Abstract

Dalam artikel ini saya akan membahas tiga topik: Idul Fitri, tradisi halal bi halal dan sejarah islamisasi di Jawa. Berdasarkan gagasan Robert Redfied tentang tradisi besar dan kecil, saya ingin mengatakan bahwa festival Idul Fitri di Jawa lebih menyenangkan, ceria dan menggembirakan daripada di negara asal karena di masa lalu para intelektual yang menyebarkan Islam tidak mencoba untuk mengubah secara radikal tradisi lokal, namun mereka memilih untuk melanjutkan-tradisi kuno dengan agama baru dari tradisi besar Islam. Itu adalah gerakan yang sangat halus dan pintar sebab mereka menghidupkan kembali tradisi kuno dengan memadukannya dengan Islam. In this paper I will discuss three topic: the origin of Idul Fitri, the halal bi halal tradition and the history of Islamization in Java. Based on Robert Redfied’s notion of great tradition and little tradition, I want to argue that the festival of Idul Fitri in Java is more happy, cheery, and merry rather than in the origin country because in the past the intellectuals who propagated Islam did not try to change radically the local traditions, however they preferred to recontinue the ancient traditions with a new religion from great tradition, Islam. It was a very smooth and smart movement because they revive the ancient traditions by Islamizing the ancient tradition.

Abstract

This study aims to explain about the rise of the Chinese trading culture, which is considered original at first then change progressively based on the internal process, and become damaged after making contacts with the native civilizations, is completely dissatisfying, though part of the truth is explained. Based on the critical analysis approach from the historical facts written by some scholars, the result of this study shows that the political and cultural changes were absolutely a sign of remarkable shock. Mongol conquests were contributed to these changes, though indirectly. Indian civilization was accepted by the native people, which then also influenced by the native culture. While the Islamic Nuance in Indian Ocean had been colored by Islamic nuance for approximately two centuries, wherein the trades in the middle and Chinese oceans were united naturally. Meanwhile Southeast Asia had grown rapidly after being involved in the hectic trading traffic. There were new social groups with the wealth of mobile capital, with a new spirit as the trades, in which in its development, there was a new form of state which was called as sultanate. One of the most important facts of that period is the rise of Java as a great sea power. Keywords:Chinese politic, Trading, Civilization

Abstract

Artikel ini mengulas kebangkitan Kristen Protestan di Korea untuk mengukur sejauh mana hubungan antara agama dan nasionalisme di Korea, serta mencoba untuk mengkaji hubungan kuat antara agama dan nasionalismnasionalisme. Untuk mengulas hal tersebut, artikel ini memfokuskan diri pada telaah historis masa pendudukan Jepang, yakni pada rentang waktu antara tahun 1910 hingga 1945. ArikelArtikel ini berusaha untuk menjawab pertanyaan sederhana: mengapa Kristen Protestan berhasil menjadi agama yang kuat dan penting di Korea? Jawaban atas pertanyaan tersebut juga akan mengantarkan kita untuk bisa memahami nasionalisme Korea. Dengan kata lain, jelas bahwa perkembangan Protestan di Korea adalah sangat terkait dengan ketidakpuasan yang mendalam dan keputusasaan yang dirasakan oleh orang-orang Korea diakibatkan oleh masa pendudukan Jepang. Selain dikarenakan faktor nasionalisme, berkembangnya agama Protestan di Korea juga sangat terkait dengan pendidikan. Para misionaris bertindak cepat untuk melibatkan diri dalam pendidikan. Hal tersebut dikarenakan mereka memahami tentang semangat Korea dalam hal pendidikan dan juga keterbukaan mereka terhadap ide-ide Barat. Selain itu, artikel ini juga mengkaji mengenai dampak dari adanya para missionarismisionaris untuk menyebarkan agama protestanProtestan. Salah satunya adalah dalam hal ekonomi. Beberapa orang di Korea menegaskan bahwa konversi ke Protestan menyebabkan peningkatan ekonomi. Mereka percaya bahwa peningkatan ini disebabkan penolakan mereka terhadap kebiasaan merokok dan minum, judi, serta hal yang berbau kemewahan

Abstract

Indonesia,  even  though  state  gives  a  concession  on  moderate  on  religious  matter,  the phenomena  shows  that  the  radical  Islamic  group  tries  to  intervene  religious  matter  in  Indonesia. Thus  it  might  dangerous  to  manage  the  diversity  that  becomes  national  emblem.  In  this  paper,  I argue  that  democratic  society  should  regulate  and  control  religious  activity.  I  have  two  reasons about  it.  My  reasons  are  based  on  Indonesian  experiences.  First,  the  democratic  society  prevents activities of a majority religion that contain radical political activities and tried to force their values to other citizens.. The Second is the democratic society has a strong idea to protect minority and their religions.

Abstract

Santris who have had the opportunity to go to China then face some contemplation, questions, and curiosity about what is really going on in the relationship between the two countries. Not all but some of them try to trace the substance and variations of Indonesians’ perceptions of China in the past. It’s like a philosophical romance where a child migrates to a foreign land but because of their migration, they become curious about their hometown. In scientific language, they try to slowly trace the existence of negative perceptions of China. They even unconsciously dismantle, although not frontally, the bad and negative image. Following Hong Liu’s (2015) opinion on the Chinese Metaphor, where China is used as a metaphor to express a sense of anxiety over domestic politics that is not going according to ideals, then, the santri are trying to dismantle the conflicting perceptions and narratives about China. For Indonesians, especially natives, Tiongkok as a nation-state is respected as a model country where leaders set an example so that the masses can work closely together. How the Chinese metaphor expresses the mood of the general public and anchors political and cultural thought in the early days of Indonesia as a country. Hong Liu even provides historical information that China for some Indonesian political elites was once used as an alternative form of modernity to the conception and practice of government politics that at that time still followed and emulated Western-derived systems and institutions. This study tries to apply a transnational approach to provide new insights into modern Asian History and regional transformation.
