Abstract

Penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan pemahaman matematis peserta didik SMP pada materi persamaan garis lurus yang ditinjau berdasarkan gender. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas IX SMP Advent di Cimindi, Setia Budi, Parongpong dan Bogor, Jawa Barat pada tahun ajaran 2021/2022 yang terdiri dari 31 peserta didik laki-laki dan 35 peserta didik perempuan. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah tes kemampuan pemahaman matematis dan pedoman wawancara. Metode triangulasi digunakan untuk menguji keabsahan data penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata kemampuan pemahaman matematis peserta didik laki-laki berada pada kategori rendah sedangkan peserta didik perempuan berada pada kategori sedang. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dengan peserta didik yang memiliki kemampuan pemahaman matematis tinggi, peserta didik perempuan lebih unggul dalam mendeskripsikan masalah secara lengkap daripada peserta didik laki-laki. Tidak terdapat perbedaan antara peserta didik perempuan dan laki-laki dengan kemampuan pemahaman matematis sedang dan rendah.

Abstract

Salah satu standar yang diberikan oleh National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) adalah disposisi matematik. Disposisi  bukan sekedar merujuk pada sikap tetapi suatu kecenderungan untuk berpikir dan bersikap dalam cara yang positif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa disposisi matematik dan hubungannya dengan hasil belajar matematika siswa-siswa sekolah menengah atas (SMA). Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah 149 siswa SMA di Bandung. Analisa statistik didasarkan pada korelasi peringkat Spearman dan uji-t. Ditemukan bahwa secara rata-rata,  disposisi matematik dari siswa-siswa SMA dikategorikan rendah. Selanjutnya, terdapat korelasi positif dan signifikan antara disposisi matematik dan hasil belajar matematika siswa-siswa SMA, walaupun nilai koefisien korelasinya tidak tinggi. Suatu observasi juga dilakukan untuk menganalisa hubungan ini, dan didapati bahwa walaupun beberapa siswa memiliki disposisi matematik yang baik, kadang kala mereka tidak dapat menyelesaikan ujian dengan baik, karena padatnya kurikulum, dan juga aktifitas sosial mereka, yang membuat hasil belajar matematika mereka lebih rendah. Temuan lainnya adalah bahwa siswa-siswa SMA memerlukan guru-guru matematika dengan lebih banyak strategi mengajar  agar mereka dapat memiliki disposisi matematik yang lebih baik. Kata Kunci: Disposisi Matematik, Hasil Belajar Matematika   One of the evaluation standards given by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) was mathematical disposition. Disposition refers not simply to attitudes but to a tendency to think and to act in positive ways. This study aimed to analyze the mathematical disposition and its correlation with mathematics achievement of senior high school (SMA) students. A total of 149 SMA students in Bandung were procured as samples. Statistical analysis was based on the Spearman rank correlation and on the t-test. The findings showed that at average, the mathematical disposition of the SMA students were categorizing low. Furthermore, there was a positive and significant correlation between mathematical disposition and mathematics achievement of the SMA students, though the correlation coefficient was not high. An observation was also made to analyze this correlation, and it was found that though some students have good mathematical disposition, sometimes they could not do the tests well, because of the condensed curriculum, and also their social activities, which make their mathematics achievement become lower. Another finding was that SMA students need teachers with some more mathematics teaching strategy for them to gain better mathematical disposition. Key words: Mathematical Disposition, Mathematics Achievement.

Abstract

Etnomatematika merupakan gabungan antara materi pelajaran matematika dengan kearifan lokal potensial untuk diterapkan dan digunakan oleh para guru di Indonesia dalam upaya memperkenalkan konsep matematis. Hal ini disebabkan banyaknya tradisi dan kebudayaan pada setiap daerah di Indonesia, salah satunya dari Provinsi Lampung. Lampung memiliki motif batik khas yang dipengaruhi oleh lingkungan dan kebudayaan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melakukan eksplorasi terhadap motif batik khas Lampung dengan materi grafik fungsi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motif Siger terbentuk dari fungsi trigonometri. Mutlak dan ln motif Sembagi/Cilugam terbentuk dari fungsi mutlak dan persamaan garis motif Pucuk Rebung terbentuk dari fungsi mutlak motif Payung Agung terbentuk dari fungsi trigonometri, mutlak, kuadrat, dan persamaan garis.

Abstract

Learning style is a behavior that is intentionally done by students in the form of cognitive, affective and psychological behavior to obtain changes in learning. Information about student learning styles can help teachers determine the learning strategies to be used. This study aims to determine how the learning styles of high school students in Bandung. This is descriptive research, and the sample in this study was 275 students from several secondary schools in Bandung. The learning style measurement instrument used is the "Perceptual Learning Style Preference Questionnaire" (PLSPQ) made by Reid (1987) which states there are six learning styles (visual, tactile, auditory, group or group, kinesthetic, individual), and translated into Indonesian. The results showed that: (1) There were 20.73 percent of students who had only one dominant or "major" learning style. , (2) There are 55.27 percent of students who have more than one dominant learning style, (3) There are 24 percent of students who do not have any dominant learning style. Other results are: The majority of high school students have a kinesthetic learning style (learning through their overall body experience or involved physically in classroom experiences) and or group learning style (learning with other friends in a group) as the dominant learning style.

Abstract

Mathematical communication ability is important because it can train students thinking and reasoning, develop creative activities, develop problem solving skills and develop ability to convey information. But previous researchs shows that mathematical communication skill still not high, so it still needs to be improved. The purpose of this study is to know the Junior High School students' mathematical communication improvements, and whether there are different improvement between students who acquire Number Head Together cooperative learning model and Ing Ngarsa Sung Tuladha. This comparative designed study used 7 essay mathematical communication problems and response questionaire as the research instruments. The sample of this study were students in two grades VII of SMP Negeri 3 Parongpong, West Bandung. The result shows that the students’ mathematical communication improvement of those who acquire Number Head Together cooperative learning model and Ing Ngarsa Sung Tuladha are both in the moderate category, and they are not different statistically. Another result shows that students really like to learn using Number Head Together or Ing Ngarsa Sung Tuladha cooperative learning model.

Abstract

Mathematics is a subject that has several main topics such as shapes and sizes with their own difficulties so that they need to be studied in a way that is closer to everyday life. One way that can be done is to link mathematics with culture, for example, is traditional dance. Manuk Dadali  is a traditional dance from West Java that can be used as learning material for students through ethnomathematics-based learning. This research is an exploratory research conducted to analyze and discuss the geometric concepts contained in the Manuk Dadali Dance using an ethnographic approach. The data is collected by observation, documentation and interviews. Based on the research conducted, it was found that geometric elements in Manuk Dadali dance movements and floor patterns, including angular geometry, two-dimensional geometry, and transformation geometry.

Abstract

This research is based of the lowness the Junior High School students’ mathematical reasoning ability at the Cube and Cuboid material. The research method used is didactical design. The first step of this research was to diagnose the Junior High School student’s difficulties in mathematical reasoning. The test was done towards 24 students at SMP Advent II Setiabudhi and 11 students at SMP Advent Parongpong. The result of the diagnostic test shows that the students had difficulties in Mathematical reasoning of Cube and cuboid material, difficulty in determining the spot of the line in the cube and cuboid that made, difficulty in doing the mathematical manipulation, difficulty in arranging the the prove of the cube and cuboid concept, difficulty in checking the argument validation, and difficulty in making a pattern for a generalization. Based on the difficulties of the students’ mathematical reasoning, the didactical design of learning was made with the purpose to overcome the Junior High Scholl students’  mathematical reasoning difficulties, that are: Give the steps to determine cuboid nets, adding more examples which has mathematical manipulation in it, give more complete  proof for cube area using  nets with colors, using graphs to help in making generalization, give example  for checking arguments validities, and give example to determine the nth pattern.

Abstract

This paper describes one way that teachers as educators can face the challenges of the industrial revolution 4.0, namely by instilling and preparing creative and character-based leaders. Education as character building can be implemented using Ki Hajar Dewantara's leadership concepts, namely Ing Ngarsa Sung Tuladha, Ing Madya Mangun Karsa, and Tut Wuri Handayani. The concept of leadership was first adopted as a cooperative learning model which emphasized exemplariness in group learning. The group leader is called tuladha and is the facilitator of the group. Tuladha utilizes the Internet of Things. Before the teaching and learning process in class, information, concepts or ideas, and examples are posted by the teacher to the tuladha. This study is an experimental study with the sample used meeting the prerequisites of the statistical test used. The results showed that students' mathematical problem solving abilities increased significantly using the Ing Ngarsa Sung Tuladha cooperative learning model over the usual method. The category of improving students' mathematical problem solving abilities that obtain the Ing Ngarsa Sung Tuladha cooperative learning model is in the high category.

Abstract

English language is an International language. This makes the use of English in teaching-learning process in countries, where English is generally not a local medium of communication, become important. Mathematics is also very important for every student, but several previous research showed that students had difficulty in learning this subject. The purpose of this experimental study is to see the effectiveness of the use of English in teaching-learning process of economic mathematics towards economic undergraduate students. The result shows us that students who learn mathematics with English-medium system have better achievement than students who learn mathematics with local language. Another finding was students learn mathematics more enthusiastic when the teaching-learning process is made with the language they chose.Keyword: English language, economic mathematics, teaching learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana motivasi dan pembelajaranregulasi diri dan faktor manakah yang paling dominan pada motivasi dan strategi regulasi dirimahasiswa dalam belajar statistika. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah 202 mahasiswa pesertakelas statistika pada program studi manajemen dan akuntansi di Universitas Advent Indonesia.Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengukur strategi motivasi belajar adalah instrumen bakuMSLQ (Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionaire) dari Pintrich dan DeGroot. Faktorfaktordari motivasi dan pembelajaran regulasi diri adalah: Self Efficacy, Intrisic Factor, TestAnxiety, Cognitive Strategy Use, Self Regulation. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalahmetode kuantitatif dengan analisa deskriptif dan analisa faktor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkanbahwa secara rerata, mahasiswa fakultas ekonomi di Universitas Advent Indonesia memilikiSelf-Efficacy, Intrisic Value, Cognitive Strategy Use dan Self-Regulation yang baik, serta TestAnxiety yang cukup baik. Selanjutnya ditemukan bahwa faktor Cognitive strategy use palingdominan dalam motivasi dan strategi regulasi diri mahasiswa fakultas ekonomi UniversitasAdvent Indonesia dalam belajar statistika.
