Abstract

This research is motivated by high public attention in the case of online prostitution Vina Garut, which is reporting about her the case brings up gender discrimination, and the media that actively contribute to these cases is suara.com. In this study, the authors pick nine news the period 15 August to 21 September 2019, which are then analyzed using Sara Mills's critical discourse analysis. From the results of the analysis, Vina is a woman who is at the same time is displayed as a negative character in this case. Apart from that, Vina is also positioned as an objectified party. This is seen in the way the media features news that highlighted gender discrimination. Researchers see that patriarchal discourse in Indonesia still positions women as people who have high news values but are also vulnerable to being positioned unevenly. Researchers also see that the media of the object of this article's research has tried to choose diction and arrange sentences in a balanced manner. But patriarchal ideological discourse is still seen in several narratives and readings of the production and consumption of public discourse in news portals in particular and discourse in public in general.

Abstract

This article discusses how media convergence has implications for the existence of local mass media in Banten, seen by media convergence technology and at the same time transforming to change as digital media by reconstructing editorial policies, media organizations, and media management. This article uses a case study research method on several online media in Banten. This study concludes that the policy of media convergence amid competition and the growth of the mass media business is the right step in developing and maintaining the existence of mass media in Banten. By implementing a convergence strategy in various fields, including the transformation of editorial policy which has implications for the mixing of editorial and non-editorial duties with the aim of equitable distribution of income. Meanwhile, changes in the form of information content presented no longer prioritize local issues, but rely on more general and viral issues.

Abstract

The research is based on finding out how the leadership style of a production house founded by college students named Label N. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Qualitative research with a case study approach seeks to describe data in words or sentences separated by categories to obtain conclusions. Sources of data were collected through in-depth interviews regarding the leadership style applied by Label N. In the leadership style, Label N tries to establish a democratic leadership style. However, this democratic leadership style which is similar to the "four Likert system leadership style" in the fourth system, can run more smoothly if all members' views can be open in accepting each other's opinions so that when discussion no debate causes conflict. Members are also advised to keep the main focus in the discussion so as not to get out of the topic being discussed. In addition, because this leadership style is the “four Likert system leadership style" in the fourth system, we must be able to respect ideas that are data from other members, this is intended to keep things conducive to the ongoing discussions. This leadership style is also referred to as "participatory", as it allows active participation and contribution from all members in decision making

Abstract

This research discusses how a leadership style in a mosque Islamic youth organization can create a conducive situation and be able to manage any conflicts that occur. This research uses Rensis Likert's theory of leadership style, namely, absolute rulers, semi-absolute rulers, advisors & invitees as well. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods, where this approach aims to provide a comprehensive and in-depth view of the subject under study, namely leadership style & conflict management in an Islamic youth mosque in Serang City. By taking the locus of a mosque Islamic youth organization, the author tries to analyze how the leadership style is applied by the mosque's Islamic youth organization. The results of the research in this article indicate that the leadership style carried out by the chairman of Risma Masjid At-Taqwa is a participatory leadership style that always involves its members to make decisions so that joint decisions are created. In addition, the chairman of Risma also sometimes provides motivation, advice, or guidance to its members to be more enthusiastic about carrying out their duties. The communication that is carried out is also two-way communication, where there is reciprocity between members and the leader, the communication is also open and interactive.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the meaning of Roland Barthes' Semiotics which include denotative, connotative, and mythical meanings. The film is directed by Bilall Fallah and Adil El Arbi and starred Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in the film Bad Boys for Life. This study used the descriptive qualitative method. The object of this research is several scenes in the film Bad Boys For Life. The results of this study found that in the film Bad Boys For Life, several scenes or scenes contain moral messages. Some of the moral messages that are divided through the scenes that the researcher chooses include; First, the law of karma that applies and the consequences of every action taken. The second moral message is how the family can be the main factor in shaping a child's personality, therefore parents must reflect something good in front of their children so that they become good children and are useful to their environment. Third, the doctrine that is carried out by parents can affect the condition of the child, the existence of fear, and the taking of the child's right to speak, the taking of the child's right to express his opinion because it is fixed by the doctrine expected by the parents.
