Abstract

Many organizations in the world realize that to maintain the stability of an organization within a lot of turnover in human resources, Knowledge Management (KM) is a matter that cannot be forgotten. Since by storing the knowledge, organizations can continue to distribute the knowledge to people and to develop it into a practice of learning, problem solving, and then at the end it becomes a “Best Practice”. Sharing knowledge becomes the main reference in KM in large and small organizations. By multiplying the activities of knowledge sharing among employees in an organization, it can improve the competitiveness of the organization. All activities in knowledge sharing will be easier if it is formed in a Community of Practice (CoP). CoP can be regarded as a best method. In addition there are many benefits that can be spawned by it, such as in the development, dissemination of knowledge to the development of culture in an organization. The method in this paper uses literature study by describing best practices and case studies in a private bank in Indonesia. By forming the CoP, it is expected to motivate employees to share knowledge for the improvement of organizational performance.Keywords: organization, knowledge management, community of practice

Abstract

The success of implementation of information system in an organization will supportthe organization in the process of achieving goals. Successful information system will support theorganization's day-to-day operations, so that problem can be resolved more quickly and easily. Theinformation system which has been developed and implemented is also necessary to measure thematurity level. Therefore, it can determine whether the implementation of information systemsmade in accordance with the goals of the organization. Measuring the success of informationsystems used the DeLone and McLean IS success model. To measure the maturity level ofinformation systems used COBIT (Control Objectives for Information and related Technology)frameworks that provides best practices for IT governance and control. The results of this analysiswill assist and support the IT team in order to develop and build information systems that better fitthe needs and goals of the organization.

Abstract

Companies should be able to adapt to the rapid development of IT. Therefore, IT is a must requirement for companies that want competent in today's business competition. The company must prepare budget that does not cheap for IT investment in order to meet global market competition. Companies need to really check and make sure that their IT investments will indeed be useful and profitable, or can obtain return of investment (ROI) at least. Companies also need to choose the right investments and in accordance with the company's business needs, so that IT can assist in improving corporate profits. This study aims to analyze utility of IT investment, IT investments in the budgeting process, and how the processes and methods of measurement and calculation of a good budgeting. Therefore, companies may prevent any losses on the IT investment. It is expected that through this study companies can decide whether the IT investment is feasible or not feasible to be implemented. Besides, companies can measure whether the investment will it be beneficial or detrimental.
