Abstract

This article wants to explain how the development of science. Especially those related to Islam and Science. Every civilization makes efforts to continuously develop their knowledge (Religion and Science). Western and Eastern civilizations, especially Islam, which continue to compete to catch up with the West feel this dilemma. For this reason, it is necessary to have a Transfer of Knowledge process or even a cross between two scientific poles. Sardar is present as a Muslim thinker who wants to reconcile the two with the idea of ​​​​Islamic Science. this idea as self-criticism and offer in Islamic epistemology. Self-criticism in the sense of Islamic scholarship is present as a critique of the idea of ​​Islamization of Science initiated by al-Faruqi and the offer of Islamic epistemology as a new idea to bring together Islam and Science. This offer is a new scientific alternative for the Muslim generation who were born in the modern century, especially for PTKIN which will change its status from IAIN to UIN. Sardar plants are considered relevant to the new UIN in finding their knowledge which does not have two different poles, namely Islam and Science. By using Sardar's idea, the new UIN has a distinctive scientific style that other Islamic institutions do not have.

Abstract

Culture in the community environment develops and is preserved by the community. More and more these cultures interact with other cultures. These interactions lead to a cultural crisis, in which social changes occur that lead to a decline. Ismail Raji al-Faruqi is one of the leading Muslim scholars who initiated Islamic culture. This article aims to describe the idea of Ismail Raji al-Faruqi's Islamic culture. The idea is expected to be able to answer the phenomenon of the cultural crisis. By using descriptive analysis, this article shows that al-Faruqi's idea of Islamic culture basically focuses on seeing people's awareness of Islamic values. Muslims are expected to realize that they are creatures of God.

Abstract

Radicalism is synonymous with violence in carrying out its actions. Even today the radicalism movement in the name of religion as a vehicle to achieve their goals. There needs to be an effort to tackle radicalism in Indonesia. The effort is to instill religious tolerance. This study aims to examine the concept of tolerance according to Nasaruddin Umar. That in instilling a tolerant attitude is expected to be able to overcome radicalism. This study uses a qualitative method, with a literature review approach. Books, scientific articles, and other sources that are believed to be sources of research data. This study found that tolerance according to Nasaruddin Umar is respecting and respecting the rights of others. In implementing tolerance, he is committed to tackling radicalism in Indonesia. Several efforts were made to establish the Nasaruddin Umar Office and to promote the importance of tolerance in society through social media.Keywords: Nasaruddin Umar; radicalism; tolerance
