Abstract

Multitasking is one of the most challenging issues in the automation industry which is highly depended on the embedded system. There are two methods to perform multitasking in embedded system: RTOS and primitive interrupt. The main purpose of this research is to compare the performance of R¬TOS with primitive method while concurrently undertaking multiple tasks. The system, which is able to perform various tasks, has been built to evaluate the performance of both methods. There are four tasks introduced in the system: servo task, sensor task, LED task, and LCD task. The performance of each method is indicated by the success rate of the sensor task detection. Sensor task detection will be compared with the true value which is calculated and measured manually during observation time. Observation time was varied after several iterations and the data of the iteration are recorded for both RTOS and primitive interrupt methods. The results of the conducted experiments have shown that, RTOS is more accurate than interrupt method. However, the data variance of the primitive interrupt method is narrower than RTOS. Therefore, to choose a better method, an optimization is needed to be done and each product has its own standard.

Abstract

Register is one of the computer components that have a key role in computer organisation. Every computer contains millions of registers that are manifested by flip-flop. This research focuses on the investigation of flip-flop performance based on its type (D, T, S-R, and J-K) and architecture (structural, behavioural, and hybrid). Each type of flip-flop on each architecture would be tested in different bit of shift register with parallel load applications. The experiment criteria that will be assessed are power consumption, resources required, memory required, latency, and efficiency. Based on the experiment, it could be shown that D flip-flop and hybrid architecture showed the best performance in required memory, latency, power consumption, and efficiency. In addition, the experiment results showed that the greater the register number, the less efficient the system would be.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract Congestion is one of the severe problems that occurs in big cities like Jakarta, the center of the Indonesian government. One alternative solution to solve this problem is with a Traffic Information System which is easily accessible by the public. Twitter as a social media can be used as one of information source to develop the Traffic Information System. The most common problem in the processing of information on Twitter, especially in Indonesia, is the use of abbreviations and typographical error (typo). We propose an application of Web Place Name Dictionary in addressing abbreviations and typos in the name of the location contained on Twitter to develop a Traffic Information System. Three cases in find coordinate point in the street that derived from location name in Twitter can be handled through the proposed system. This system produces 90% accuration rate on 100 data set that obtained via @TMCPoldaMetro. This study only focus on the implementation of Web Place Name Dictionary method so we do not compare our system with the other methods.

Abstract

Automatic car make, and model classification is essential to support activities of intelligent traffic systems in urban areas, such as surveillance, traffic information collection, statistics, etc. In order to classify this data, we need an embedded system approach for real-time car recognition. Many approaches could be made, from image processing to machine learning. Recently, the development of the Convolutional Neural Network has spurred various research in the Area. ResNet, Inception, DenseNet, and NasNet are some of the most commonly used Neural Network based method that is used to classify images. In this research, these Neural Network methods are going to be compared in classifying vehicle make and model in the Stanford dataset. The dataset contains 196 different labels. Several evaluation metrics are used to compare the performance of the methods. From the experiment, the InceptionV3 method achieved the best performance of the AUROC ratio for training the dataset under 50 epochs. Other methods that achieve a high AUROC value tends to have a higher computational time. Real-time simulations have shown that the embedded system is capable of classifying a 100 % success rate for six concurrent users.
