Abstract

During this pandemic, environmental hygiene needs to be maintained to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus and other diseases. Environmental cleanliness must be a concern for all aspects of the community. In Sungai Nangka Village, RT.10, waste management is still not optimal so it has a negative impact on environmental conditions and raises various environmental problems. To follow up on this waste problem, it is necessary to have a commitment with the community in their participation to be able to manage waste so that it can be something useful and reduce environmental problems. One of the innovations in dealing with this case is through managing waste starting from the source, which can be started from the waste bank. The waste bank itself is a place for sorting and collecting waste that can be recycled and reused so that it has beneficial economic value. Apart from the waste problem, the pandemic also has an impact on the education of children in Sungai Nangka Village. Currently, formal education activities are conducted online and school children are required to study from home. This makes it difficult for children to learn because they are unable to follow the material presented online. Learning difficulties can lead to a decrease in children's achievement. Children who have problems with learning can usually be seen from several factors, namely the achievement achieved by the class group is relatively low, the results are not balanced with the effort made, and are late in doing learning assignments. The implementation of this community service activity is expected to increase public understanding of handling environmental problems, and education for children in Sungai Nangka Village, RT.10.

Abstract

The use of technology has a significant impact to reduce the consequences of accidents. Sensors, small components that detect interactions experienced by various components, play a crucial role in this regard. This study focuses on how the MPU6050 sensor module can be used to detect the movement of people who are falling, defined as the inability of the lower body, including the hips and feet, to support the body effectively. An airbag system is proposed to reduce the impact of a fall. The data processing method in this study involves the use of a threshold value to identify falling motion. The results of the study have identified a threshold value for falling motion, including an acceleration relative (AR) value of less than or equal to 0.38 g, an angle slope of more than or equal to 40 degrees, and an angular velocity of more than or equal to 30 °/s. The airbag system is designed to inflate faster than the time of impact, with a gas flow rate of 0.04876 m3 /s and an inflating time of 0.05 s. The overall system has a specificity value of 100%, a sensitivity of 85%, and an accuracy of 94%.

Abstract

This research explores a sun tracking system for solar panels that affects the power output of the panels. To address this, a unidirectional sun tracking system is implemented to ensure the solar panels are perpendicular to the sun, thus optimizing solar radiation. Additionally, reflectors are integrated to capture more sunlight. This research aims to design the system of unidirectional sun tracking to enhance the power output generated by solar panels and compare its performance with stationary (static) solar panels. The results demonstrate that the system of sun tracking improves the power output of solar panels. However, when reflectors are used in conjunction with the sun tracking system, no significant increase in power output is observed. Moreover, solar panels equipped with the unidirectional sun tracking system exhibit a power increase of 52.06 Watts compared to stationary solar panels. This research indicates that employing a unidirectional sun tracking system with the addition of reflectors does not enhance power output but instead reduces it due to the increased temperature effect caused by the sunlight reflection from the added reflectors.

Abstract

The Dharma Bakti Waste Bank in RT. 55, Muara Rapak Subdistrict, is one of the waste banks that remains active in managing community waste. However, the utilization of organic waste is still limited to compost production, while alternative management methods, such as Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggot cultivation, have not been optimized. This community service program aims to enhance the utilization of organic waste through BSF maggot cultivation as an alternative feed for livestock, particularly catfish, which are already being farmed by residents. The method used in this program began with an awareness session on the benefits of maggot cultivation, followed by the construction of BSF fly cages, as well as hands-on training and practice on cultivation techniques for residents. The evaluation was conducted by measuring the increase in residents’ understanding before and after the training, along with a community satisfaction survey regarding the activities carried out. The results indicate a 17.98% increase in residents' understanding of BSF maggot cultivation, reflecting the effectiveness of the education and training provided. Additionally, the community satisfaction survey showed that 90% of residents were very satisfied, while the remaining 10% were satisfied. This initiative concludes that, in addition to providing valuable learning experiences for residents, it also empowers them in maggot cultivation through education and training, enabling better optimization of organic waste processing into economically valuable resources.
