Abstract

Biopores are holes in the soil formed as a result of organism activity to increase water absorption, reduce the risk of runoff, and preserve the environment. Making biopore infiltration holes is advantageous because it is practical, economical, and environmentally friendly. This community service activity aims to provide educational counseling and technical training to civitas of SDN 2 Sungai Besar Banjarbaru through the installation of biopore infiltration holes to prevent and overcome run off particularly during the rainy season. This community service activity follows a three-stage methodology: survey and observation, socialization and technical training, and practice creating biopore infiltration holes. Based on the outcomes of the activities, participation and collaboration with the residents went well and cooperatively, and the application of biopore infiltration holes was made in two locations throughout the garden. Thus, this community service activity benefited and was shared with the civitas of SDN 2 Sungai Besar Banjarbaru, particularly in terms of knowledge and skill transfer through the creation of biopore infiltration holes to prevent and overcome run off independently and sustainably.

Abstract

This study analyzes the economic feasibility of Sebuku Market development through demand-side analysis in a disadvantaged archipelago region of South Kalimantan. Using a cross-sectional survey design with 262 respondents through stratified random sampling, the research employs multiple linear regression to identify spatial demand determinants. Results reveal exceptionally high public support (a 97% approval rate) and strong shopping interest (a mean score of 4.52/5.0). The regression model demonstrates excellent explanatory power (R² = 0.717, F = 71.342, p < 0.001), with seven market attributes and two control variables significantly influencing demand. Product quality exhibits the highest elasticity (β=0.243), followed by service quality (β=0.221), price affordability (β=0.198), and physical infrastructure (β=0.189). The distance variable shows negative elasticity (β = -0.112), confirming the presence of spatial constraints. Economic projections indicate annual turnover of Rp60 billion, aggregate income multiplier effect of Rp16.3 billion/year, and benefit-cost ratio of 1.63 in year one. The study validates market infrastructure as an effective growth pole for inclusive regional development, providing evidence-based policy recommendations to optimize investment in archipelagic contexts.

Abstract

Inundation can occur because the capacity of natural or artificial channels can no longer accommodate the flow of incoming rainwater. According to the 2015 Tanah Bumbu Regency Drainage Masterplan Review, almost all of the places that become puddles in Simpang Empat District are in residential areas, with a length of time of one inundation or until the rain stops with a height of ± 20 cm. The purpose of this plan is to analyze the planned flood discharge, evaluate the capacity of the drainage channel, recommend new channel dimensions, recommend infiltration well dimensions and create a new dimension layout in the planning catchment area. The analysis carried out in this plan is hydrological and hydraulics analysis with maximum daily rainfall data for 10 years (2012-2021). From the results of the calculation of the planned flood discharge it can be concluded that the minimum discharge is 0.06 m3/s in segment 14, while the maximum discharge is 0.20 m3/s in segment 12. This planning uses the Storm Water Management Model (SWMM) software, with using SWMM, the conditions that occur in the field can be modeled by incorporating the parameters recorded in the actual conditions. Improvement of the drainage channel by re-planning the dimensions of the channel, is recommended for segment 14 which is 0.52 m wide, 0.62 m high while for segment 12 which is 0.81 m wide and 0.86 m high. Abstract
