Abstract

Makalah ini bertujuan untuk mengajarkan kepada siswa bagaimana memahami sebuah teks dengan menggunakan teknik. Di sini penulis menggunakan RSQC2 (Recall, Summarize, Question, Connect and Comment) teknik. Teknik ini dianggap penulis dapat membantu siswa dalam memahami dan menyimpulkan teks yang telah dibacanya. Melalui teknik ini guru dapat mengarahkan kemampuan siswa untuk mengambil poin-poin penting dari sebuah teks, kemudian menyimpulkannya dalam sebuah kalimat. Setelah itu siswa mampu menjawab pertanyaan-pertanyaan yang dianggap sulit bagi siswa dan mneghubungkannya dengan kesimpulan yang telah mereka buat. Selain itu, siswa juga bisa memberikan komentar tentang proses belajar mengajae yang telah terlaksana.Dalam pembuatan makalah ini, sebelumnya penulis berpedoman kepada minimnya kemampuan siswa dalam pemahaman membaca yang banyak penulis temui pada waktu praktek mengajar di salah satu Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP Negeri 10 Padang). Di sini penulis melihat siswa sangat terbentur dalam memahami sebuah teks bacaan, kemudian menyimpulkan isi bacaan sehingga siswa sulit untuk menyelesaikan soal-soal yang berkaitan dengan teks yang telah dibaca. Berdasarkan masalah di atas, penulis menemukan teknik yang lebih baik untuk siswa maupun guru dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa dalam membaca dan menyimpulkan sebuah teks bacaan. Di sini penulis menggunakan teks narrative sebagai salah satu teks yang ada dalam kurikulum bahasa Inggris untuk Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP).

Abstract

Abstract This research aim to describe the problem solving ability of students in solve of fraction story problem in term of their learning style. The research method used descriptive method with case study. The subject in this research were eight students 7th grade of SMP Negeri 7 Pontianak that are 2 students who have diverger learning style, 2 students who have assimilator learning style, 2 students who have converger learning style, and 2 students who have accomodator learning style. The result of the data analysis showed that the problem solving ability of students in solve of fraction story problem are different depending on their learning style. The problem solving ability of students in solve of fraction story problem who have  assimilator learning style able satisfy all the indicators of problem solving that are understanding the problem, devising a plan, carrying out the plan, and looking back. Student who have converger learning style able satisfy all the indicator of problem solving, but there is one student who is less able satisfy part  indicators of problem solving, students who have diverger learning style only able satisfy some indicat ors of problem solving, and students who have accomodator learning style able satisfy two indicators of understanding the problem, while other indicators are less satisfy even not fulfilled. Abstract

This research identifies the role of UNICEF in dealing with child soldiers in the Central African country. The research also explains in detail the root causes of conflict and the consequences of the conflict occurred in the Central African country. UNICEF as one of the world institutions that fight for children's rights, has made many changes, working with communities and influencing governments. in Central Africa. UNICEF has provided significant funding to build facilities for the protection of child victims of conflict in central Africa. UNICEF also strive to connect and engage all parties to the conflict to not use children as soldiers as well as the target of violence. Protection and legal training for actors involved in the legal handling of the child. UNICEF has also been working with the African Union regional institutions UN agencies monitor violations.Keywords: UNICEF, Central Africa, child soldiers.
