Abstract

The purpose of this study were to describe the implementation of discovery learning model in science learning,  learning motivation, and to examine the influence of the application of discovery learning model toward the motivation of the fifth grade students of SDN Mannuruki in science subjects.  Research is a quantitative research which  used true experimental design with pre-test-post-test control group design.  The result of this research shows that: (i) The implementation of discovery learning model at the experimental group followed the syntax of discovery learning model namely observation, constructing questioning, making hypothesis, collecting data and making conclusion; (ii) The motivation of the fifth grade students of SDN Mannuruki in science learning categorized as medium before applying the discovery learning model; (iii) There is a significant effect of the implementation of discovery learning model toward the motivation of the fifth grade students of SDN Mannuruki in Science learning where the significant value is 0.0015 < α 0.05.. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of the implementation of discovery learning model toward the motivation of the fifth grade students of SDN Mannuruki in science learning

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah strategi pendekatan konseling pengendalian diri dapat mengurangi perilaku merokok pada klien dewasa awal. Strategi Pengendalian diri memiliki 4 aspek yaitu behaviour control, cognitive control, decisional control, dan emotional control. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif, menggunakan metode eksperimen. Desain yang digunakan adalah One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design dengan jumlah populasi sebanyak 60 orang. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling dan diperoleh sampel sebanyak 30 orang. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa kebiasaan merokok dapat dikurangi setelah mendapat perlakuan dengan menggunakan strategi pendekatan pengendalian diri. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan uji taraf signifikansi, nilai p = 0.000 dengan angka probabilitas 0.05, jadi p = 0.000 < 0.05, yang berarti terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara nilai hasil pretest dan posttest. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah bahwa strategi pendekatan konseling pengendalian diri dapat mengurangi kebiasaan merokok pada klien dewasa awal.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to assess the critical thinking skills of adolescence students at junior high schools in Rantepao, particularly in the context of Christian education. This study employed a quantitative design research and using proportionate stratified random sampling method to select the sample. There are 66 students became the sample of this study. Data were collected through questionnaire that assessed the students' critical thinking skills based on the critical thinking indicators. The collected data then analyzed by using descriptive statistics calculation related to the variables of critical thinking skills. Result of this study found that adolescnence students at Junior High School in Rantepao have only a fair level of critical thinking skills in the context of Christian Education. This study highlights the need for improving students' critical thinking skills in the context of Christian Education. Teacher should foster students growth by growth by focusing on their learning process and offering appropriate activities. Â
