Abstract

One of the causes of newborn death due to complications in childbirth is premature rupture of membranes (PROM). Premature rupture of membranes can cause several complications in infants including prematurity, asphyxia, hypoxia, neonatal infection, morbidity and mortality. This study aims to identify the outcome of newborns with premature rupture of membranes at Wava Husada Hospital Kepanjen Malang. The research design used is descriptive quantitative with a retrospective approach. The sampling technique used is total sampling with a sample size of 150 respondents. The research variable is the description of newborns in mothers giving birth with premature rupture of membranes. The instruments used are medical records and checklists. The analysis used is descriptive analysis. The results showed that almost all of the babies born at term (83.3%), had normal baby weight (86.7%), had mild asphyxia (99.3%), none of the babies had newborn infections (100 %), premature rupture of membranes >12 hours (51.3%,) delivery by caesarean section (88.7%), and mothers who experienced PROM without other complications (74%). Pregnant women are expected to increase knowledge about PROM, prevention efforts, complications caused by PROM, and other conditions that aggravate these complications. The design used analytic survey with cross sectional approach, with a population of 80 respondents aged 1 year, with a sample of 67 respondents who met the inclusion criteria. The research instrument used a questionnaire and a Denver II sheet. Data were analyzed by logistic regression test with the results of the gender variable obtained ? value 0.013 and the care variable obtained ? value 0.044, then gender and parenting affect the language development in children aged 1 year. In an effort to reduce the prevalence of language delays in children aged 1 year, midwives should conduct early detection or monitoring language development that can be done by using Denver II to optimize children's language development. Abstract

Use of contraception plays an important role in reducing maternal mortality, especially for high risk fertile age women (FAW), but from several surveys the frequency of use of non-long-term contraceptive methods (non LCM) is still more dominant. Internal factors that play a role in decision-making behavior in the use of contraceptive methods are self efficacy. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of self efficacy with the use of contraceptive methods in high risk FAW. Analytic survey research design with cross sectional approach, with a population of 222 respondents, sampling using simple random sampling technique with a sample size of 56 respondents. The research instrument used a questionnaire. Data analysis used Yate’s Correction test. The results showed there was a relationship between self efficacy and the use of contraceptive methods at high risk FAW (p value 0.046), so it was concluded that the higher the self efficacy then FAW would choose the LCM method. Integrated efforts are needed to change the belief that high-risk FAW has a higher risk of complications, so it is necessary to use the non LCM contraception to prepare for a healthy pregnancy. Abstract

The COVID-19 emergency has narrowed the space for teenagers to get information and education about health. Easily accessible adolescent reproductive health education is very important because various research data shows adolescents are reluctant to have discussions with their parents regarding reproductive health problems. Objective: to increase adolescent knowledge about reproductive health during physical distancings. The method used is educational, participative and normative, through online activities with 4 meetings with adolescents in the village of Gunungrejo Singosari Malang. Prior to this, data was obtained: the average value of knowledge about reproductive health before (pre test) was in the good category (score 80), but there were still indicators of questions with sufficient value, namely knowledge of adolescent development and pre-conception preparation. After education through webinars, four times there was an increase in the knowledge score (score 89) with each item indicator categorized as good. Conclusion: community service in the form of health education through webinars can increase adolescent knowledge about reproductive health. Increased knowledge is expected to be followed by promotive behavior in the field of reproductive health.

Abstract

The rapid physical and psychological changes of adolescents bring several consequences, including risky behavior if they do not have a correct understanding of adolescent reproductive health. Peer cadres are one of the potential local resources in the village whose function can be optimized as a source of information. Objective: to increase the knowledge and skills of peer cadres in providing education to adolescents about reproductive health. Methods: the approach used in this service activity is educative and participatory, with a question and answer lecture method, demonstration and practicum through activities carried out offline for 2 times in Kalisongo Dau village, Malang Regency, with 5 peer cadres. The results of the activity: the assessment of the skills of peer cadres was carried out by means of observation when providing education to 20 teenagers, the score was in the good category (79). The knowledge of the audience before being given education by peer cadres was in the poor category (average 46) after education was obtained in the sufficient category (average 67). Conclusion: peer cadres already have good skills in educating and there is an increase in knowledge of the audience after education by peer cadres. The knowledge and skills of peer cadres need to be maintained and improved in a structured and sustainable manner in order to optimize their role as a source of information on adolescent reproductive health
