Abstract

ChemDraw Software has been used as a medium for learning hydrocarbon materials in drawing 2D and 3D chemical structures at SMK N 1 BP BR. The purpose of using the learning media is to improve the teacher's ability to draw chemical structures and draw a series of practical tools. In addition, to improve the quality of chemistry teaching so as to facilitate students' understanding of abstract chemistry learning. The stages of service research that have been carried out include: interviews, providing guidance, direct practice, and holding question and answer activities during service activities. After using the ChemDraw software, the teacher's response was enthusiastic and active during the training process, seen from the number of active participants asking the implementing team. The teacher hopes that after the training on the use of ChemDraw software to students, abstract chemistry learning will be more interesting and challenging through direct student involvement in dynamic illustration learning and interactive visuals.

Abstract

Technological development in education requires an educator to be creative and innovative in creating an interactive learning atmosphere on hydrocarbon material which is classified as abstract and is considered difficult for students to understand. Technology-based learning that has been developed in this research is to use ChemDraw software as an alternative to interactive learning to replace conventional methods. The research method used is using the pretest and posttest methods with the aim of seeing the effect of using ChemDraw software on increasing student learning outcomes on hydrocarbon material. The test data were analyzed using the N-Gain test, t test and effect size. Based on the results of the calculation of the pretest and posttest scores, there was an increase in the average score of class X students at SMK N 1 BP. BR from 64.9 to 89.15, while the average value of N-Gain is 0.69 or 69%. This shows that the application of the ChemDraw software learning media is proven to be effective in improving the learning outcomes of students in the medium category. In the t-test obtained -1.68 < tcount < 1.68 and the occurrence of rejecting Ho and accepting H1 which shows that there is a difference in the average score before and after using the software. While the results of the analysis of the effect size of 0.87 which is quite strong. This shows that there is a strong influence and good effectiveness in the use of ChemDraw software on hydrocarbon materials to improve student learning outcomes. ABSTRAKPerkembangan teknologi dalam dunia pendidikan menuntut seorang pendidik menjadi kreatif dan inovatif dalam menciptakan suasana belajar interaktif pada materi hidrokarbon yang tergolong abstak dan dianggap sulit dipahami oleh siswa. Pembelajaran berbasis teknologi yang telah dikembangkan pada penelitian ini ialah dengan memanfaatkan software ChemDraw sebagai alternatif pembelajaran interaktif pengganti metode konvesional. Metode penelitian yang digunakan ialah menggunakan metode pretest dan postest dengan tujuan melihat penggaruh penggunaan software ChemDraw terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada materi hidrokarbon. Data hasil tes dianalisis menggunakan uji N-Gain, uji t dan effect size. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan nilai pretest dan posttest, terjadinya peningkatan nilai rata-rata siswa kelas X SMK N 1 BP. BR dari 64,9 menjadi 89,15, sedangkan nilai rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,69 atau 69%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan media pembelajaran software ChemDraw terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik dengan kategori sedang. Pada uji t diperoleh -1,68 < thitung < 1,68 dan terjadinya tolak Ho dan terima H1 yang menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan rata-rata skor sebelum dan sesudah penggunakan software. Sedangkan hasil analisis effect size sebesar 0,87 yakni tergolong kuat. Hal ini menunjukkan adanya pengaruh yang kuat dan efektifitas yang baik dalam penggunaan software ChemDraw pada materi hidrokarbon terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

Waste oil treatment through the distillation method with the addition of sulfuric acid and sodium hydroxide media was successfully carried out. The purpose of this study was to obtain quality diesel fuel, study the effect of the concentration of chemical media used, and determine the effectiveness of using spritus substitute fuel. Waste oil treatment is carried out using a distillation method that involves the process of precipitation, filtration and addition of acid and alkaline media. After going through the processing process, the resulting products are analyzed and tested physically and chemically such as density, specific gravity, flash point, fire point, calorific value, and kinematic viscosity. The results of physical test research and parameters were obtained at optimum conditions of use using H2SO4 and NaOH concentrations of 6%. Physical tests obtained brownish-yellow fuel while parameter tests on density tests were 817 km/m3, specific gravity was 0.801, flash point and fire point were 61°C and 72°C,while kinematic viscosity was 4.99 m2/s. The results of this test show that the fuel obtained tends to have diesel quality, so that the fuel has the potential and effectiveness to be used as a substitute for spritus in patching motorcycle tires

Abstract

The production of motorcycle vehicles has increased every year along with the increase in population and human needs. The impact of increasing vehicle production has led to an increase in waste oil as a byproduct. In order for the volume of waste oil to be reduced, human empowerment efforts are needed in utilizing and processing this waste to create valuable products. One of the steps that can be taken is to provide coaching and assistance to home mechanics in Kangkung Ilir Village. This assistance in processing waste oil to home mechanics has provided new knowledge for home mechanics on how to process waste oil into fuel. The fuel obtained from this assistance has proven effective in being used as fuel in the patching process of punctured motorcycle tires. The efficient use of spritus replacement fuel has a good ability as fuel, because in each patching process only 2 mL of fuel is needed, besides that it is able to provide service benefits for mechanics.

Abstract

This study aims to 1) explore how applying differentiated learning methods affects students' learning outcomes, 2) analyze the impact of differentiated learning on student learning outcomes, and 3) determine the impact of implementing differentiated learning on student learning outcomes. This study was conducted with a unique group pretest and posttest design. This study uses pre-treatment testing and post-treatment testing. Data collection in this study was carried out using a test in the form of an experiment. Differentiated learning is applied based on the student's learning style. Visual learning style uses images, auditory learning style uses audio from learning videos, and kinesthetic learning style uses simple training. After applying the differentiated learning method, learning results increased by 38.39% with an N-Gain value of 0.67, showing that the criteria are moderate and applied effectively for students. Based on the hypothesis testing results from the conducted study, P<0.001 was obtained with an effect size of 2.28, indicating a broad classification. Thus, the implementation of differentiated teaching has impacted and influenced the learning outcomes of students specializing in lighting in grade VIII SMP
