Abstract

This research is a classroom action research that aims to improve student learning outcomes by applying Group Investigation method with real media aid on science subjects with teaching material“Simple Aircraft” for grade V students, semester II in SDN V Arjasa, academic year 2013/2014. Grade V students are consist of 9 people; there were 4 male students and 5 female students. The instruments used in this research are syllabus, RPP, and Student Worksheet. The data required forthis research obtained through interview process with grade V teacher, the topic was about student's learning process. It got to know how to invite students to be active and creative during the learning process in the classroom. The data was also obtained through the observation of application of Group Investigation method and the formative test for the subjects of Science “Simple Aircraft”. The other supporting data were field notes as well as photos of the activities. The Classroom Action Research was in 2 cycles. Cycle I consists of the stage of problem identification, planning, action, observation, and reflection. Cycle II consists of stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The result of the research showed that students’ outcome has increased and fulfill the minimum completeness criteria and classically completed.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pendekatan komunikatif terhadap hasil belajar Bahasa Indonesia siswa kelas empat di SDN 8 Mimbaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain kuasi-eksperimental melalui desain kelompok kontrol non-ekuivalen. Subjek penelitian adalah 66 siswa kelas empat yang dibagi menjadi kelas IV A sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan kelas IV B sebagai kelompok kontrol, masing-masing terdiri dari 33 siswa. Sampel ditentukan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes pilihan ganda yang telah melalui pengujian validitas dan reliabilitas. Dari 40 pertanyaan yang diujikan pada 58 siswa kelas lima, 15 pertanyaan memenuhi kriteria valid dengan koefisien reliabilitas KR-20 sebesar 0,7148 dan dikategorikan tinggi. Analisis data dilakukan melalui statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil uji normalitas menunjukkan bahwa data tidak terdistribusi normal, sehingga pengujian hipotesis dilanjutkan menggunakan uji Mann–Whitney U. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata skor posttest kelompok eksperimen mencapai 87,33, sedangkan kelompok kontrol memperoleh rata-rata 73,80. Selain itu, nilai signifikansi uji Mann–Whitney U berada di bawah 0,05, yang menunjukkan pengaruh signifikan penerapan pendekatan komunikatif terhadap hasil belajar bahasa Indonesia siswa kelas empat di SDN 8 Mimbaan. Dengan demikian, pendekatan komunikatif dapat digunakan sebagai strategi pembelajaran alternatif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar bahasa Indonesia di sekolah dasar.
