Abstract

Along with the development of the era, analog telephones have been replaced by IP Phones whose communication range can be wider and more flexible. Therefore, analog telephones are almost forgotten because of the limited communication range. With the addition of ITG (Internet Telephony Gateway) then analog telephones can communicate in VoIP networks. This research will discuss the analysis of voice quality in the communication process between telephone sets via ITG in a VoIP network based on the shape of the input and output, the amplitude response to frequency changes and the delay. Data retrieval is done by using a transmission test set as a substitute for human voice and knowing the amplitude value generated every time there is a change in frequency and an oscilloscope as a tool to determine the shape of the input and output waves as well as the delay. The results of this study indicate that delay generated by communication between analog telephones is <1 ms. When viewed from the form of the information signal generated from communication between telephone sets, that is, the shape of the input and output information signals are both sines, so it can be said that the information signal has not decreased in quality. The amplitude response resulting from frequency changes in communication between analog telephones is, the greater the value of the communication frequency.

Abstract

Many studies and research are continuously being developed to improve the quality and capability of video compression. Compression of the video is done with the help of a video codec, in the video there are several types of video codecs including VP8 and H.265. These two codec models have very high resolutions for video. In implementing video calls, the determination of the codec has not been able to prove the results of video quality. To be able to know the quality of the resulting video, codec quality testing can be done through pixel conversion which can later be analyzed for video quality when making calls. In this study, a comparison of the performance of the VP8 and H.265 codecs will be carried out using the FreePBX server as a Raspberry Pi-based Video Call Server and is expected to find out which codecs are appropriate to use for the video call process. Based on the results of the comparison study between the two codecs, it shows that the value of the QoS parameter includes packet loss codec H.265 with a resolution of 720 lower with a value of 0.95%. The throughput value of the VP8 codec with 720p resolution is higher with a value of 1275.36 Kbps. The delay value in the H.265 codec with VGA resolution lower with a value of 6.78 ms. The results of the pixel conversion test show that the H265 codec has a higher PSNR value of 55.64 dB and a lower MSE value of 5.66.

Abstract

VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) is a technology that allows its user to transmit voices using an internet network, although the technology uses the internet as its transmission medium VoIP still uses cable for most of its applications resulting in complicated cable management if not managed properly, this method can be optimized via wireless transmission for more efficient mobility and system configuration. This research aims to find out the capabilities of Leaky Feeder cable as a medium for VoIP transmission. A leaky feeder system consists of a single cable that runs along its designated space. This cable has gaps that allow the radio signal to leak into or out of the cable along its entire length meaning it can cover a larger area than the usual point-to-point transmission using cable. The parameters observed in particular are Signal Strength, Bit Rate, Packet Loss, Delay, and Throughput, the data obtained is taken quantitatively and its average value is calculated to ensure the system efficiency. Signal Strength trial shows an average value of -60.25 dBm, while also having an uplink and downlink of each 14.86 Mbps and 12.79 Mbps, Bit Rate trial shows that the more clients are served the less bandwidth each client will have , The Packet Loss trial shows an outstanding 0.71% loss, the delay trial shows an average of 20.5ms delay with -40dbm signal quality, and finally Throughput trial shows the highest value at 388Kbps when performing one call with -65dbm signal quality . This shows that the application of Leaky Feeder cable use on VoIP transmission is in a good category. Using Leaky Feeders in buildings can also reduce the number of Access Point installations required to cover the same area.
