Abstract

Manufacturing industry is one of industrial sector in Indonesia that interesting to research. Based on Indonesian GDP in 2015, this sector has a contribution up to 21.13 percent. Most of production process in manufacturing industry used to machining process. One of them is lathe. Moreover, HR preparation is needed, due to have knowledge about this machine. One of them is using machine simulator called “Lathe Simulator 1k62”. The purpose of this research is to find out user experienced of “Lathe Simulator 1k62”. The research method is giving several tasked to respondent, then to fill the User Experienced Questionnaire (UEQ) to find out the Attractiveness, Perspicuity, Efficiency, Dependability, Stimulation, and Novelty. The result found that all of the respondent had complete the assigned task. The UEQ, found that “Lathe Simulator 1k62” in generally had positive value, based on Attractiveness, Perspicuity, Efficiency, Dependability, Stimulation, and Novelty all above 0.8. Furthermore, user experienced of “Lathe Simulator 1k62” had “good” category compared to other software. Keywords: User Experienced, UEQ, Usability, Simulator

Abstract

Quality control is an important aspect in increasing the efficiency and reliability of production processes in business. This research was conducted at industry X in the textile industry. This research examines t-shirt products because they are the best seller products. In the t-shirt production process at this convection, there is a percentage of product defects in jersey t-shirts of 6.22% which exceeds the convection target. This problem can be detrimental to the convection. The aim of this research is to reduce defects in t-shirt products using the six sigma and RCA methods, with this method it can reduce defects to close to zero defects. Based on research results on jersey t-shirts, there are 4 types of defects and the most dominant ones that cause defects on t-shirts are screen printing, 3 types of defects. Result 4 Fishbone Diagram of the main factors that cause defects in t-shirt products, namely, human factors, machines, materials and methods. In conclusion, from the 4 factors that cause defects in t-shirts, the proposed improvements are implemented, namely, providing understanding, warning and giving rest time to operators, checking raw materials at the beginning before entering the warehouse and using them, carrying out machine maintenance and using the right machine settings, implementing SOPs. work, and stricter QC supervision. Based on the results of the implementation of the proposed improvement, this research succeeded in reducing defects. Before repairing jersey t-shirt defects, the percentage was 6.22% to 0.91% with a reduction difference of 5.31%. This reduction has reached the convection target, which targets 0-5% product defects on t-shirts

Abstract

Digital technology, especially SolidWorks software and 3D printing, has brought significant changes to the modern manufacturing industry, increasing efficiency, productivity, and product quality. The problems faced by vocational school graduates are related to their lack of skills in operating the software. Community service activities aim to provide solutions, with direct training, to overcome the skills gap that arises due to the lack of facilities and competent teachers in the vocational school environment. Training methods include delivering material with practical exercises and using evaluations to measure participants' understanding. The main goal is to improve product design skills using SolidWorks and operating 3D printing machines. Based on the training carried out, it shows an increase in participants' knowledge regarding the operation of SolidWorks software and 3D printing. This can be seen from the increase in post-test scores of 6.34% compared to the pre-test. In addition, the participants' 3D printed parts showed better quality in terms of dimensional accuracy, visual surface roughness, and fewer defective parts compared to before the training.

Abstract

Batik is an ancestral heritage of the Indonesian people that has been preserved to this day, particularly on the island of Java. In Java, the centers of the batik industry are located in Pekalongan, Yogyakarta, Surakarta, and Sukoharjo. In Sukoharjo, there are several home industries producing batik cloth, especially in the Krendetan Sukoharjo area, which specializes in both written and stamped batik. The batik-making process in these home industries is performed manually using simple tools. A preliminary survey revealed that the batik-making process involves repetitive tasks and imposes a high workload, particularly in the batik stamping process. This study aims to determine energy expenditure during work, energy expenditure during rest, and energy consumption needs for workers in the batik industry. The research was conducted in the stamping section and the boiling process to remove wax from the fabric. The results showed that energy expenditure during the batik stamping process was 382 kcal/hour, while in the boiling process it was 402 kcal/hour. Energy expenditure during rest was 354 kcal/hour in the stamping process and 367 kcal/hour in the boiling process. Energy consumption during the stamping process was 29 kcal/hour, and in the boiling process, it was 36 kcal/hour. The required rest time for the stamping process was 7.43 minutes per 15 minutes of work, while for the boiling process it was 5 minutes per 30 minutes of work.
