Abstract

Sand inclusion and pin hole are surface defects caused by molding sand. Therefore need by varying age sand and percentage of binder in sand molds. The purpose of this research to improve the quality of the product. Each treatment will through tensile strength test, then make a plate pattern for casted . Each plate will checked defects that occur, sand inclusion and pin hole . Data from this research will be analyzed using ANOVA factorial design 2x3. The results of this research with a percentage of 1.5% binder and age sand 24 hour produce sand inclusion of 0% and pin hole, 2 holes. Keywords: Sand inclusion, pin hole, binder, age sand

Abstract

Critical Path Method is one of the network analysis methods are used to plan , schedule and monitor the project . Network consists of EET, LET, and  float . Critical activities are activities that dont have the free time ( float = 0 ) so there should not be delayed,  because it will affect the completion time  of project This study aims to analyze the critical path of the project of making roll mill sheaths , identify waste and its cause on critical activities , and make network s proposal to shorten the project completion time. Based on the research results, the highest score of waste iswaiting, this cause has22.43% score.This waste caused by the delay of material coming , waiting for the previous process, a limited quantity of machines and the operators is limited . After analysis using CPM method and create diagrams of network proposal,the result is production of 4 units roll mill which previously lasted 7 days can be shortened to 6 days with a critical path which must get special attention because if there is  delay in process it will affect to the other working processes which led to the delay in completion of the project. Abstract

Chatter in drilling process due to excitation, both from within and from outside the system but the resulting chatter effect is very dependent on the excitation frequency and the elements of the cheater system itself . This study aimed to determine the effect of spindle speed, feeding rate and tool angle in consideration of aspects of chatter in drilling process. In this experimental design experiments conducted using Drill Machine Model KMR Kao Ming-700DS. Spindle speed used is 136 rpm, 368 rpm and 681 rpm. Feeding used is 0.07 mm/rotation, 0.13 mm/rotation, 0.22 mm/rotation and use a variety of tool angle is 90˚, 100˚ and 118˚. Materials used for the experiment was aluminium 6061. chatter measurement results work material drilling process using a series of chatter test equipment with a number of fully testing is testing 27. Analysis of the data used is the linear regression. From the results of the testing results of the regression equation A = 103.371* (n)0.627* (f )0.581 * (2Kr)1.112 and R-square value 81.6 %. Abstract

The presence of roof tile companies in Tamansari - Wuluhan - Jember has not shown the existence of synergies between companies and with other elements in order to improve innovation and business efficiency. This was reflected in most of the production process to the marketing of roof tile products that are still performed as an individual company. In other words, the concentration of roof tile companies in Tamansari stopped only to the extent of an industrial roof tile. Whereas, by making a group of roof tile companies in a certain area allows for collaboration between companies as well as with other elements in these area to improve business efficiency as well as the creation of a new innovation related to the roof tile industry. This researh aimed at identifying cluster variables of roof tile industry that will provide competitive advantage for the roof tile industry, and determine the cluster variables priorities that can be used as a reference to arrange a cluster development strategy in the future. Determination of the cluster variables based on the concept of Porters Diamond Model. Roof tile industry cluster variables identified are: The Quality of Labor, Capital Access, Transportation Facilities, Telecommunication Facilities, Excellent Quality of Roof Tile, Suppliers Companies, Industrial Equipment Provider Companies, Roof Tile Buyer Companies, Financial Institutions, Transportation Companies, Distributors of Roof Tile Companies, Roof Tile Business Associations, Companies Strategy, Organizational Structure, Similar Companies, Job Training Centers, Universities, Corporate Tax, Legal and Quality Standards. Bicycle (human powered vehicles) is very popular transportation appliance in society, with all excess and its insuffiency. Design bicycle specially form and its size measure adapted for ergonomi of body  human being with the certain age, its meaning minibike just to children, while big bicycle just to adult or child with the high body. So that is not rarely met, at one particular family own some bicycle type, as according to its wearer. as a result required a broader place many for the menyimpan of bicycle. This matter enough become the big problem in cities, where farm for the house of progressively narrow. To finish the problem, this research designed and made by a bicycle which can be used by all age (except baby), the bicycle Flexy Bike. Flexy Bike is bicycle having function fleksible. That is bicycle which can be functioned in so many form and size measure, without lessening security and its freshment. Abstract

Composite sandwich reinforcement  kenaf fiber polyester with Styrofoam core is an alternative material that has the potential to be developed as an application in various fields with an excess of nature that is strong, lightweight, rigid, able to withstand bending loads, impact, vibration damping and sound. This study is intended to overcome the problems of fishermen Muncar - Banyuwangi in the selection of materials manufacture of safe fish robust and insulated to preserve or maintain the freshness of the fish catch of fishermen low temperature. This study was conducted to determine the effect of variations in fiber volume fraction of the increase in impact strength and bending composite materials sandwich.Untuk get impact strength values ​​using the tool impact test with a maximum capacity of 300 joules specifications, pendulum mass of 20.9 kg, 0.83 m long pendulum arm, while to obtain bending strength values ​​using a universal testing machine capacity of 300 KN. Variations were used in this study is the percentage of fiber volume fraction of 10% fiber, 20%, 30%, and 40%. The results showed that the variation of fiber volume fraction of 40% had values ​​higher impact strength and bending of 0.30 Joules / mm² and 5,65MPa than the fiber volume fraction of 10% has impact and bending strength values ​​were lower at 0.14 joules / mm2 and 0.30 MPa. So in this study limits the variation of fiber volume fraction of 10% to 40% proved that if the greater the percentage of fiber volume fraction value will increase the value of impact strength and bending in composite sandwich. Abstract

Dalam setiap desain dilakukan harus mempertimbangkan kekuatan bahan. Kekuatan yang harus diperhatikan mengenai dimensi, bahan, dan struktur benda kerja. Pada penelitian ini akan dibahas tentang analisa kegagalan poros roda mobil listrik dari bahan baja ST 42 dengan metode elemen hingga. Metode elemen hingga adalah metode numerik yang digunakan untuk memecahkan masalah teknis dan gejala fisis metematis yang termasuk stres, ketegangan, kekuatan, dan analisis getaran. Metode elemen hingga ini untuk membandingkan antara perhitungan menggunakan softwareCATIA dan menggunakan perhitungan manual. Dalam hal ini metode elemen yang terbatas akan digunakan adalah metode 2D elemen hingga (lapangan) adalah elemen segitiga dengan 3 node. Dari penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa: stres terbesar dengan tegangan ? = 1,85 x 10. Dari kegagalan teori MNST: Maksimum Normal-Stres Teori dinyatakan aman, karena masih dalam batas aman. Tampak bahwa stres terbesar terjadi masih di bawah tekanan dari bahan itu sendiri memungkinkan. Tegangan maksimum terjadi pada tengah poros, sedangkan tegangan minimum sebesar 3,4 x10 yang terletak tepi poros.Kata kunci: kegagalan, tegangan, poros roda dan elemen hingga

Abstract

Kolektor surya berfungsi mengumpulkan dan menyerap radiasi sinar matahari dan mengkonversinya menjadi energi panas. Kolektor tabung memiliki keunggulan dalam menahan panas daripada kolektor pelat datar. Glass tube dapat menahan panas dengan faktor kehilangan panas yang relatif rendah, karena fluida terjebak di antara absorber dan dinding glass tube. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu membandingkan efisiensi kolektor tabung dengan glass tube dan non glass tube ditambah komposisi PCM yang berbeda dengan campuran parafin ? minyak jarak 15%, parafin ? minyak jarak 20% dan parafin 100%. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa proses pemanasan air dengan kolektor tabung non glass tube campuran PCM parafin ? minyak jarak 20% menghasilkan suhu lebih besar (59,9 oC). Ketika proses pendinginan, kolektor glass tube campuran PCM parafin ? minyak jarak 20% menghasilkan suhu lebih besar (36,1 oC). Pada efisiensi kolektor non glass tube campuran PCM parafin ? minyak jarak 20% menghasilkan nilai 70% dan saat pendinginan kolektor glass tube menghasilkan efisiensi rata ? rata 16,3%. Hal ini disebabkan pada saat proses pemanasan, panas yang diserap pada kolektor non glass tube lebih besar yang diterima dibanding kolektor glass tube yang masih melewati dinding glass tube. Dari penelitian tersebut, maka efisiensi kolektor tabung dipengaruhi oleh glass tube pada saat pemanasan maupun pendinginan. Glass tube dapat mempertahankan panas yang keluar ketika penurunan intensitas radiasi dan saat proses pendinginan. Selain penambahan glass tube, bahan pada Phase Change Material (PCM) juga mempengaruhi efisiensi kolektor tabung.

Abstract

CV.X merupakan salah satu perusahaan pengolahan sarden yang terletak di Banyuwangi. Pada proses produksi di perusahaan masih ditemukan beberapa pemborosan (waste). Untuk mengurangi pemborosan yang terjadi digunakan pendekatan lean manufacturing dengan metode Value Stream Mapping (VSM) untuk pemetaan aliran produksi dan aliran informasi terhadap proses produksi dari awal bahan baku hingga produk jadi dan dikirim ke konsumen, serta analisis dengan metode Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) untuk mengetahui penyebab kegagalan proses yang paling prioritas dan perlu dilakukan perbaikan dengan segera. Identifikasi pemborosan diawali dengan penggambaran current state map, lalu dilakukan analisis pemborosan ke dalam kategori 7 pemborosan [1]. Pada analsis tersebut ditemukan 3 jenis pemborosan yaitu waiting time, unnecessary inventory dan defect (kembung). Setelah itu dilakukan analisis akar penyebab timbulnya pemborosan menggunakan fishbone diagram, dan analis FMEA untuk mengetahui nilai RPN tertinggi yang selanjutnya akan menjadi prioritas pemberian usulan perbaikan yang tepat dan sesuai dengan masalah dan kondisi proses produksi sarden 125g di CV.X. Rekomendasi perbaikan yang diberikan terhadap pemborosan dengan nilai RPN tertinggi antara lain Menambahkan mesin pencuci produk untuk mengurangi penumpukan produk dan waktu tunggu yang ada sehingga pemborosan waiting time dan unnecessary inventory dapat berkurang, mengganti sarung tangan kain dengan lateks, serta menjaga kebersihan nampan ikan. CV.X is a sardine processing company located in Banyuwangi. In the company production process there are some wastes. To reduce the waste that occurs, lean manufacturing approach using Value Stream Mapping (VSM) method is used to map the production flow and information flow to the production process from the beginning of the raw material to the finished product and sent to consumers, as well as analysis using the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) method. ) to find out what causes the most priority process failures and needs immediate improvement. Waste identification is preceded by a depiction of the current state map, then waste analysis is conducted into category 7 waste. In this analysis, there are 3 types of waste, which are waiting time, unnecessary inventory and defects. After that an analysis of the root causes of waste occurs using fishbone diagrams, and FMEA analysts to find out the highest RPN value which will then be prioritized for giving recommendations for an appropriate improvement and in accordance with the problems and conditions of the 125g sardine production process in CV.X. Improvement recommendations given for waste with the highest RPN value include adding a product washer to reduce product buildup and waiting times so that waiting time and unnecessary inventory waste can be reduced, replacing cloth gloves with latex, and keeping the fish tray clean.
