Abstract

This article aims to assess and monitor the implementation of lesson study course Basic Concepts in Science, focused further to see the quality of the learning process for the faculty implemented and problems faced by teachers in an effort to improve the professionalism of teachers as educators as well as expected to enhance students' understanding of the material delivered by lecturers. Lesson study is a model of professional development of educators through collaborative learning and ongoing assessment to build a learning community. Lesson study implementation phases of planning, implementation, observation and reflection are implemented in 4 cycles with matter waves, wave propagation, optical instruments and lenses. Implementation results show that there are various problems that can reduce student interest in learning, such as lack of faculty approach taken in controlling students when the discussion took place and the lack of use of media and learning resources associated with the material. Based on the results of a reflection of cycle 1 to cycle 3, it is seen that the interest of students in cycle 4 for the better, where enthusiastic students in a better expression and active as well as more disciplined and respectful during the learning process takes place. The results of these activities proved that the implementation of lesson study can improve student comprehension of the material provided lecturers. So expect this activity to continue to be done on an ongoing basis in order to improve the professionalism of lecturers in their duties as educators. Keywords: Implementation, Understanding, lesson study

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out: improving students' understanding, teacher and student activities and responding to fourth grade students at SD Negeri 2 Kutablang on the Frame of Human Material with Team Assisted Individualization Learning models. The research approach used is a qualitative approach with a type of classroom action research. Data collection techniques are tests, observation sheets and questionnaires. The results showed that: (1) there was an increase in students' understanding of an increase, in the first cycle the percentage of completeness of 66.67% increased to 85.71% in the second cycle. In addition, it can also increase students' understanding in the first cycle of 67.62%, increasing to 77.38% in cycle II. There is an increase in teaching and learning activities between teachers and students has been going well. This can be seen from the results of the first cycle teacher observation of 77.88% and increased to 92.16% in the second cycle. While the results of student observation cycle I amounted to 71.26% and increased to 90.44%. In addition, after all the learning activities were carried out, the use of the Team Assisted Individualization learning model on the subject of skeletal studies in humans turned out to get a positive response from students.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' learning outcomes on the topic of biodiversity through the implementation of the Auditory, Intellectual, Repetition (AIR) learning model in fifth-grade at SD IT Muhammadiyah Bireuen. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection phases. The subjects of this study were 20 students. Data were collected through learning outcome tests, teacher and student activity observation sheets, and response questionnaires. The results of the study in Cycle I showed that teacher activity reached an average of 87.69% and student activity reached 82.09% (both in the excellent category), but classical learning completeness only reached 40% (8 out of 20 students) with a low average score. After improvements were made in Cycle II, a significant increase occurred in students' learning outcomes, with the classical completeness rate reaching 85% (17 out of 20 students). This indicates that the success indicator of 80% had been exceeded. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the implementation of the AIR learning model is effective in improving Science (IPA) learning outcomes on biodiversity materials for fifth-grade students at SD IT Muhammadiyah Bireuen.
