Abstract

Abstract: This study aimed to determine the profile of Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPCK) Biology Teacher prospective students FKIP Riau University. This type of research is a descriptive study conducted in FKIP Biology Education Studies Program, University of Riau in September-November 2014. The sample was a student of Biology Education FKIP Riau University class of 2011 and 2012. The sampling technique is done with purposive. The research instrument in the form of closed and open questionnaire. Closed questionnaire consists of 32 items to measure 7 (seven) TPCK domain, namely: 1. Technological Knowledge, 2. Pedagogical Knowledge, 3. Content Knowledge, 4. Technological Pedagogical Knowledge, 5. Technological Content Knowledge, 6. Pedagogical Content Knowledge, 7. Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge. The results show the ability of student teachers in applying TPCK biology are at good criteria with a mean of 3.41. Thus, student teachers FKIP Biology, University of Riau have been able to organize learning biology-based information and communication technology (ICT). While the correlation between TPCK against prospective student GPA Biology Teacher shows the items that exert significant influence Technological Knowledge ie with a percentage of 13.1%.Keywords: Technology, Pedagogy, Content, Technology Pedagogical Content Knowledge, Biology Teacher Prospective Students.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to develop a Student Worksheet Scientific approach based on the material temperature and heat to improve critical thinking skills junior high school students of class VII at the designing aspect, pedagogical aspects, content aspect, indicator of the ability to think critically. This research was conducted from March to June 2015. This type of research is the development of research using ADDIE models. 3.7 KD research subjects understand the concept of temperature, thermal expansion, heat, heat transfer, and their application in the mechanism of safeguarding the stability of body temperature in humans and animals as well as in everyday life. The instrument used to collect data is LKS assessment sheets, sheets critical thinking skills and siswaData questionnaire responses obtained from LKS development based on a scientific approach to the material temperature and heat to improve critical thinking skills that have been validated by four (4) people valildator, comprising of Biology Education lecturer and science teacher at SMPN 1 Pekanbaru. Then validator gives the impression and suggest improvements to the worksheets that have been developed. After the results of the assessment worksheets revised based on suggestions and input from each validator. LKS subsequently revised junior high school students tested to Class VII. Student response data obtained from the test to the students of SMPN 1 Pekanbaru Class VII student of 20 people. Data critical thinking skills obtained through the assessment of answers to the critical thinking skills. LKS validation results from the design aspect is 3.25 with valid categories, namely pedagogic aspects of 3.33 with the category of very valid and aspects of content 3.08 with a valid category. Students' response to Aspect 94 with LKS is very good category. Results answer students' critical thinking skills, namely 77 with both categories.Keywords: Student Worksheet, Scientific approach and Critical thinking.

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this study is develop of student worksheets based on scientific approach for senior high school biology grade XI. This development consisted of eight student worksheets. This study was conducted in Biology Education Program and tryout in PMIPA Laboratorium of Teacher Training and Education University of Riau on May to December 2014. Validation sheets, student responses sheets and critical thinking skill sheets were used as data collection instruments. Validation sheets were filled by the internal and external vaidators. Student responses sheet were filled by students and critical thinking skill sheet were filled by observers. Collected datas were analyzed by descriptive statistics. The result of this worksheets development showed that the student worksheets were very valid with score 3.6-3.7. Student responses to the worksheet were 35.5% of very good, 41.2% of good and 25.5% of good enough. Based on study result, the development of student worksheets based on scientific approach was done with 4D model that consists of define, design, develop and disseminate. Based on validation result, this students worksheets based on scientific approach could be implemented with filed test.Key words: Critical Thinking, Development, Student Worksheet Based On Scientific Approach

Abstract

Abstract: The research aimed to develop LKS SMA / MA grade X with emotional intelligence content in the material change and environmental preservation to improve HOTS. Research conducted at the Laboratory of Biology PMIPA FKIP Riau and MAN 2 Model Pekanbaru in March-June 2015.The research procedures are adapted from the R and D (Research and Development) with ADDIE model development, the procedures includes: Analyze, Design, Development, implementation and Evaluation. This research was carried out until the stage of development. Data collection instruments used validation sheets and students response questionnaire. Limited trials conducted to look at the feasibility worksheets that have been developed. The data obtained were analyzed to determine the validity of student worksheet. The tryout subjects in this research are 26 students of X Science 7 class in MAN 2 Model Pekanbaru. The subject in the research is KD 3.10 on the environmental balance, waste handling, fertilizer Bokashi and damage caused by pollution. The products content has been revised based on the result of the field test (tryout II) and the suggestions from the validators.The validation results namely (1) student worksheet 1: balance environmental, 3,25 with a valid category; (2) student worksheet 2: waste management 3,30, with the category of very valid; (3) LKS Bokashi fertilizer 3,16 with a valid category; (4) LKS 4: damage caused by pollution is 3,05 with a valid category. The overall response of students to the LKS is very good. Based on the results of data analysis showed that development of biology students worksheet SMA/MA grade x in change and environmental preservations chapter with emotional intelligence content to improve the student’s higher order thinking skills (HOTS) potentially as a source in the learning process and it can be used with a mean of valid criteria.Keywords: Biology Student Worksheet, Emotional Intelligence, HOTS
