Abstract

Translation has become a fundamental and urgent aspect of studying linguistics. It is often considered highly challenging due to the need to master various linguistic disciplines in both the source and target languages. However, the advent of technology, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), has provided significant ease, particularly in translating Arabic. This tool has increasingly been utilized by language learners as a translation instrument, but its results remain a subject of debate. Issues such as accuracy arise, where the message from the source language may not be fully conveyed to the target language. Conventional translation also cannot be completed quickly because it requires mastery of various subfields of linguistics, such as syntax, lexicology, morphology, semantics, and others. From these challenges, integrating AI as a translation tool presents a potential solution. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method with a literature review approach, focusing on analyzing the translation outputs of AI and professional translators, which are then described. The findings indicate that AI translation demonstrates high accuracy, although some errors persist. However, these errors can be mitigated with professional translation expertise. Thus, it can be concluded that using AI as a translation tool requires prior mastery of translation skills, with AI serving solely as an auxiliary tool that facilitates the translator's work. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengintegrasikan AI sebagai alat penerjemahan bahasa arab. hal ini karena  terjemah dianggap memiliki kesulitan tinggi karena harus menguasai berbagai macam ilmu bahasa baik dalam bahasa sumber maupun bahasa sasaran. Namun dengan hadirnya teknologi, satunya ialah actificial intelegance (AI) memberikan banyak sekali kemudahan termasuk juga dalam menerjemah bahasa Arab. alat ini sudah mulai banyak digunakan oleh pelajar bahasa sebagai instrument penerjemah namun hasilnya masih diperselisihkan. Mulai dari segi keakuratan seperti tidak tersampaikannya pesan bahasa sumber ke bahasa sasaran. Penerjemahan konvensional juga tidak bisa dilakukan dengan waktu yang singkat karena karena harus menguasai berbagai macam sub ilmu bahasa seperti sintaksis, leksikologi, morfologi, semantik dan lain-lain. dari problematika ini, kemungkinan besar dengan mengintegrasikan AI sebagai alat terjemah bisa menjadi solusi. Selanjutnya  penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriftif dengan pendekatan study pustaka karena proses penelitian ini terokus pada analisis hasil teks terjemahan AI dan profesional yang kemudian di deskripsikan. Adapun penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terjemahan AI memiliki akurasi yang tinggi walaupun masih terdapat kekeliruan, namun dari kekliuan tersebut dapat ditutupi dengan ilmu terjemah profesional. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan dalam menggunakan AI sebagai alat terjemah harus terlebih dahulu menguasai ilmu penerjemahan dan AI hanya sebagai alat bantu yang memudahkan penerjemah.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools, as traditional Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia, have an important role in character building of the younger generation. The background of this study is to explore how pesantren implement inclusive and multicultural educational characters amidst the increasing need for tolerance and diversity in society. This study aims to analyse the role of pesantren in teaching multicultural values as well as the challenges faced in the process. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analyses in several Islamic boarding schools that have implemented multicultural education. The focus of the research is on the application of multicultural values such as tolerance, justice, empathy, respect for equality, and equality in education and daily social interactions in pesantren. The results showed that the pesantren have integrated multicultural character education through various programs, such as interfaith dialogue, cross-cultural social activities, and a curriculum that includes knowledge about religious and cultural diversity. The main values taught in pesantren include tolerance, cooperation, mutual respect, and social justice. Santris are taught to appreciate differences and live in harmony with others, regardless of religious or cultural backgrounds. However, challenges such as resistance to change and the influence of globalisation remain obstacles. In conclusion, multicultural education in pesantren plays a significant role in forming a generation that is inclusive and has a strong character, ready to face poverty and global challenges.
