Abstract

One of the issues which has been attracted by Muslim scholars is the religious moderation mainstreaming. Pesantren, as the oldest and indigenous educational institution in Indonesia, is inseparable from such issue. This study examines the development of moderation a basic idea of pesantren. This paper is divided into three parts. First is introducing the articulation of moderation in pesantren from various perspectives. Second is discussing the idea of Arkoun and al Jabiri’s ideas and its relation on moderation and pesantren. Third is elaborating the moderation of pesantren from its curriculum’s and extracurricular activities. This paper concerned on how Islamic moderation has shaped and disseminated through the learning process in pesantren?. Furthermore, this research was conducted at five pesantren in Kediri, East Java by considering their typologies and management. By using the interview method, literature study and in-depth observation, this research has produced data related to the research theme. Then, the results of research are to explore the complexity and continuity of Islamic moderation in pesantren and to prove that moderation mainstreaming in the grassroot is not static but flexible and dynamic as well as being fluid and multi-dimensional through the learning process and the extracurricular activities.

Abstract

This research is aimed at identiffing the effect of formative assessment in improving the results of study of students on mathematics lesson interconnected with the initial ability of students. The research was conducted at MAN 9 in DKI Jakarta in the second semester of 2007-2008 academic year. The sample was selected by applying simple random sampling technique and the site was 80.This research used experiment method with factorial design 2 x 2 and the data were analyzed by using Two-way Anova and T- test at/the level of significance a = 0,05.

Abstract

AbstractThis research aims at testing an influence of learning process and cognitive style against the math learning outcome by considering initial competency. The research was conducted at MAN (Islamic State Senior High School) 2 of Bekasi City on the semster 1 of the academic year 2009-2010, with sample of 52 students. This research applies an experiment method on Treatment by level design 2x2 and analysis data by applying Covariant Analysis (ANCOVA) at a significant level α = 0,05.The research outcome shows that: 1) Math learning outcome between student group given by a discussion learning method is higher than the student group given by the conventional learning method, 2) Interaction influence between the learning method and cognitive style against the Math learnong outcome, 3) For the students group which has an independent cognitive field, the Math learning outcome between the student group given by the discussion learning method is higher than the student group given by the conventional learning method, 4) This research outcome does not support any hypothesis trueness proposed which is for the student group who has independent cognitive field style, the Math outcome between the student group given by the discussion learning meyhod is lower than the student group given by the conventional learning method. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh metode pembelajaran dan gaya kognitf terhadap hasil belajar matematika dengan memperhitungkan kemampuan awal. Penelitian dilakukan di MAN 2 Kota Bekasi pada semester 1 tahun pelajaran 2009-2010, dengan sampel sebanyak 52 siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan Treatment by level design 2x2 dan data di analisis dengan menggunakan Analisis Covarians (ANCOVA) pada level signifikan α = 0,05.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Hasil belajar Matematika antara kelompok siswa yang diberi metode pembelajaran diskusi lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok siswa yang diberi metode pembelaaran konvensional, 2) Terdapat pengaruh interaksi antara metode pembelajaran dan gaya kognitif terhadap hasil belajar Matematika, 3) Untuk kelompok siswa yang memiliki gaya kognitif field independent, hasil belajar Matematika antara kelompok siswa yang diberi metode pembelajaran diskusi lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok siswa yang diberi metode pembelajaran konvensional, 4) Hasil penelitian ini tidak mendukung kebenaran hipotesis yang diajukan yaitu untuk kelompok siswa yang memiliki gaya kognitif field dependent, hasil belajar Matematika antara kelompok siswa yang diberi metode pembelajaran diskusi lebih rendah dibandingkan kelompok siswa yang diberi metode pembelajaran konvensional.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to evaluate the implementation of Islamic education through boarding school system at SMA Islam Nurul Fikri in Lembang, Bandung. This study is conducted by using a qualitive method. The study revealed five major results namely; a) SMA Islam Nurul Fikri has been attracted citizens because of their  integrated system in the curriculum that is combined general and religious education; b) students’ family backgrounds are from the upper and middle classes with high intelligence; c) experiential learning processes that are integrated cognitive, affective and conative domains; d) the outputs of majority students are enrolled in the state universities and won many achievements in various provincial and national competitions; and e) the expected model in the future is to maintain an integrated school model through a boarding school system in producing students who are proficient in the general and religious fields and expanding access for middle and lower-class students.Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penyelenggaraan pendidikan Islam melalui sistem Boarding school. Lokasi di SMA Islam Nurul Fikir Lembang dengan metode kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: a) SMA Islam Nurul Fikri banyak diminati masyarakat karena adanya sistem boarding school dan kurikulum terpadu yang memadukan pendidikan umum dan pendidikan agama; b) input peserta didik berasal dari kalangan menengah atas dengan kecerdasan tinggi; c) proses pembelajaran melalui pengalaman (experiential learning) dan memadukan secara utuh ranah kognitif, afektif dan konatif; d) output peserta didik banyak yang masuk ke Perguruan Tinggi Negeri dan banyak meraih prestasi berbagai kejuaraan lomba baik tingkat provinsi maupun nasional; e) model yang diharapkan ke depan adalah mempertahankan model sekolah terpadu melalui sistem boarding school dengan menghasilkan peserta didik yang mahir di bidang umum dan agama serta memperluas akses bagi peserta didik menengah ke bawah.
