Abstract

Video clip is one of symbolic media functioning to deliver information to public. The research focuses on analysing the audio visual of Sambasunda’s video clip Tongtolang. The research aims to uncover the discursive and presentational symbol of Sambasunda’s video clip Tongtolang. The research applies Susanne K. Langer’s symbolic approach that is discursive and presentational. Discursive symbol is analyzed through music, lyric, and the visual of Sambasunda’s video clip Tongtolang. The presentational symbol is analyzed through the whole discursive symbols in the video clip. The result of the analysis shows that discursive and presentational symbol of Sambasunda’s video clip Tongtolang is a paradox expression of the Tongtolang lyric. When the character Bapa in the video clip practices or falls down to the polygamy, he actually goes up because of geting the girl he wants. The man falls to the above, meaning that he denies the truth he has been holding. He tries to fnd ‘the way to the above’. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study analyzes the audio-visual video clip of Tongtolang Sambasunda. The purpose of this study is to reveal the symbols in the Tongtolang Sambasunda video clip. Video clip is one of the symbolic communication media that functions as a conveyer of information to the public. This study uses Roland Barthes' symbolic approach, namely the "subject" of art experience, which remains and persists, is not the subjectivity of the person experiencing it, but the work itself. From the research results it is known that understanding (subtility intelligence), explication (subtility expicandi), and application (subtility applicandi) of the Tongtolang Sambasunda audio-visual video clip are paradoxical expressions of the lyrics of the Tongtolang song. That when the father character falls into the world of polygamy, he is actually rising because he managed to get the young girl he wanted. Man falls to the top, that is, opposes or denies the truth that he has so far adhered to, and he begins to struggle to find that "way up". When he falls, he is actually rising, Paradox. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini menganalisis audio visual video clip Tongtolang Sambasunda. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengungkap simbol dalam video clip Tongtolang Sambasunda. Video Clip merupakan salah satu media komunikasi simbolik yang berfungsi sebagai penyampai informasi terhadap publik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan simbolik Roland Barthes yaitu "Subjek" pengalaman seni, yang tetap dan bertahan, bukanlah subjektivitas orang yang mengalaminya, melainkan karya itu sendiri. Dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa pemahan (subtilitas intellegendi), eksplikasi (subtilitas expicandi), dan aplikasi (subtilitas applicandi) dari audio visual video clip Tongtolang Sambasunda merupakan ungkapan paradoks dari syair lagu Tongtolang. Bahwa ketika tokoh Bapa jatuh ke dalam dunia poligami sesungguhnya ia sedang naik ke atas karena berhasil mendapatkan gadis muda yang diinginkan. Manusia jatuh ke atas, yakni menentang atau menyangkal kebenaran yang selama ini dianutnya, dan mulailah ia berjuang untuk menemukan “jalan ke atas” itu. Ketika ia jatuh, sebenarnya ia sedang naik, Paradoks.

Abstract

Abstract The creative process of a work is something that needs to be studied in order to produce a comprehensive understanding of the creation of a work. With in-depth study, the creative process can be used as a lesson and carried out by other people who are interested in the creative process of a work. The work examined in this research is the screenplay for the film "Jalan Perkawinan" by Arthur S. Nalan which was the first winner of the screenplay writing competition held by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia in 2006. The scenario "Jalan Perkawinan" contains a travel story with a romance theme/wedding of different religions and nationalities with the background of a journey along Jalan Daendels from Anyer to Parukan. The research method uses qualitative research with data collection in the form of observation, interviews and literature study. After the data was collected, the scenario text was also studied in depth. The research findings showed that the "Pekawinan Road" scenario was written in the sequence, namely determining the idea, structuring the conflict and resolution, character development, determining the structure and writing stage, and the editing stage. Abstrak Proses kreatif sebuah karya merupakan hal yang perlu dikaji agar menghasilkan pemahaman yang komprehensif dalam penciptaan suatu karya. Dengan sebuah pengkajian yang dalam, proses kreatif tersebut dapat dijadikan pembelajaran dan dilakukan pula oleh orang lain yang berminat dalam proses kreatif suatu karya. Karya yang diteliti pada penelitian ini yaitu skenario film “Jalan Perkawinan” karya Arthur S. Nalan yang merupakan pemenang pertama dari sayembara penulisan skenario yang diadakan oleh Departemen Kebudayaan dan Pariwisata Republik Indonesia pada Tahun 2006. Skenario “Jalan Perkawinan” berisi cerita perjalanan bertema kisah asmara/pernikahan berbeda agama dan kewarganegaraan dengan latar perjalanan menyusuri Jalan Daendels dari Anyer sampai Parukan. Metode penelitian menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan studi Pustaka. Setelah pengumpulan data dikumpulkan, dikaji pula teks skenario secara mendalam. Dihasilkan temuan penelitian bahwa Skenario “Jalan Pekawinan” ditulis dengan urutan yaitu penentuan ide, penyusunan konflik dan penyelesaian, pengembangan karakter, penentuan struktur dan Tahap Penulisan, serta tahap editing.
