Abstract

Abstract Smallholder farmers maintain beef cattle based on previous experience and information from fellow farmers. Success in livestock business is influenced by several aspects, both internally and externally. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of resource support on the development of smallholder beef cattle farming business. The research was conducted in Jetis Village, Curahdami Sub-District, Bondowoso District. The research variables consist of livestock farming business development (Y), economical resources (X1), social resources (X2), and environmental resources (X3). Methods of data collection is done by observation and survey. Data analysis was performed using the Partial Least Square (PLS) method using the SmartPLS 2.0 application. The results showed that livestock farming business development consisted of 4 (four) indicators, economical resources consisted of 5 (five) indicators, social resources consisted of 5 (five) indicators, and environmental resources consisted of 4 (four) indicators. The conclusion of the study shows that economical resources, social resources, and environmental resources have a positive and significant 38.9% effect on the development of smallholder beef cattle farming business. Abstract

Human Resources (HR) of dairy farmers is a potential value owned by farmers for the sustainability of their livestock farming business. HR has several indicators that can be measured and cannot be measured, based on their nature, they can change according to their conditions. This study aims to examine the influence of dairy farmers' human resources on sustainable livestock farming development. The research variables consisted of human resources of farmers (X), the ecological dimension (Y1), the economical dimension (Y2), the social and cultural dimension (Y3), the institutional dimension (Y4), and the technological dimension (Y5). The research was conducted at KUB (Joint Business Group) Tirtasari Kresna Gemilang, Malang District. Data analysis using by SPSS 26.0 method. The results showed that the economical dimension was positively and significantly influenced by the HR of dairy farmers by 0.104, the social and cultural dimensions was positively and significantly influenced by the HR of dairy farmers by 0.205, the institutional dimension was positively and significantly influenced by the HR of dairy farmers by 0.203, and the technological dimension was positively and significantly influenced by the HR of dairy farmers by 0.247. The conclusion of this study is that the human resources of dairy farmers have an effect on sustainable livestock farming development, especially the economical, social and cultural, institutional, and technological.

Abstract

Usaha peternakan sapi potong rakyat merupakan usaha peternakan skala kecil yang dikelola secara tradisional dan memiliki akses sumber daya yang terbatas namun umumnya dijalankan secara berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh aspek kerentanan usaha sapi potong rakyat terhadap pembangunan peternakan berkelanjutan. Variabel penelitian terdiri dari pengaruh aspek kerentanan (X) dan ke lima dimensi pembangunan peternakan berkelanjutan yang terdiri dari dimensi ekologi (Y1), dimensi ekonomi (Y2), dimensi sosial dan budaya (Y3), dimensi kelembagaan (Y4), dan dimensi teknologi (Y5). Penelitian dilakukan di Desa Purnama, Kecamatan Tegalampel, Kabupaten Bondowoso Provinsi Jawa Timur. Metode penelitian dilakukan dengan observasi, Focus Grup Discussion (FGD) dan survei. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa aspek kerentanan usaha ternak sapi potong rakyat berpengaruh negatif pada 5 (lima) dimensi pembangunan peternakan berkelanjutan, namun secara signifikan berpengaruh terhadap dimensi ekonomi, sosial dan budaya, serta teknologi. Kesimpulan penelitian ini ialah kerentanan usaha ternak sapi potong rakyat harus mendapat perhatian dari berbagai pihak sebagai upaya menuju pembangunan peternakan berkelanjutan.
