Abstract

This study aims to determine learning with image media to improve early childhood social skills in class B in Raudhatul Athfal (RA) Albadariyah, Cimanggu 2 Village, Cibungbulang District, Bogor Regency. The research uses varied and interesting image media so that it can motivate children's interest. This type of research is collaborative classroom action research using Kurt Lewin's model. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The research subjects were nine children of Group B RA Albadariyah. While the object of this research is the application of image media to improve children's social skills. Technique of data collection uses observation, documentation, and interviews. Data analysis uses qualitative descriptive techniques and quantitative approaches. The indicator of success in this study is when the average social ability of children through picture media has reached 80%. The results of this study indicate an increase in children's social skills through image media. This is evidenced by an increase in the average social ability of children in pre-action by 55.5%, increasing to 63.8% in Cycle I, and reaching 94.4% in Cycle II.

Abstract

The community service activities aim to develop a strengthen of character education for school teachers of Early Childhood Education (ECE) and Ibtidaiyah Madrasa (MI) at the Pamijahan district. The character development of the teachers is expected to be the writer of journal local articles, and the symbols of change of the participants.To achieve these goals, community service activities use empowerment methods for partner community training “sarasehan”, which are carried out in a sustainable manner. The community service activities refer to the education policy regulated in Law Number 20 of 2003, and Presidential Regulation Number 87 of 2017 concerning the strengthening of character in the education system. The strengthening of character education is a main program to foster strong character in participants through harmonization of thought, literacy, etic, and kinesthetic of “written skill”. By strengthening character education in this participant’s activity, it becomes a program to elevate optimal character potential for the participants. The target of community service activities is to involve around 30 participating teachers from the Pamijahan district. The implementation output of community service activities is an action plan for 4 (four) months, making workshop material modules, and the skill of writing at a local journal articles.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of the prayer method in learning and its impact or influence on student learning achievement. The research used descriptive qualitative method which was carried out by collecting data obtained from documentation, observation and interviews, and supported by literature studies, both from books and journals. The results showed that the prayer method is very necessary in learning. However, in its implementation, the prayer method cannot stand alone. The prayer method in learning must be combined or integrated with other methods such as lecture methods, discussions, question and answer, storytelling, exercises (drills), sociodrama, and other methods. The prayer method is proven to make students peace of mind and are motivated to improve their learning achievements. Therefore, this method must be introduced and implemented in learning, both for educational institutions, especially Islamic educational institutions, as well as public schools. In addition, the teacher must plan every lesson, regardless of the method used in learning, both in class and outside the classroom, to guide students to pray, both before the lesson begins and before the lesson ends.
