Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan ikan betok di berbagai habitat di lingkungan Danau Melintang Kalimantan Timur. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode survei selama musim penghujan, yaitu bulan November 2007 hingga Januari 2008. Stasiun pengamatan ditetapkan secara sengaja di perairan danau, sungai dan rawa banjiran (flood plain). Di setiap stasiun pengamatan tersebut, ikan betok (Anabas testudinus) ditangkap dengan alat tangkul, jaring insang dan keblat. Ikan contoh dihitung dan masing-masing diukur panjang total dan bobotnya. Hubungan panjang berat dan pendugaan pertumbuhan ikan betok di masing-masing habitat diamati. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil tangkapan ikan betok terbanyak di rawa. Pola pertumbuhan ikan betok jantan dan betina di habitat rawa berbeda, masing-masing mengikuti pola isometrik dan alometrik. Pola pertumbuhan ikan tersebut di sungai dan danau adalah alometrik, baik jantan maupun betina. Berdasarkan atas dugaan parameter pertumbuhan Von Bertalanffy, nilai K dan Loo untuk ikan betok adalah 0,73 th-1 dan 214, 2 mm di rawa, 0,66 th-1 dan 204,23 mm di sungai dan 1,30 th-1 dan 200,55 mm di danau. This research proposed to observe growth pattern of climbing perch (Anabas testudineus) in different habitats of Lake Melintang area, East Kalimantan Provincy. The research was executed using survey methods during rainy season, namely from November 2007 to January 2008. Sampling station was defined purposively in body of lake, river and floodplain area, respectively. In each station, the climbing perch was caught using lift net, gill net and trap (keblat). The fishes were numbered and measured for their total length and weight individually. Lenght and weight relationship and estimation of fish growth were calculated. The results indicated that the highest number of the climbing perch was observed in floodplain. Differences of growth pattern were observed for male and female of the fishes caught in floodplain, namely isometric and allometric respectively. However, there was no differences of the growth pattern in lake and river, following allometric growth. Base on von Bertalanffy equation, the values of K and Loo for climbing perch were 0.73 yr-1 and 214.2 mm; 0,66 yr-1 and 204,23 mm and 1,30 yr-1 and 200,55 mm for floodplain, river and lake, respectively.

Abstract

Coal mining activities openly cause the formation of mine pits and are currently used by the community for fish farming. This research aims to determine the histopathological status of gills, heavy metal content (Pb, Cd, and Fe) in tilapia fish (Oreochromis niloticus) and water bodies ponds. Samples were taken by purposive sampling technique at four locations with different ages, namely Senong Pit (5 years), Goldstar Pit (10 years), Bendang Galactic Pit (15 years) and Control. Measuring heavy metal content was carried out using AAS. Fish gills are processed by the paraffin method and hematoxylin-eosin staining. The results of the analysis of the heavy metal content of Pb, Cd, and Fe in surface water in all ponds are below the Class II Water quality standard based on the Provincial Regulation of East Kalimantan No. 02 of 2011. The value of heavy metal concentrations in sediments is higher than in water. Pb content in Tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) meat from all ponds is between 2.92 to 4.41 mg / kg, while Cd is between 0.02 to 0.03 mg / kg. The Pb metal content status of the results of this study is above the limit of heavy metal contamination determined by BPOM Decree No. 5 of 2018 which is 0.02 mg / kg, while the heavy metal Cd is still below the specified limit of 0.10mg / kg.The total content of Fe metal ions in fish meat is 83.64 up to 144.92 mg/kg bw These results indicate the total content of Fe ions is far above the safe limit standard for the presence of Fe contaminants in all food sources based on FAO / WHO (2011) of 0.8 mg/kg. Fish originating from all post-mining pond ages indicate damage to the histological structure gills which are characterized by damage to epithelial cells, changes in secondary lamella structures characterized by hyperplasia, destruction of secondary lamella structures and filaments, lamella aneurism and secondary lamella fusion. The results showed that histopathologically and bioaccumulation of heavy metals in fish meat from post-mining ponds showed unhealthy conditions.

Abstract

Traveling is an activity that can entertain and calm the heart and mind, so tourism activities are needed. Indonesia is very well known as a tourist spot, one of which is a tourist location that is a mainstay of tourism in the City of Bontang, namely Malahing Island. Malahing Island is one of the tourist sites in East Kalimantan and has many tourist objects. However, the management of tour packages is still based on entertainment for tourists. Therefore this service is carried out as a form of socialization of marine tourism education on Malahing Island so that tourists can add insight into the sea through tourism education. The activities include outreach to young tourists regarding maritime biota tourism education and introducing tourist attractions on Malahing Island. The outreach results regarding educational tourism found that in the category of understanding, as much as 77% of teenage tourists understood the content of socialization, and 23% in the type very well understood the socialization results. In contrast, the educational tourism interest survey results found that 69% were interested in traveling using the educational method, and as many as 31% of tourists were very interested. Young tourists are interested in traveling because educational tours can add insight to tourists indirectly. After all, the entertainment provided can be valuable as insightful information about marine tourism education.

Abstract

Optimalisasi pembangunan dalam sektor perikanan akan meningkatkan roda perekonomian masyarakat lokal. Hal ini dapat diketahui dengan analisis input-output dalam keterkaitan antarsektor ekonomi dari hulu dan hilir. Artikel ini memilih arah bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kontribusi sektor perikanan dalam pengembangan kawasan Propinsi Kalimantan Timur. Kajian ini menggunakan metode analisis berupa data sekunder dengan Tabel Input-Output (IO) transaksi domestik atas dasar harga produsen Provinsi Kalimantan Timur Tahun 2016 dengan klasifikasi 50 sektor. Kesimpulan dalam kajian ini adalah kontribusi nilai pengganda output pendapatan sektor perikanan dalam pengembangan wilayah Provinsi Kalimantan Timur masih kecil. Oleh karena itu, sektor perikanan bukan termasuk sektor unggulan dalam pengembangan wilayah di Provinsi Kalimantan Timur.
