Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze variables which differentiate big and small construction project manager based on human resources developmental factors and the accuracy of its classification. The result of the research using discriminated analysis approach of 9 variables shows that variables which differentiate big and small construction project manager are leadership, organization climate, organization culture, and job motivation. The accuracy of big and small project manager classification is 83.2 percent, and the rest is caused by other factors.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze, first, the difference of commitment between big and small construction project managers, second, the difference of performance between big and small construction project managers. In particular, the commitment has eleven (11) discriminating indicator variables and the performance has nine (9) discriminating indicator variables. The results of study using the discriminant analysis approach indicate that from the eleven (11) indicator variables of commitment only two (2) indicator variables that discriminate big and small construction project managers, namely a. Y15= you are very concerned with the fate of this company, b. Y110= this company highly respects your values and goals, and from the 9 (nine) indicator variables of performance only one indicator variable that discriminates big and small construction project managers, namely Y26= the attitude towards work implementation

Abstract

The construction industry's environmental impact necessitates a sustainable shift to mitigate resource depletion, emissions, and biodiversity loss. Integrating local wisdom offers innovative, adaptive solutions grounded in deep environmental understanding, potentially transforming construction practices toward sustainability. This study aims to identify aspects, challenges, impacts, and strategies in green construction practices integrated with local wisdom. The PRISMA framework methodology was used to conduct a comprehensive systematic review with qualitative analysis using NVivo software. Nine aspects of green construction integrated with local wisdom were identified, with cultural heritage preservation the dominant aspect. Eleven challenges were uncovered, with balancing tradition and innovation as the main challenges. Seven impacts on the economy, society, and environment were identified, with construction cost efficiency, improvement of community quality of life, and promotion of a circular economy and sustainable waste management as the dominant impacts. Thirteen strategies were identified, with active engagement of local communities in the construction process as the main strategy. The novelty of this research is a comprehensive review of the integration of green construction with local wisdom, which can be used as a guide in sustainable construction practices responsive to local environmental and social conditions and promote economically, socially, and environmentally sustainable development. Doi: 10.28991/CEJ-2024-010-11-020 Full Text: PDF

Abstract

This study aims to examine the trends of research on Foreign Workers and Construction Development in the Current Era from 2012 to 2022. This research used qualitative research methodology with a bibliometric analysis approach. The primary data of this research was collected through the Scopus database with identifying articles/journals related to the topics of Foreign Workers and Construction Development. This study also uses VOS Viewer to visualize and analyze the primary data with network and density calculation. The result of this study is Russia became the first country to produce many articles from 2012 to 2022. Furthermore, the Engineering is the highest source of publication. Then, most researchers used quantitative methods with online surveys dominantly in the publications related to the topic. Topics about Construction Development, Construction Industry, and Foreigner Worker have the most frequent occurrences and the highest total link strength in the network. Besides, construction development, construction activities, construction industry, etc., have a big opportunity for conducting in the future in terms of foreign workers and construction development in the current era. This study successfully explained global research trends related to foreign workers and construction development in the current era from 2012 to 2022. However, this study has limitations in terms of data sources because the Scopus database is a closed access resource.
