Abstract

Abstract: The form of this research is collaborative classroom action research and aims to improve mathematics learning outcomes with applied the Cooperative Learning Type Numbered Heads Together (NHT). The subject of the research is students of class VIIIC SMP Negeri 1 Pangkalan Kerinci in the second semester academic year 2013/2014 there are 36 students in the class, consist of 17 boys and 19 girls who have heterogeneous academic ability. The research consist of two cycles and each cycle has four stages, they are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The data collected in this research is data on the implementation of the learning process and data on student’s mathematics learning outcomes. The technique used to collect data on the implementation of the learning process are observation technique, technique of performance appraisal and assessment technique written test. While The technique used to collect data on student’s mathematics learning outcomes is technique written test in the form of daily test. Analysis technique used to analyze the data in this research is descriptive statistical. Criteria for success of the action in this research is an increas in student’s mathematics learning outcomes after done action, that the number of student who achieve a score of minimum mastery criteria (MMC) at daily tests I more than student who achieve a score of MMC at basis score and the number of student who achieve a score of MMC at daily tests II more than student who achieve a score of MMC at daily tests I. The number of students who achieve a score of MMC on basic score, daily test I and daily test II are respectively 3%, 14%, and 48%. The learning process during the action given and MMC attainment percentage indicates that the cooperative learning type NHT can improve students mathematics learning outcomes class VIIIC SMP Negeri 1 Pangkalan Kerinci. Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to increase learning process and students’ math achievement at class VIII6 SMPN 20 Pekanbaru through the implentation realistic mathematics education approach in cooperative learning model of STAD. The subject were 40 students from class VIII6 SMP Negeri 20 Pekanbaru consist of 17 male and 32 female students with the heterogeneus level. This study used classroom action research The instruments of data collection in this research were observation sheets and students Mathematic tests. The data which collected were analyzed with descriptive analyzed statistically. From analyzed of teacher and students activity in the learning process showed an improvement of learning process prior to the action on the first and second cycle. The result of this research showed an increasing number of students’ math achievement from the basic score 37.5% to 50% on the first daily test and 62.5% on the second daily test. Based on the result of this research can be concluded that the implentation realistic mathematics education approach in cooperative learning model of STAD can improve students’ math achievemsent at class VIII6 SMPN 20 Pekanbaru in the second semester academic years 2013/2014. Abstract

Abstract: This is a pre-experimental study that aims to determine the effect of the application of problem-solving strategies in Think Pair Share (TPS) structural approach of cooperative learning for mathematics learning outcomes (MLO) which include attitudes, knowledge, and skills competences. This research was conducted in grade VII SMP Negeri 1 Rengat on odd semester Academic Year (AY) 2014/2015 with the subject matter of numbers pattern. This study design using Intec Group Comparison. The population in this study is the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Rengat AY 2014/2015. Samples in this study involved three groups were selected by purposive sampling technique, each of as many as 35 students, VIIB as the first experimental class following study with problem solving strategies in TPS structural approach of cooperative learning (PSSTPS), VIID as the second experimental class following the TPS structural approach of cooperative learning (TPSCL), and VIIC as the controll class following conventional learning (CL). The MLO data of attitude competence taken using self-assessment techniques, whereas knowledge and skills competences taken using math achievement test. This study showed the following results. (1) There are differences in MLO of skills and knowledge competences among learners who follow PSSTPS and learners who follow CL. (2) There are differences in MLO of knowledge competence among learners who follow TPSCL and learners who follow CL. (3) There is no difference in MLO of knowledge and skills competences among learners who follow PSSTPS, TPSCL, and PK in addition to those mentioned in (1) and (2). Abstract

Abstract: This research is based on the low mathematical understanding ability of students in class X MIA 2 of MAN 2 Model Pekanbaru. Based on test mathematical understanding ability for sequence and series lesson there are 5 of 19 students(26,31%) who achieved the mastery. The type of this research is classroom action research and the purpose of this research is to improve the learning process and increase mathematical understanding ability by implementing discovery learning. The subject of this research were the students in class X MIA 2 of MAN 2 Model Pekanbaru at the second semester of academic year 2014/2015. Students in this research are 19 people, there are 9 boys and 10 girls. The instruments of data collection in this research were observation sheets and mathematical understanding ability tests.The observation sheets were analyzed in qualitative descriptive and mathematical understanding ability tests were analyzed in quantitative descriptive. Based on analyzed showed that there are: (1) the improvement of learning process after the implementation of discovery learning in mathematics in class X MIA 2 of MAN 2 Model Pekanbaru by analyzed observation sheets; (2) increase the mathematical understanding ability of students with the score N-gain is 0,66(medium classification) in the first cycle and 0,73 (high classification) in the second cycle. The conclusion of this research is the implementation of discovery learning can improve the learning process and increase the mathematical understanding ability of students in class X MIA 2 of MAN 2 Model Pekanbaru in the second semester of academic year 2014/2015 for opportunity lesson.
