Abstract

This research is a development of the previous research which had done by Purba and Seniati (2004). The purpose of this study is to test whether big five personality and affective organizational commitment positively affect on organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). The respondents in this research are the administrative staffs at Maranatha Christian University (MCU), Bandung. One hundred seventeen of 199 data were useable. There were two hypotheses that formulated in this research and all hypotheses supported by the empirical data. Simple regression analysis was used to test two hypotheses. The result of this research shows that the big five personality and affective organizational commitment positively influence on organizational citizenship behavior at Maranatha Christian University. The implications of these findings were discused for the future researches were advised.Keywords: big five personality, affective organizational commitment, organizational citizenship behavior (OCB)

Abstract

This study examines the effects of organizational justice that consist procedural, distributive, interpersonal, and informational justice through outcome measures. Outcome measures consist of four dimensions which are outcome satisfaction, rule compliance, leader evaluation, and collective esteem. The questionnaires were distributed to 199 Maranatha Christian University's teachers of Economy and Phychology Faculty. A total of 67 teachers completed the questionnaires with a 56.3 per cent response rate, and only 64 data could be used. Normality, validity, reliability, and fitn ess model tests were done before the hypotheses testing. Five hypotheses are proposed in this study and structural equation modeling shows that all hypotheses are supported. The results indicate that organizational justice has direct effects on teacher's outcome measures.Keywords: organizational justice, outcome measures, structural equation modeling.

Abstract

Citra Universitas Kristen Maranatha merupakan hasil pengkomunikasian produknya pada konsumennya. Melalui model Means-End Chain diuraikan atribut-atribut produk untuk dikomunikasikan. Dalam kenyataan pengkomunikasian tersebut sering terbias oleh gangguan-gangguan. Pengukuran efektifitas komunikasi dalam atribut fasilitas, reputasi, kehidupan sosial, kelas sosial, suasana akademik, dan tes masuk diukur dalam aspek-aspek kemudahan ditemukan, kemenarikan, kemudahan diterimanya, kesesuaian dan kejelasan dari informasi. Pengujian Kolmogorov-Smimov satu variabel digunakan untuk menguji validitas dari aspek-aspek tersebut. Dari hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa atribut pembeda yang dicoba dikomunikasikan adalah fasilitas, mutu, dan suasana dapat dikatakan cukup baik karena mudah ditemukan, menarik, mudah diterima, sesuai dengan kenyataan dan jelas, namun citra yang terbentuk sebagai universitas bermutu dan berfasilitas baik tidak terlalu dominan. Sedangkan gangguan yang teridentifikasi adalah hambatan organisasi, kaburnya persepsi mutu dengan fasilitas, informasi teman dan saudara, dan alat. Abstract

This research examines the affects of job satisfaction toward organizational commitment which is mediated by organizational identification. The respondents of this research are 61 of 67 Maranatha Christian University’s teachers of Economy and Psychology Faculty. Validity, reliability, and fitness model examination are conducted before the hypotheses testing. Eight hypotheses are partially proposed that using linier reggression analysis. The results of this study show that five hypotheses are supported. In other word, intrinsic and extrinsic job satisfaction has positively affected toward organizational identification and affective organizational commitment, and organizational identification has positively affected toward affective organizational commitment. The implications of these findings were discussed and suggestions for the future research were advanced.
