Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effect of POC eco-enzyme application on the growth and production of celery plants in ultisol soil. This research was carried out in Rahmah Village, South Lubuklinggau District 1, Lubuklinggau City from April to June 2024. This research used an experimental design method with a randomized block design prepared by non-factorial, consisting of six treatment levels with 4 replications. The treatments tried in this research were the following concentrations of liquid organic fertilizer eco-enzyme: E0: No POC Eco-enzyme treatment (control), E1: POC Eco-enzyme concentration 1.00ml/liter, E2: POC Eco-enzyme concentration 1.25ml/liter, E3: POC Eco-enzyme concentration 1.50ml/liter, E4: POC Eco-enzyme concentration 1.75ml/liter, and E5: POC Eco-enzyme concentration 2.00ml/liter. The results of the research showed that the application of POC eco-enzyme to the growth and production of celery plants had a real to very significant effect on all the variables observed and in the E4 treatment, namely the application of eco-enzyme with a concentration of 1.75 ml/liter showed the best results on growth and production. celery plants in ultisol soil. Keywords: Ecoenzyme, Growth Hormone, Organic Fertilizer

Abstract

Pesticides are one of the main agricultural tools that if used unwisely will cause environmental pollution and health problems. The study was conducted to analyze the impact of insecticide use on rice cultivation on farmers health problems. The study was conducted in Tugumulyo District, Musi Rawas Regency, South Sumatra Province, located in Srikaton Village, Trikoyo Village, and Tegalrejo. From January to April 2024, using the Survey Method. Respondents were determined using the Simple Random Sampling method as much as 5% of the population of each research location. The data collected were in the form of types and active ingredients of insecticides, types of pests, farmer perceptions, and types of diseases suffered by farmers. The data obtained were analyzed using statistical analysis and then explained descriptively. The results showed that 47.1% of farmers used Winder 25 WP insecticide with the active ingredient Imidacloprid. There were 5 types of pests that attacked, namely brown planthoppers, bondol birds, rats, bedbugs, and stink bugs. As many as 88.7% of the community were exposed to insecticides and 52% suffered from health problems. The high environmental and health impacts that occur because the level of understanding of the impacts of insecticide use is still very low, and public knowledge of the technical use of safe insecticides is still very low, which is 16.1%. In addition, the high level of public trust in the efficacy of insecticides in killing pests also greatly influences. The conclusion of the study is the low understanding of farmers about the dangers of insecticide exposure. The environmental impacts caused are in the form of air pollution, and health problems suffered by farmers are nausea, headaches, skin, eye and nose irritation.

Abstract

Red onions are a horticultural commodity that has high economic value. However, currently, red onion production often experiences a decline which can be caused by the low level of land fertility on ultisol soil. This study aims to analyze the vermicompost and NPK fertilizers in increasing the production of shallots on ultisol soil. The research was conducted in Muara Beliti Village, Musi Rawas Regency using the Factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK). The treatments tested were vermicompost K1 = 15 tons/ha, K2 = 25 tons/ha and K3 = 35 tons/ha. NPK fertilizer: N1 = 150 kg/ha, N2 = 200 kg/ha and N3 = 250 kg/ha. The results of the study showed that the application of vermicompost fertilizer with a dose of 15 tons/ha and NPK fertilizer with a dose of 150 kg/ha was able to increase the growth rate of plant height, increase the number of leaves and tuber diameter and had a very significant effect on the weight per tuber
