Abstract

ABSTRACTThe use of steel slag has been widely used to increase soil strength. Steel slag is solid material from the process of refining molten iron in making steel which in the process uses furnace and using fuel from the air blown. The steel slag must be utilized cautiously because this material is categorized as B3 which is dangerous and toxic. The application that will be discussed in this research is “Literature Study of Mixing Clay and Sandstone with Steel Slag”. This analysis will be conducted by comparison of the data from research findings. The data used are primary and secondary. For primary data, the mixing of steel slag material is fulfilled by sandstone while this material is mixed with clay for secondary data. The experimet carried out from the data obtained are the CBR test, optimum moisture content (OMC), spesific gravity, maximum dry density, and atterberg limit. The results of data comparison; in addition of certain steel slag consist of a maximum number increase of CBR value. In addition, the growth of steel slag content can also increase spesific gravity of soil, and reduce plasticity, liquid limit and moisture content.ABSTRAKPenggunaan limbah baja telah banyak digunakan untuk peningkatan kekuatan tanah. Limbah terak baja merupakan limbah padat dari proses pemurnian besi cair dalam pembuatan baja yang dalam prosesnya memakai tungku dapur dan menggunakan bahan bakar dari udara yang ditiupkan. Limbah baja ini harus dimanfaatkan sebaik-baiknya karena bahan ini termasuk kedalam limbah B3 yang Bahan Berbahaya dan Beracun. Pemanfaatan yang akan dibahas dalam penelitian ini adalah Studi Literatur Pencampuran Material Tanah Lempung dan Pasir batu dengan Steel Slag. Di dalam penelitian ini, dilakukan dengan perbandingan data-data dari hasil penelitian. Data-data yang digunakan adalah data primer dan sekunder. Untuk data primer, pencampuran material limbah baja dilakukan dengan pasir batu sedangkan untuk data sekunder material ini dicampurkan dengan tanah lempung. Pengujian yang dilakukan dari data-data yang didapat adalah pengujian CBR, kadar air optimum, berat jenis butir, berat jenis tanah, dan batas-batas atterberg. Hasil dari perbandingan beberapa data yang didapat, pada penambahan kadar steel slag tertentu terdapat pertambahan nilai CBR paling maksimum. Selain itu, pertambahan kadar slag juga dapat meningkatkan berat jenis butir, dan mengurangi plastisitas, batas cair, dan kadar air.

Abstract

Investigation of soil is important to do in the planning of building construction such as foundations, piles, roads, etc. To find out the bearing capacity and parameters of the soil where a building will be built. Investigation of the soil can be done in various ways, one of which uses an electrical cone penetration test with pore water pressure. In the embankment project for the calculations on the soil so that it can be known about the settlement in soil and the length of time it reaches the hydrostatic level. Cone penetraton test is reqired and the results produce data in the form of cone resistance (qc), blanket friction (fs) and pore pressure (u) which will be processed in the CPET-IT program in order to produce soil parameters that will be used for soil settlement analysis. To find out the settlement of embankment soil, it will be supported by finite difference program. Results of studies on general is to find the effectiveness of embankment using prefabricated vertical drain (PVD) and without prefabricated vertical drain (PVD).AbstrakPenyelidikan terhadap tanah penting untuk dilakukan pada perencanaan konstruksi bangunan seperti pondasi, timbunan, jalan, dll. Untuk mengetahui daya dukung dan parameter-parameter tanah tempat akan dibangunnya sebuah bangunan Penyelidikan tanah dapat dilakukan dengan berbagai macam cara salah satunya adalah menggunakan  uji sondir elektrik dengan tekanan air pori. Pada proyek timbunan memerlukan perhitungan pada tanahnya agar dapat diketahui besarnya penurunan pada tanah dan lama waktu tanah mencapai keadaan hidrostatis. Sehingga dilakukan uji sondir secara elektrik dan dari hasil uji sondir menghasilkan data berupa tahanan konus (qc), gesekan selimut (fs) dan pore pressure (u) yang akan diolah kedalam program CPET-IT agar menghasilkan parameter-parameter tanah yang akan digunakan untuk analisis penurunan pada tanah.Untuk mengetahui besarnya penurunan pada tanah timbunan maka akan dibantu program berbasis elemen higga. Hasil studi secara umum menunjukkan seberapa besar efektivitas pada timbunan dengan menggunakan prefabricated vertical drain (PVD) dan tanpa prefabricated vertical drain (PVD).

Abstract

The rationale of this research was the issue of teachers’ motivation level in carrying out their jobs. Motivation might be affected by many factors including principal’s interpersonal communication. This qualitative field research aimed to investigate principal’s interpersonal communication, teachers’ job motivation, and factors that affected Principal’s Interpersonal Communication at Islamic Junior High School Siak Hulu, Kampar. The data were collected from six informants by applying observations, interviews, and documentation. Furthermore, the collected data were analyzed through four steps including data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion/results verification. Results showed that principal’s interpersonal communication was implemented through openness, empathy, support, and equality. In addition, teachers’ job motivation at Islamic Junior High School Siak Hulu, Kampar was indicated by their perseverance, passion, discipline, and fondness to challenge. Furthermore, principal’s interpersonal communication was affected by ability, capability, leadership model, work environment.

Abstract

Character education in early childhood plays a crucial role in forming a personality with noble and responsible morals since the early development period. Early age is a golden period where moral and ethical values can be instilled effectively through an approach that is appropriate to the stages of child development. This study aims to examine effective methods in teaching character to early childhood. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a library research approach. Data were obtained through literature studies from books, journals, and relevant research reports. The analysis technique used is content analysis, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the exemplary, habituation, and storytelling methods are effective learning strategies in instilling character values in children. Exemplary provides concrete examples of positive behavior, habituation trains children in good habits consistently, and storytelling instills moral values through fun media. With the application of the right method, character education can take place optimally and naturally in early childhood.
