Abstract

Culture has a significant influence on the interpretation of the Qur?an. The influence has somehow integrated into the process of interpretation, which often colors the patterns of it. One of the Qur?anic exegeses which identity lies in Javanese culture is tafsir Al-Ibri?z. Besides a vernacular attempt, which signifies its main characteristic of interpretation, the color of Javanese culture is also an interesting topic to study. It is because the content of Javanese culture has been inherent in every single verse explained in various forms and ways. This study argues that Al-Ibri?z accommodates the values of Javanese culture as a mode of interpretation of the Qur?an. Those values lay in the basic principles of harmony and respect, which are part of the local Javanese ethics, the value of the concept of kerajawian (tradition applied in Jawa) about kawula pangeran (relationship between human and god) relation, and the imaginative-projective nature of Javanese thought.

Abstract

This article discusses two education concepts from sociological point of view, namely official knowledge as the product of critical pedagogy experts and the concept of intercultural education that is pinned to solve the problem of identity in educational environment. This article makes Jayapura a case example where the two concepts can be implemented both theoretically and practically. With a phenomenological approach in the field, this study found that the concept of "Official Knowledge" which was often framed as resistance to government power could be shifted to an "acceptance attitude" to resolve conflicting identity conflicts in society. The condition is that the state must have power to regulate the knowledge and awareness of the facts of diversity in Indonesia. The intercultural approach can derive diversity through education that promotes interaction, communication, and the formation of an attitude of mutual understanding and acceptance between one individual and another, between social reality and knowledge in educational institutions, and between different religious groups.

Abstract

Regional expansion in Papua is an interesting phenomenon, because there is an attraction between the central government and the Papuan. The pretext of the development and empowerment of Papua, both from the aspect of natural resources and human resources is the reason that made the Presidential Instruction in 2003 published for the acceleration of development in Papua. The pros and cons occured, because the Papuans do not want the expansion at that time, until four victims have to fall. Inequality occured because natural resources in Papua are explored more by non-Papuans. Friction between OAP (Papuan Genuine) and ONP (Non-Papuan) has occurred since the 1960s to the present. But later OAP began to understand the pattern of changing times and preparedness in the face of the globalization era, especially the readiness to face an increasingly developing economy. The friction that occured due to different culture and history in the economic dynamics between OAP and ONP becomes a meeting point, so that between OAP and ONP now can be established mutual symbiosis, both have their own bargaining value
