Abstract

Pneumonia remains a serious problem as it is one of major causes in under-five children’s morbidity and mortality worldwide; however, it gets little concern, including in Indonesia. In Purworejo District, the finding coverage of this disease in community health centers is still low (3.7%), due to the fact that it may be caused by inappropriate care seeking behavior. This study was conducted to know the relationship between mother’s educational level and care seeking behavior for under-five children’s pneumonia. This was an observational study with cross sectional design. The study was conducted in community health centers and hospital in Purworejo District. The subjects were 126 mothers with pneumonia under-five children brought to appointed community health centers and hospital fulfilling inclusion criteria. Independent variable was mothers’ education and dependent variable was mothers’ care seeking behavior for pneumonia under-five children. The study used primary data analyzed by univariable analysis, bivariable with chi-square, and multivariable with logistic regression. Prevalence of bad behavior respondents was 59.52%. Mothers with lower educational level had risk of 2,38 times higher in bad care seeking behavior than those with higher educational level with 95%CI=1,02-5,51. Confounding variable contributing significant influence was economic status and dissemination of information. Mothers’ education is related to care seeking behavior for pneumonia under-five children. Abstract

Most of the mothers still use diapers on their children when they can make a rash around his bottom. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the role of mothers with successful toilet training for children ages toddler in Play Group Tarbiyatush Shibiyan Mojoanyar Mojokerto.This type of research used Crossectional design. The indenpendent variable in this study is the role of parents and dependen variable is the success of toilet training. Population in this study were all mothers with children ages toddler in Play Group Tarbiyatush Shibiyan Mojoanyar Mojokerto, and 34 people selected as samples using the purposive sampling technique. Data analyzed using chi square test. The results obtained most of the respondents expressed support in the successful toilet training as many as 14 respondents (56%) and most of the respondents succeeded in potty training children as many as 17 respondents (68%). Chi square test results obtained sig count (ρ) = 0.004 <0.05 so that H0 is rejected, which means there is the influence of the role of mothers with successful toilet training for children ages toddler in Play Group Tarbiyatush Shibiyan Mojoanyar Mojokerto. The necessary patience and attention to a psychic so that toddler can successfully make toilet training. Health workers must provide health education to parents with young children about science-related health of children with toilet training so that parents can find out and provide a supporting role in her toddler.

Abstract

Banana and coconut water contains high levels of potassium which can help lower blood pressure by binding sodium in the blood to be removed through the urine. This study aims to prove the effect of the combination of banana and coconut juice on blood pressure in Panti Wreda Mojopahit Mojokerto. Researchers use quasy research design. The sample is hypertensive patients as many as 20 people were selected using purpoosive sampling, which are divided into 2 groups of 10 people were given the combination juice of young coconut water and bananas and 10 people as control were treated for 5 days. Data tension every 30 minutes after treatment were collected and analyzed using the Friedman test and the Mann Whitney test. The study concluded that there are differences in systolic and diastolic blood pressure before and after the given combination juice of young coconut water and bananas.The systolic blood pressure between juice and coconut water group are significantly different, but the diastolic blood pressure was not found any difference in the two groups. Therefore concluded that the combination is more effective of the juice affects the systolic than diastolic blood pressure.

Abstract

The smoking habit of school-age children is a phenomenon that is easily found in various regions in Indonesia. Smoking habit in school-age children is not only uncomfortable to look at but also has the potential to trigger an increasing health problems caused by smoking habit. Some of the factors that influence smoking habit in school-age children are the environment and smoking behavior of family members. This study was using analytic research design with a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study were school-age children (grade V and grade VI) in Mangelo Village, Mojokerto Regency who met the research criteria as many as 51 respondents who were taken using a purposive sampling technique. The independent variables in this study were the environment and smoking habits of family members. The dependent variable in this study is the smoking habits of school-age children. The research instrument used in this study was a modified questionnaire using a Google form to implement health protocols during the Covid-19 pandemic. In order to determine the correlation between the environment and the smoking behavior of family members with the smoking habits of school-age children in Mangelo Village, Mojokerto Regency, the chi square test was used with a significance of α : 0.05. There was an environmental correlation to the smoking habits of school-age children in Mangelo Village, Mojokerto Regency with a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.003 <α (0.05) and there was a correlation between the smoking behavior of family members with the smoking habits of school-age children in Mangelo Village, Mojokerto Regency with sig value (2-tailed) of 0.020 <α (0.05). Parents' affection which was manifested in the form of good parenting for school-age children would provide positive support to school-age children in dealing with any negative influences such as smoking behavior.

Abstract

Adolescence is a period of transition from childhood to adulthood. Puberty for girls is marked by the onset of menstruation. The lack of knowledge among young women in carrying out personal hygiene can be at risk for the growth of microbes that cause vaginal odor and vaginal discharge to occur. This causes various diseases of the reproductive organs. One way to increase knowledge is by providing health education. This study aims to determine the effect of audio-visual media health education on increasing female adolescent knowledge about personal hygiene during menstruation. The research design used a one-group pretest-post-test design. The population in this study were all 7th-grade female students of SMP 3 Silo, totaling 59 students. The sampling technique of this research is accidental sampling. The research sample is 54 respondents. The research instrument used a questionnaire. Data analysis using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed that almost all respondents had sufficient knowledge before being given health education, namely 45 people (83.3%), and almost all respondents had good knowledge after being given health education, namely 43 people (79.6%). The results of the Wilcoxon test showed that p-value = 0.000 so there was an effect of audio-visual media health education on increasing knowledge about personal hygiene during menstruation. Audiovisual aids are capable of displaying moving pictures, writing, and animation accompanied by sound so that it is not boring and the information received is clearer and more quickly understood.

Abstract

Pre-school age children are a period when children tend to be more active and energetic. They need good nutrition in addition to energy from food to support their growth and development as well as their daily activities. Consuming a balanced diet ensures that their nutritional needs are met. A balanced diet also helps children stay healthy and develop good eating habits, which will form a solid foundation for their future health. Snacks or food in the school environment sometimes does not guarantee the cleanliness and nutritional content of these snacks. Diseases that occur as a result of unhealthy snacking behavior can lead to health problems such as cancer, poisoning, food borne disease as well as growth and development disorders in health at the age of preschool children. The location for implementing community service is at RA AL-MA'UNAH, Mojojejer Village, Mojowarno Regency, Jombang Regency, where to meet the snack needs of students at RA AL-MA'UNAH, Mojojejer Village, Mojowarno Regency, Jombang Regency, they buy snacks from newcomers and regular sellers. Students before going to school and at 09.00 WIB when taking a break buy these snacks even though the teachers always suggest bringing their own food from home. The purpose of implementing this community service activity is that RA AL-MA'UNAH students in Mojojejer Village, Mojowarno Regency, Jombang Regency understand the importance of healthy snacks while at school so that they are used to living healthy after school through health education on healthy snacks by the Community Service team from Bina Sehat university PPNI Regency. Mojokerto. The method we use in community service is Health education about healthy snacks for RA AL-MA'UNAH students, Mojojejer Village, Mojowarno, Jombang Regency. The result of this health education is that RA AL-MA'UNAH, Mojojejer Village, Mojowarno, Jombang Regency, is able to understand and implement buying healthy snacks at school and at their respective homes.
