Abstract

Celullar phone nowadays can be used for security system on vehicle. One of the researches that has beendone was using MMS/SMS to tell the owner of the vehicle that the vehicle was being stolen. The research purposewas to make security system on vehicle using AVR as controller and cellular phone to communicate, and the cellularphone that was on the vehicle was dialed directly to the owner informing that was being stolen. The used researchmethod was literature and experimental method. The research result indicated that the security system has responstime ± 20 seconds more faster than the system before (using MMS/SMS) that needs time 2-6 minutes.

Abstract

Many electronic devices have a network connection facility. Projectors today have network facilities to bolster its customer satisfaction in everyday use. By using a device that can be controlled, the expected availability and reliability of the presentation system (computer and projector) can be maintained to keep itscondition ready to use for presentation. Nevertheless, there is still a projector device that has no network facilities so that the necessary additional equipment with expensive price. Besides, control equipment in large quantities has problems in timing and the number of technicians in performing controls. This study began with study of literature, from searching for the projectors that has LAN and software to control and finding a number of computer control softwares where the focus is easy to use and affordable. Result of this research is creating asystem which contains suggestions of procurement of computer hardware, hardware and software projectors each of which can be controlled centrally from a distance.

Abstract

Computer Networks is an important course as a basis in computer science. This is because at this time all activities are associated with the use of network system or communication system. In the course of learning in Computer Networks, students are often difficult to understand network concepts, especially with many layman terms for students. The term IP, Subnet Mask, Gateway, and Router are the terms widely used in network. To better understand the use of the IP, Subnet Mask, Gateway, and Router, it should be given concrete examples of the application day-to-day. Such as setting the IP, Subnet, Gateway, and Router on a PC connected to the network, it is hoped that students can quickly understand. This prototype used some Virtual Machines considered to represent the need for the creation of multiple virtual machines in one computer. The resulting prototype is expected to be useful in learning the Networking matter in Computer Networks subject. Research successfully created 2 Virtual Machines in 1 computer, with the network in both Virtual Machines isolated and not connected to the Internet.

Abstract

The fundamental attribute of a budget hotel is the provision of essential services at a low cost due to reduced services and facilities. Several services at budget hotels that affect customer choice are related to limitation of accommodation and entertainment services which include the use of television, air conditioning, and other electrical devices. The purpose of this research is to develop a smart system that is used to control and monitor electronic facilities in budget hotel rooms. This system provides budget hotels with the ability to select the electronic facilities that guests want to use in their rooms according to their needs and budget. This system also provides a feature to monitor the use of electronic devices in each room via a web application. The system was developed by using microcontrollers, sensors, radio frequency identification (RFID) devices, a database server, and a web application. The developed system can perfectly provide the room electronic facilities requested by the guest. The system can also monitor the service hour and power consumed by the devices with an accuracy of 99.1% for the service hour and 99.4% for the power consumed.
