Antenatal care can be one way to reduce maternal and child mortality. Antenatal care is the initial screening for pregnant women to see the health condition of their babies and their babies; antenatal care is very important for pregnant women and their babies. This study aimed to analyze the relationship of education, current pregnancy wanted, total children and accompanied by husband in antenatal care visit with antenatal care pregnant women in Indonesia. This study uses secondary data from the 2017 IDHS on pregnant women. The number of samples in this study was 770 pregnant women. Data analysis in this study used bivariate analysis with chi-square test and Prevalent Rate (PR) with 95% CI. The results of this study indicate that the majority of pregnant women did not perform antenatal care in the incomplete category of 531 pregnant women (69%). There was no relationship between education and antenatal care for pregnant women (p=0. 771). There was a relationship between current pregnancy wanted (p<0. 001), total children (p<0. 001), accompanied by husband in Antenatal Care Visit (p<0. 001) and antenatal care for pregnant women in Indonesia. A pregnant woman whose husband does not accompany her in an antenatal care visit has a 29,268 times risk of having an incomplete antenatal care category compared to an incomplete category of antenatal care

This is a shocking tragedy and should not have happened. This type of research is analytical research. This research uses a cross-sectional approach. The population and sample in this study were all mothers who had a 12-month-old baby in the Juliana Dalimunthe Tembung Clinic Area, Deli Serdang District, which amounted to 50 people. The data analysis used is bivariate. The results of the study, based on the age of the majority of respondents aged 20-30 years, as many as 29 people (58%), the majority of respondents having high school/vocational education as many as 26 people (26%), the majority of respondents being housewives as many as 24 people (48 %). Relationship between knowledge and basic immunization in infants aged 0-12 months. It can be concluded that there is a relationship between a mother's knowledge and basic immunization for infants aged 0-12 months. Based on the results of the Chi-Square test of significance (α) = 0.05, a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05) was obtained, then Ho was rejected, and Ha was accepted. It can be concluded that there is a relationship between the mother's attitude and basic immunization for infants aged 0-12 months. It is hoped that all mothers will increase their knowledge and attitudes about immunization, and it is expected that mothers who have babies immunize their babies in a health facility for the protection of their baby.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) are a major cause of morbidity among children under five, with a high prevalence in Indonesia, particularly in the 1–4 year age group. Maternal knowledge plays a critical role in preventing ARI. This study aimed to determine the relationship between maternal knowledge and the incidence of ARI among toddlers at UPT Puskesmas Medan Helvetia in 2024. The study employed a cross-sectional design with accidental sampling, involving 20 respondents. A questionnaire was used as the research instrument. Chi-Square test results showed a significant relationship between maternal knowledge and ARI incidence in toddlers (p-value = 0.025). Greater health education efforts are needed to improve maternal knowledge and reduce ARI cases in children Keywords: ARI, Maternal Knowledge, Toddlers

Abstract

Background: Early Breastfeeding Initiation (EBI) is a WHO/UNICEF global strategy to reduce neonatal mortality. However, its implementation still faces challenges, including the role of midwives as facilitators. Methods: A descriptive qualitative study using a case-study approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and observation of 5 midwives/nurses in the Lactation Room of USM Hospital Kelantan. Data were analyzed using data reduction, data display, and verification. Results: (1) Midwives' support included education (benefits and technique of EBI), direct assistance, and promotion of rooming-in (100% of mothers); (2) EBI success was achieved in 80% of mothers, with infants finding the nipple within 1 hour (80%), skin-to-skin contact ≤2 hours (100%), and strengthened emotional bonding (100%); (3) There was a clear relationship between midwives' support and EBI success: mothers with high support (4 individuals) achieved optimal EBI, while limited support (1 individual) resulted in partial EBI. Conclusion: Holistic midwifery support (education, technical assistance, and emotional support) plays a crucial role in EBI success. Strengthening midwives' capacity through continuous training is recommended to optimize the program.
