This study aims to analyze the voters behavior in the Sambas Regency Regional Representative Council (DPRD) in 2019. The theory used in analyzing this problem is Nursal's theory (2004: 54) about approaches in looking at voter behavior, namely the sociological, psychological and rational approaches. The method used in this research is qualitative, with descriptive research type. The results showed that voter behavior in the 2019 election in Sambas Regency especially in the election of DPRD members showed a change, namely the shifting of sociological and psychological voters to rational voters. Although this change is not significant, there is a tendency that in making choices to prospective members of the legislature (candidates) the community has considered profit and loss through the work program offered, as well as political promises that are considered to be realized by the candidates if elected. The appearance of a new figure in the Sambas Regency DPRD institution with different ethnic backgrounds, ages and professions is proof that the community in making their choices first looks at the track record of candidates before nominating themselves as candidates. This change in behavior is caused by the expectation of new figures as an accumulation of disappointment with previous DPRD members. In addition, the development of social media makes society more rational in choosing. Nevertheless, it cannot be denied that the presence of a new face in the Sambas Regency DPDR is also inseparable from sociological factors, such as kinship.
