Abstract

The eruption of Merapi Volcano in 2010 was one of the biggest eruptions in the Merapi Volcano history. It caused several impacts such as building and environment damage, financial loss, and many casualties. The objective of this research is as a disaster mitigation by obtaining casualties distribution based on 2010 Disaster-prone Area map (Kawasan Rawan Bencana), knowing how the casualties distribution based on age and gender and getting the factors which caused many casualties. The research was done by quetionnaires, observation, field survey and interview with the casualties and stakeholders, then the data was analyzed using ArcMap software. The result of the research showed that distribution of the most casualties was in the around of Gendol River stream which was part of KRB III area about 260 persons. Meanwhile, 82 casualties were also spread in the KRB II area, 72 persons in the KRB I and non KRB area. The casualties in KRB III were caused by pyroclastic flow, and the others caused by tephra falls, accidents, disease, psychological condition and culture. Based on gender, men are many more than women and based on age, old men and women casualties are more than the younger casualties.

Abstract

Pengetahuan serta kesadaran tentang hidup bersih dan sehat bebas sampah sangat penting bagi masyarakat tidak hanya di kota tetapi juga di desa. Kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat untuk menjaga kebersihan lingkungan di Desa Talaga masih rendah diamati dari sampah yang berserakan di lingkungan serta tidak tersedianya tempat sampah di rumah maupun di tempat umum. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk menambah pengetahuan serta meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat untuk membuang sampah pada tempatnya serta mengajarkan membuat Patsambu (tempat sampah bambu). Bentuk kegiatan berupa sosialisasi tentang lingkungan bersih dan sehat bebas sampah bebas bencana serta pelatihan kepada warga untuk membuat  tempat sampah dengan memanfaatkan bahan yang ada di alam yaitu bambu menjadi Patsambu (Tempat Sampah Bambu). Hasil kegiatan yaitu bertambahnya pengetahuan dan wawasan masyarakat mengenai pentingnyamenjaga lingkungan bersih dan sehat bebas sampah serta meningkatnya ketrampilan warga dalam membuat tempat sampah bambu atau Patsambu .

Abstract

Erupsi Merapi 2010 telah menyebabkan kerugian dan kerusakan yang cukup besar diberbagai sektor salah satunya adalah sektor pariwisata. Tujuan dari penelitian iniyaitu melakukan studi manajemen risiko erupsi Merapi terhadap pariwisata.Manajemen risiko dilakukan melalui empat tahapan yaitu identifikasi risiko, analisisrisiko, respon risiko dan monitoring risiko. Metode pengambilan data melalui survei,observasi dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh yaitu terdapat 21 risikoyang teridentifikasi dari aspek natural, ekonomi, finansial, manajerial dan teknikal.Analisis risiko menunjukkan bahwa tingkat risiko tertinggi adalah risiko dari aspeknatural dan aspek teknikal, sedangkan tingkat risiko terendah adalah risiko dariaspek finansial dan manajerial. Proses respon risiko yang digunakan yaitumenerima, mengurangi, menghindari, dan memindahkan. Pada monitoring risikodilakukan pemantauan dan kontrol terhadap jalannya strategi dengan mengetahuikejadian pemicunya serta statusnya saat ini.

Abstract

Pekanbaru city has a high population growth rate and is currently experiencing rapid urbanization, which is driving urban expansion. Urban development alters land cover patterns and reduces environmental quality. The development of residential areas and infrastructure reduces vegetation, affecting Land Surface Temperature (LST) and contributing to the emergence of the Urban Heat Island (UHI) phenomenon. This study aims to analyze changes in land cover, examine the correlation between LST and the Normalized Difference Built-up Index (NDBI) and the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), and then investigate the UHI phenomenon in Pekanbaru City. The research method is quantitative, using data from Pekanbaru City, an administrative map, and Landsat 8 OLI/TIRS imagery, which were spatially analyzed in ARGIS and QGIS. The novelty is the use of guided classification and maximum likelihood algorithms for land cover classification, which revealed significant changes over the five years from 2018 to 2023 in Pekanbaru City. Over 5 years, land cover in the city of Pekanbaru changed, with water bodies increasing by 23%, palm areas increasing by 5%, built-up areas increasing by 34%, and vegetation increasing by 10%, while bare land decreased by 57%. There are significant changes in built-up and vegetation density. The correlation between land surface temperature and built-up density is positive; however, it is negatively correlated with vegetation density. There is an urban heat island phenomenon in Pekanbaru City, characterized by surface temperatures exceeding the UHI threshold.
