Abstract

Water and nutrient requirements affected Corn growth and development. The essensial role of potassium was found in various plant metabolism aspects such as plant physiology,assimilate transportation and translocation and plant resistances of drought. Sufficient water needed to support plnt growth because excee lack of water can disrupt and inhibit the metabolims process. The research aimed to determine physiological, root systems and biomass of corn plants effected potassium and water deficiency. The research had been conducted at the Faculty of Agriculture Greenhouse at Gadjah Mada University Yogyakarta in April-June 2016. The experiment design used factorial Completely Randomized Design with 2 factors and three replications. The first factor was the dose of KCl (K) fertilizer consisting of KCl 0 kg/ha (K1) and KCl 100 kg/ha (K2). The second factor was enough water (watering every day/ A1) and Less water (watering 4 days/ A2). The data observed were analyzed by ANOVA (analysis of variance) and least significant defference (LSD) test at alpha 5%. Potassium had an effect on the parameters of chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, total chlorophyll, and root area surface of corn at 4 MST. Potassium affected to stem dry weight, primary roots, and root volume at 8 MST. Watering treatment had an effect on chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, and total chlorophyll at 4 MST. There were interactions between potassium and water treatments on root volume parameters at 8 MST.

Abstract

Sugar cane plantations are often located on uplands with low irrigation water sources and get water sources from rainfall. Mycorrhiza increased water absorption and effective in dry land. This research aims to determine the best watering frequency and dose of mycorrhizae for sugarcane single bud seedlings. The research was conducted at Research Garden of KUD Ngajum located in Wonosari, Malang, East Java. The research was conducted in May to August 2013. The research method was used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of two factors. The first factor was mycorrhizal dose consisting of 4 levels: without mycorrhiza (M0), 10 g /plant (M1), 30 g/plant (M2), 50 g/plant (M3). The second factor was the frequency of watering consists of 4 levels: once a day (F1), once every two days (F2), once every three days (F3), four days (F4). Application of mycorrhizae of 10 grams, 30 grams and 50 grams had the same effect on all parameters of sugarcane seedling growth except the number of tillers, leaf area and percentage of mycorrhizal infection. Frequency of watering every 2 days gives good results on the parameters of plant dry weight. The combination of 50 grams of mycorrhizal treatment with watering frequency once every 2 days gives a good effect on leaf area while the combination of treatment of 10 grams of mycorrhizae and watering once every 4 days and my dose of 30 grams of mycorrhizae with frequency of watering once every 3 days gives a good effect on the percentage of mycorrhizal infections.

Abstract

Hidroponik adalah inovasi yang dilakukan untuk berbudidaya tanaman pada lahan yang sempit tanpa membutuhkan tanah sebagai media tanam. Nutrisi tanaman hidroponik diaplikasikan dalam bentuk cair bersamaan dengan air yang berfungsi sebagai media. Aerasi dilakukan dengan bantuan pompa air untuk memenuhi kebutuhan udara bagi tanaman hidroponik.  Hidroponik semakin banyak diterapkan mulai dari kalangan masyarakat umum, instansi pemerintahan dan swasta serta lembaga pendidikan. Pesantren merupakan asrama pendidikan yang berbasis pada pendidikan agama Islam. Pesantren Yatim Ibnu Taimiyah merupakan salah satu pesantren dengan misi membekali santriwati kemandirian personal (lifeskill). Kewirausahaan merupakan salah satu upaya dari pesantren untuk menghasilkan lulusan yang dapat berjiwa kemandirian personal. Program pengabdian Program Studi Teknologi Produksi Tanaman Perkebunan Politeknik Kelapa Sawit Citra Widya Edukasi dilakukan untuk memenuhi mendukung dan mendorong jiwa enterpreneurship yang menjadikan kemandirian personal. Program Pengabdian dilakukan dengan tema budidaya tanaman secara hidroponik untuk mendukung kemandirian masyarakat pesantren. Program ini dimaksudkan agar para santriwati dapat belajar secara langsung sistem budidaya Hidroponik sebagai bekal pengembangan diri bagi para santri sudah lulus. Program pengabdian terdiri dari 2 sesi yang pertama pemaparan dan diskusi dengan materi hidroponik, sesi kedua terdiri dari pemasangan instalasi hidroponik, pelatihan persemaian, penanaman bibit pada hidroponik sistem wick system dan nutrient film system.
