Abstract

The potential of wind energy on the highway by utilizing moving vehicles can produce wind speeds of up to 6 m/s depending on the speed, intensity, and size of the vehicle. The study was conducted to determine the potential for wind energy generated on Jalan PB Sudirman based on wind speed m/s on November 24-30 and December 11-17. The average wind speed on November 24 - 30, the highest is 3.1 m/s and the lowest is 1.9 m/s with characteristic wind gusts at 06-17 hours. The average wind speed on December 11-17 is the highest at 3, 8 and the lowest is 2 m/s with low wind characteristics, and gusts from 06 to 17. Based on the characteristics of the gusts of wind, two types of turbines that can rotate at low speeds were selected: HAWT TSD-500 cut-in 3 m/s and VAWT EN-5KW-H cut-in 2.5 m/s, The average power potential from November to December of the TSD-500 is 232.9 Watts and 443.7 Watts. The EN-5KW-H average power potential is 456.9 watts and 844.6 watts. EN-5KW-H can take advantage of wind speed with wind characteristics better than TSD-500.

Abstract

The number of energy demand these days is very high. This shows the need for new inonovation to solve the problem of energy needs, one of which is the use of Phase Change Material (PCM) as a heat exchanger material. The purpose of this research is to know the characteristics of PCM with addition cooking oil and paraffin. The percentage of cooking oil and paraffin are 30%, 40%, and 50% of total volume. The research was start with heating process during 1 hours with temperature ± 25oC. Result of this research shows PCM paraffin - cooking oil with 50% mixture is the best cooling speed PCM, next is PCM paraffin - cooking oil 40% mixture, and the last is PCM paraffin - cooking oil with 30% mixture. On the cooling process, the 30% cooking oil mixture can hold the temperature longers than the other, while the 40% cooking oil mixture has second position, and the last is 50% cooking oil mixture. The conclusion is the addition of cooking oil can improve thermal conductivity of PCM.

Abstract

In high technological times the use of agricultural tools with modern machinery helped accelerate the processing of agricultural production. One of the most common and most commonly used tools is the Tractor. Tractor is a motorized tool that has the ability to preparation the soil. Application of tractor to preparation the soil is mostly done by farmers. A lot of used tractors is the hand tractor. Unsuitableof factor of tractor design to operator and land condition has caused many problems related to comfort, safety and health of work. Handlebar on the hand tractor is still less comfortable and ergonomic considered by the operator. This study aims to identify hand tractor operator complaints of inconvenience in working using RULA analysis of CATIA V5R17 software. Based on anthropometry percentile calculations, the result 1100 mm handlebar height, 650 mm handlebar width, and the distance of the turning lever to a 120 mm handlebar. The percentiles used are 5, 50, and 95 presentations using CATIA V5R17.
