perubahan Kelembagaan; lembaga pondok dan sistem madrasah, jama’ah qiraatul qutub madrasah, gedung pembelajaran, 6. Perubahan tenaga pendidik; harus memiliki kualifikasi khusus dibidangnya, jika guru umum harus minimal S-1dan diutamakan S-2, jika mengajar ilmu agama harus merupakan lulusan pondok yang jelas dan memiliki syarat-syarat tertentu.

Abstract

Kelurahan Cacaban adalah mitra dalamProgram Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) yang merupakan salah satu RT yang terdapat di Kelurahan Cacaban di Kota Magelang, dimana lingkungan disekitar RT 03 RW 09 merupakan lingkungan perkampungan padat huni ditengah Kota Magelang. Kendala dalam pengabdian ini masih kurang kesadaran warga tentang potensi sampah organik dan anorganik serta pengetahuan warga dalam pemilahaan sampah organik dan anorganik di lingkungan setempat. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran warga RT 03 RW 09 Kelurahan Cacaban, sehingga dapat memilah dan mengelola sampah organik daan anorganik. Pemateri menggunakan metode presentasi dalam memberikan informasi tentang konsep pemilahan sampah organik dan anorganik secara interaktif kepada warga RT 03 RW 09. Materi yang dipresentasikan merupakan tentang perbedaan sampah organik dan anorganik serta bagaimana cara memanfaatkan sampah tersebut berdasrkan jenis sampah dan hasil pengelolaan sampah organik. Hasil kegiatan berupa pemaparan materi tentang sampah organik dan anorganik, serta pelatihan pemilahan sampah organik dan anorganik. Berdasarkan kegiatan yang sudah dilakukan para warga mampu untuk memilah sampah sesuai dengan jenisnya apabila seluruh kendala dapat diatasi.
