Abstract

Protection and development of local-breed breed is very important because it can utilize low-quality feed and are more resistant to environmental stress and disease. It is very important also for the development and utilization of local breeds because they are very well adapted to their environment, with a very limited nature and management are very low. The method used was literature study, which is to identify how the environmental effects toward the phenotypic Plasticity livestock.The results of research showed that the phenotypic and genotypic expression is caused by environmental factors such as pathogen infection or a biotic factors (light, temperature, oxygen, drought, nutrients) as well as the use of biotechnology through genetic engineering (gene recombination), gene expression conducted in two stages,transcription and translation. Protein synthesis mechanisms controlling gene regulated by the regulator (regulator gene), gene operator (operator gene), and gene structure (structural gene). On one way to regulate the effectiveness of the enzyme by  genetic control, development of farm businesses in areas that have problems due to a less than optimal environment, it can develop local cattle. Keywords: environment, phenotypic plasticity, livestock.

Abstract

Penelitian dengan judul Analisis fenotipe, pendugaan bobot tetas dan bobot hidup umur 12 minggu pada seleksi ayam kampung telah dilakukan di Kota Ternate. Peneltian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental design dengan tahapan sebagai berikut: Tahap awal: Perkawinan antara ayam kampung jantan berjumlah 5 ekor dengan betina berjumlah 25 ekor sebagai tetua yang berada dalam kandang individual menggunakan teknik Inseminasi Buatan (IB) sebanyak 2 kali dalam seminggu. Tahap kedua : Pengumpulan telur selama seminggu dimasukkan ke dalam mesin penetasan. Setelah telur menetas dan tubuh anak ayam kampung kering diberi Wing band sebagai identitas lalu dilakukan penimbangan untuk memperoleh data bobot tetas. Tahap ketiga: Anak ayam dimasukkan ke dalam kandang kelompok yang terbuat dari ram kawat berukuran 70 x 60 x 30 cm dilengkapi induk buatan, tempat makan dan minum. Parameter diamati adalah karakter fenotip, bobot telur, bobot tetas dan bobot hidup 8 minggu. Hasil menunjukkan  tingkat keragaman baik karakter fenotip maupun tingkat produktivitas ayam buras masih dalam kategori tinggi, upaya seleksi perlu dilakukan secara kontinyu untuk memperoleh strain ayam buras murni.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Dinas Pertanian Provinsi Maluku Utara (Sofifi). Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh lama thawing terhadap kualitas semen beku Sapi Bali. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Anlisis Of Variance (ANOVA) satu arah dengan empat macam perlakuan yaitu 15, 30, 45 dan 50 detik menggunakan air ledeng (PDAM) temperature 25‐30oC dan dilakukan 4 kali ulangan. Perlakuan pada penelitian ini yaitu P1: thawing 15 detik, P2: thawing 30 detik, P3: thawing 45 detik, dan P4: thawing 50 detik. Parameter yang diamati pada penelitian ini adalah Motilitas, Viatabilitas, dan Abnormalitas. Hasil menunjukkan nilai terbaik Motilitas pada 15 detik sebesar 86,25%. Viatabilitas sebesar 83,75%. Sedangkan pada Abnormalitas thawing 15 detik memiliki nilai yang lebih rendah sebesar 15,00%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa lama thawing 15 detik dan 30 detik mempunyai kualitas sperma yang lebih baik daripada lama thawing 45 dan 50 detik. Kata Kunci : Thawing, Motilitas, Viatabilitas, dan Abnormalitas. Abstract This research was carried out in the agricultural department of North Maluku Province (Sofifi). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of thawing time on the quality of Bali frozen semen. Analysis of the data used in this study used an one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) with four types of treatments, namely 15 seconds, 30,45, and 50 seconds using tap water (PDAM) temperature of 25-30°C and carried out 4 replications. This research is: P1: 15 seconds thawing, P2: 30 seconds thawing, P3: 45 seconds thawing, and P4: 50 seconds thawing. The parameters observed in this study were motility, viatability, and abnormalities. The results showed the best value of motility at 15 seconds at 86.25%. Viatability is 83.75%. Whereas the 15 second thawing abnormality has a lower value of 15.00%. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the length of thawing 15 seconds and 30 seconds has better sperm quality than the thawing duration of 45 and 50 seconds. Abstract

Beef cattle have good prospects to be developed in Indonesia. Forage providing has potential to support the maintenance of beef cattle. This study aims to (1) study the characteristics of beef cattle breeders in Sulabesi island (2) identify and analyze the potential of beef cattle development and beef cattle development strategies. (3) analyze the condition of strategic areas, natural resources, and beef cattle rearing systems for the development of beef cattle, and (4) analyze opportunities, constraints, supporting factors and challenges in order to formulate a development strategy based on internal factors and external factors that can affect the development of beef cattle. This research was conducted on Sulabesi Island from October to December 2022. The characteristics of beef cattle breeders were analyzed by using descriptive statistics. The state of the region that is a sector basis non basis was analyzed by using LQ (Location Quation). Beef cattle development potential was analyzed by using KPPTR and SWOT analysis. The results shows that the farmers in the location were of productive age and had a good education. The types of forages found are very diverse. West Sulabesi, Central Sulabesi and South Sulabesi sub-districts are potential beef cattle bases with LQ values of 2.19, 1.96 and 1.38. There are two subdistricts with very good livestock capacity, namely Sanana District with 45,924 ST and North Sanana District with 32,543 ST. The score of the IFE matrix is 1.10 and the EFE is 1.11 where these two points are in quadrant 1 of the SWOT matrix. In determining the strategy, there are 3 alternative S-O strategies, 4 alternative W-O, 3 S-T and 2 W-T strategies.Key words: Forage, breeder, Sulabesi Island, Beef Cattle, LQ, KPPTR, SWOT.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of various types of growth media maggot from banana waste (Musa paradisiaca) taken from traditional markets on the performance of starter phase local chicken with several parameters measured, namely maggot biomass, daily weight gain of local chicken, feed consumption and feed conversion chicken starter phase. This research was carried out experimentally with four treatments that were tried namely basal ration (P0), basal ration added maggot from banana stem culture media (P1), basal ration added maggot with banana weevil (P2) culture and basal ration added maggot with banana skin culture media (P3). The results showed that the banana waste both in the stem, tuber and skin parts had a very significant effect (p 0.01) with sig values. 0.009 on maggot larvae biomass in the first week of weighing. Whereas the 2nd and 3rd weeks have a significant influence on the value of sig. 0.023 and 0.045 (p 0.05). The use of banana peels as a culture medium gives the best effect on the growth of BSF maggot larvae compared to banana weevil and gedebog. Maggot BSF larvae using banana stem culture media (P3) in the ration gave a good influence on the daily weight gain and consumption of starter phase rations. Whereas all treatments had the same effect on feed conversion.Keywords: Maggot, Banana waste, Growth, local chicken
