Abstract

Limbah jerami merupakan salah satu material yang sangat melimpah didaerah pedesaan, terutama di daerah yang menjadikan tanaman padi menjadi tanaman pokok dalam bercocok tanam. Di daerah pertanian yang subur dengan sistim irigasi yang lancar sepanjang tahun, mereka mampu panen padi tiga kali selama satu tahun, artinya tiap tiga bulan mereka panen. Jerami adalah batang padi sisa dari panen yang dibiarkan tidak dimanfaatkan selain sebagai makanan ternak atau sebagai media untuk tumbuh jamur merang. Berangkat dari latar belakang tersebut maka timbul satu permasalahan untuk mengangkat material sisa hasil panen padi yang melimpah tiap tahun ini menjadi lebih bernilai guna, baik secara material maupun fungsional. Tujuan dari pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah memberikan pelatihan atau pengetahuan kepada masyarakat tentang alternative pemanfaatan limbah jerami untuk souvenir yang lebih bernilai ekonomi. Metode yang digunakan menggunakan metode pelatihan dan pendampingan sampai menghasilkan produk yang layak jual. Hasil dari kegiatan ini berupa prototype atau model souvenir yang artistic yang memiliki nilai jual yang lebih.Kata kunci: Limbah, Jerami, Souvenir

Abstract

Community service activities are aimed at improving the competitiveness of the assisted partners in facing the market development. Potential development of this decorative lamp product is still very open. Both partners both use solid waste raw materials from surrounding industries. The first partner is a craftsman Solo Batik KALINDA lamp that uses the main material waste of furniture production. The second partner is a craftsman Solo RAIHAN CRAFT Decorative lamps that use the remaining threads of textile industry. Both partners are located in the Surakarta municipality. Design limitations, human resources, business networks, and limited number and types of equipment cause poor partners to take advantage of the business development opportunities of the two craftsmen. After accompaniment, the partners are expected to be able to be a strong craftsman, so as to increase production, design, so as to increase family income, then more to absorb the labor that comes from the surrounding community environment. This community service activity is carried out over a period of ten months. The planned activities are; workshop design, workshop on the use of production tools with appropriate technology, simple management training, workshop on promotional materials and marketing. After getting a good touch of design, proper management, modernization of production tools, attractive promotional media is expected to increase the competitiveness of partners in the face of the market.

Abstract

Furniture is an important tool used as a supporter for the smooth activities of teaching and learning in schools. Furniture that does not meet the rules of accessibility and ergonomics can cause the activities of its users to be disturbed. Research Beginner Lecturers aims to determine the accessibility and ergonomics of furniture in early childhood / kindergarten Al Abidin in Surakarta. Research is used to find out whether students have difficulty or ease when using the furniture. Ergonomic measurement is important to see if the object is suitable dimensinya with the needs required by the user, especially for students PAUD Al Abidin Surakarta. The object of research is the furniture contained in PAUD Al Abidin Surakarta. The method used in descriptive with qualitative approach supported by quantitative data (numeric), or can also be called double research strategy that is use of various method in solving a research problem. Quantitafif here uses numerical data which is the result of field measurement, then compared with referenced references, resource persons and analyzed based on researcher interpretation. The results of this novice lecturer’s research is accessibility data and implementation of ergonomics science that can be used as input to the manager PAUD Al Abidin IN Surakarta. The results of this novice lecturer’s study is also expected to provide the content of Egonomi, Interior Design and Furniture on Interior Design Study Program ISI Surakarta.
