<![CDATA[This research aimed to describe the effectiveness of problem solving learning model to improve student’s flexibility thinking skills in acid-base subject matter. The population of this research was the students of class XI IPA SMA Al- Azhar 3 Bandar Lampung on academic year 2013/2014. The sample was taken by purposive sampling technique and obtained class XI IPA 4 and XI IPA 5 as sample classes. This research used quasi experimental method with non equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The effectiveness of problem solving learning model was showed by the significant difference of n-Gain between control and experiment class. The result showed that the average n-Gain of flexibility thinking skill of control class and experiment class were 0,31 and 0,54 respectively. The hypothesis testing showed that problem solving learning model was effective to improve student’s flexibility thinking skills in acid-based subject matter.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model pembelajaran problem solving pada materi asam-basa dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir luwes siswa. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Al-Azhar 3 Bandar Lampung Tahun Pelajaran 2013/2014. Pengambilan sampel ini dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling dan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas XI IPA 4 dan XI IPA 5. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan non equivalent pretes-posttest control group design. Efektivitas model pembelajaran problem solving ditunjukkan oleh perbedaan n-Gain yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dan eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa rata-rata n-Gain keterampilan berpikir luwes siswa pada kelas kontrol sebesar 0,31 dan pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,54. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran problem solving efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir luwes siswa pada materi asam-basa.Kata kunci: asam-basa, keterampilan berpikir luwes, model pembelajaran problem solving]]>
