Abstract

Analisa perambatan retak fatik stainless steel 304 yang dilapisi aluminium dengan metode hot-dip secara ekperimen dan numerikal untuk mengetahui perubahan sifat mekanik pada SS304 serta memprediksi hasil uji fatik secara metode numerik yang berbasis program CFD dengan hasil secara ekperimen. Hasil simulasi siklus perambatan retak fatik menunjukkan hasil yang sama. SS 304 dengan difusi 1 jam memiliki siklus terpendek yaitu pada data simulasi terjadi retakan di siklus 8778 dengan Panjang retak 0,703 mm, sedangkan untuk hasil eksperimen retakan terjadi di siklus 5000 dengan panjang retak 0,267 mm. Lalu SS304 tanpa pelapisan memiliki siklus terpanjang yaitu, retakan pada hasil simulasi terjadi di siklus 20351 dengan Panjang retak 0,6787 mm, sedangkan pada data hasil eksperimen awal retakan di siklus 8700 dengan Panjang retak 0,6 mm. Berdasarkan analisis laju perambatan retak fatik dan tegangan, pemberian perlakuan difusi pada SS304 memberikan dampak baik untuk umur kelelahan maupun tegangan untuk merambatkan retak. Kekuatan dan plastisitas SS304 terdegradasi oleh perlakuan aluminisasi. Setelah perlakuan, SS304 menunjukkan keuletan yang lebih tinggi dan kekuatan yang lebih rendah.

Abstract

JIS SUP9 steel is known for its mechanical properties that are able to withstand continuous loads. In this regard, further observation is needed in order to comprehensively determine the strength and fatigue characteristic of JIS SUP9 steel which will be used to predict its service life by conducting both tensile and fatigue test experiments, then subjecting the steel to Austempering heat treatment with a salt solution at 800 degrees Celsius for 120 minutes followed by cooling to room temperature. The results of the tensile test showed the maximum stress of the steel indicating a higher strength of the steel to 1087.16 MPa hence the specimen became brittle. The fatigue test results showed that the specimen perpendicular to the rolling direction had a cycle of 60,000N and a crack propagation of 20.8 mm, whereas the specimen with the same rolling direction produced a cycle of 37,500N but a crack length of 21.2 mm. The test results showed the high cycle fatigue properties of the specimen because microstructure observations using Optical Microscopy (OM) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) revealing Pearlite, Bainite, and Ferrite phases. This is the reason and answer why JIS SUP9 Steel can still be relied on as a spring material for vehicles that carry loads.

Abstract

Rice’ husk ash’ prosperous in silica (siO2). Silica in construction term, especially concrete technology had already been used as additional ingredient. Husk ash is used as additional ingredient of clay roof tile making process. It is made by compounding of clay, sand, water andhusk ash. Then, they are mashed by extruder machine and forming of kuweh and then, airing for three days before the process of stamping. The roof tile is dried for four days then there is fumigation for twelve days and continued by combustion for also twelve days. The examination which used is press and porosity examination with the aim of knowing whether there is additional impact of rice’ husk ash’ existence or not into clay roof tile in Kabupaten Pringsewu. Theresearch’s results showed that there is conversion of press and porosity power compared with roof tile without rice’s husk ash composition. The optimum value for the press and porosity examination is obtained from the roof tile with 5% rice’s husk ash’ composition with the press power’s average value 11.118 KPa and the porosity average value 20.16%. The minimum value for the press and porosity power is obtained from the roof tile without rice’s husk ash’s composition with the press power’s average value 8.393 KPa and its porosity average value 21.92%.Keywords: clay roof tile, rice husk ash, silica (SiO2), press power, porosity.
