Abstract

Abstract

This research focuses on the school’s vision and mission in achieving teaching and learning activities in special education elementary school in Kedungkandang. Researchers argued that the implementation of the school’s vision and mission is very important in learning activities. Every school has a purpose to be reached. A school is not only a place for transferring knowledge from the teachers to the students, but the school is also a knowledge internalization for the students and the teachers in developing their life. This is supported by the opinion of an Indonesian education expert, Ki Hajar Dewantara, who said that schools are parks, parks do not scare children, but parks are fun places for learning. It states that school is a fun place where everyone feels free to absorb the knowledge that he/ she has gained and the individual can express himself at the same time. Each individual can learn how to count, read, moral, and art as well as each individual get the greatest opportunity to create his own world through what he/ she learns. Based on that opinion, the researcher concludes that the implementation of the school's vision and mission will determine the direction of education to be achieved. Therefore, phenomenological analysis is needed to analyse the vision and mission applied at Kedungkandang Special Education Elementary School in realizing teaching and learning activities in which the students are children with difable.

Abstract

This study focuses on social media and hoax. The writer argues that hoax has huge effects on language structure in social media, especially on the truth that is delivered in social media language. Languages that are delivered in social media include both verbal and non-verbal. In order to know the truth in the language used in social media, careful observation is needed. This statement is strengthened by Emanuel Kant who says that something that is disclosed in a certain language is never a pure object that is stand alone, neutral, and autonomous. Truth always depends on the mindset and diction of a human as a subject. This implied that every language in social media is not neutral and autonomous. Here, the writer concludes that truth in social media language is not absurd moreover if the language is only written for personal interest that puts aside real truth like a hoax. Therefore, philosophical language analysis is needed to analyze truth in social media.

Abstract

Uneven student collaboration and low levels of critical thinking remain challenges for teachers in Grade IV, Phase B at SDN 14 Tontang, Sintang Regency. This study aims to enhance student collaboration through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. PBL is grounded in the use of real-world problems as learning anchors that foster positive interdependence, encouraging students to actively construct knowledge through discussion and collective role negotiation. This Classroom Action Research involved 20 students and was conducted over two cycles under the theme “Jesus as the Fulfillment of God’s Promise.” Cycle I focused on “God’s Promise of Salvation in the Scriptures,” while Cycle II emphasized “The Fulfillment of God’s Promise in the Person of Jesus Christ.” Each cycle followed four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and evaluation. Collaboration indicators included equitable active participation, reduced student dependency, and collective negotiation. Data were collected through observations of affective collaboration and written tests measuring cognitive learning outcomes. The findings revealed a significant improvement in collaboration, with active participation increasing from 64.4% in Cycle I to 86.9% in Cycle II. Cognitive learning outcomes also improved, rising from 74.7 to 85.75. These results demonstrate that the PBL model effectively enhances student collaboration by emphasizing affective aspects within the learning process.
